Raised on a harsh frontier world, strong of will and close to his family, he was abducted by pirates as a teen and spent months as a labor slave before making a daring escape. Falling in with smugglers, he learned to survive with a blaster in both hands--until a sting on Coruscant changed everything. Now, seeking higher purpose, he protects and serves the Jedi Order as an Explorer in the Antarian Rangers.

Chad Bayne was born and raised on Yanibar, a harsh world where survival breeds resilience. As the eldest of three sons in a loving, hard-working family, he learned to tend soil, fix broken equipment, and protect his younger brothers from an early age. His family farm was remote, but tight-knit---a place where every victory, no matter how small, was earned.

When his latent Force sensitivity began to surface, it wasn't the Jedi who came for him, but a wandering Zeison Sha Warrior---an exiled Twi'lek living in the rocky outskirts. Rather than uprooting him from his life, the Twi'lek trained Chad in private, teaching him to control the Force with discipline and precision. He trained with the discblade, meditated in solitude, and remained grounded by his family and the land that raised him.

At sixteen, while meditating alone in the wilds, Chad was captured by a pirate raiding party sweeping the outer settlements of Yanibar. Hauled offworld in chains, he was stripped of his discblade---his mentor's gift---and forced into grueling labor aboard a pirate vessel. The captain delighted in taunting him with his own weapon, waving it like a trophy. Chad was treated as little more than a beast of burden, cleaning latrines and loading cargo, always under threat.

But Chad never broke. He watched, waited, endured.

When the ship docked at a lawless port, Chad took his chance. He overpowered a guard with raw strength, reclaimed his discblade from the captain's quarters, and carved a path to freedom. He launched an escape pod blind, not checking the trajectory of the launch or adhering to safety protocols, and crash-landed in the swamps of Nar Shaddaa, wounded and alone.

He survived.

Chad fell in with smugglers, hiding his Force sensitivity and earning his place aboard a spice-runner's vessel through grit and reliable work. He picked up a blaster, learned how to use it, and traveled the Outer Rim and Mid Rim as hired muscle and deckhand. But the shadow of who he used to be never left him.

Two years later, the ship docked on Coruscant to finalize a high-stakes deal. The crew thought they were getting bold---moving product in the underlevels of the galactic capital. But the law moved faster. During the exchange, a pair of Jedi and a team of Antarian Rangers struck. Blaster fire erupted. Chad tried to run, but was captured.

Because his role in the operation was minor, and his record clean, he served a short sentence. But the encounter stayed with him.

The Jedi hadn't acted out of politics or power---they had moved to stop the flow of spice onto Coruscant's streets. Chad, once trained to be a protector by the Zeison Sha, saw something familiar in their cause. He was raised to distrust Jedi, but he couldn't deny what he'd witnessed.

After his release, Chad tracked down one of the Rangers from the bust. He asked questions. And then he asked how he could help.

Skeptical but curious, the Rangers put him through the wringer. He didn't have fancy tech skills or Jedi tricks---just determination, discipline, and the raw instincts of someone who had clawed his way out of more than one trap. He passed. Barely.

Now, Chad Bayne serves the Antarian Rangers as an Explorer---a survivor with a discblade, a blaster, a cause, and the supreme confidence of a man who had walked through fire and came out the other end stronger for it. He doesn't follow the Jedi blindly, but he sees their worth and he's loyal to the cause. He knows what it's like when no one steps in to protect the helpless. In that, he found camaraderie.
