| Cayde Alexis | A few hours after the group has returned from Ilum and new quarters have been assigned and settled into, Cayde goes to search for his old master's quarters. |
| Athena | The old Ikkrukki is sitting on the floor in his quarters, legs crossed, eyes closed when Cayde enters. But when he comes in, he smiles and opens his eyes. <Cayde> he says warmly, nudging him with yhe Force. |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde doesn't hesitate to enter, although he does seem a little guarded...a little apprehensive. It has been so long... <Master...> |
| Athena | <Come in> the old Master says, gesturing again for Cayde to come in. <Sit. Are you hungry? Thirsty?> |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde nods and comes in, sitting down next to the elder Jedi. Well, he is a little hungry, but most of the local food around here is just not palatable to him. So he just shakes his head. But he's curious about what the Ikkrukki has been doing all this time. <Kuv said you were doing something important> |
| Athena | Rykard smiles wider and gives Cayde a hug, squeezing the young Padawans shoulder gently. <Indeed> he says <I saw a disaster of sorts. An obstruction in hyperspace, a traffic crash. It seemed so impossible> he says, his expression growing solemn. <I do not know if it just a possibility, or inevitable, or something that will happen soon or in the distant future. I tried to learn what I could from Rakata Prime - the homeworld of those who were the first to enter hyperspace, ever, to see what I could learn> |
| Cayde Alexis | A crash in hyperspace? Cayde frowns. But...how could that happen? It seemed so impossible. <What did you learn?> he asks. |
| Athena | <Many things about hyperspace, but none of it was terribly informative> he says with a sigh. <Eventually Kuv and Shasta found me and brought me back to known space. I believe the Force was leading me away from it anyway - I sensed it was for a time that is 'not yet'> <But enough about me. Tell me everything. It has been so long> |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde nods and closes his eyes, reaching out with the Force and trying to relay some of the most important memories to his old master. The good and the bad. Although his experience with Annelia had been mostly good, the traumatic memories of Master Tomi, Torkle Sunn, Emissarius Vlaven and even former Chancellor Rie to a degree have left their marks...and he still feels rather torn about them. Especially Sunn and Vlaven. There is a deep-seated fear of anyone else sharing the same fate for one reason or another... Even as voluminous as the memories are, Rykard may be able to tell that there are some things he is intentionally trying to hold back. |
| Athena | The elderly Ikkrukki man nudges Cayde gently and warmly in the Force, without words implying that Cayde could tell him everything, no judgement or shame would be passed upon him for being transparent. |
| Cayde Alexis | There is still some apprehensiveness, not because he will be shamed, but because he is already ashamed of himself. He's begun to have...strange feelings, when it came to...certain females. Feelings he isn't quite sure what to do with. The Order forbids attachment. But...he couldn't just dismiss them. They wouldn't go away. Would he have to simply avoid these individuals? |
| Athena | <This is normal> Rykard reassures him. <Perhaps something will come of it, perhaps nothing will come of it, but know that eventually these feelings will probably pass, for one reason or another. It is confusing, and maybe frightening. But it is normal. Even when I was young, I was subject to such feelings and internal conflict. When you're older, it will be easier to release attachment. Believe me, now is the time to make mistakes, Cayde. After all, I should hope that you'd like to save all of that for when you become a Master> |
| Cayde Alexis | But was -any- time a good time to make mistakes? Cayde shifts a bit uncomfortably. <Did you avoid them> he asks, searching for practical answers to his present situation. |
| Athena | <No actually> Rykard says <I made some mistakes, but I'm glad I made them then, rather than when I was a Knight or Master.> He shrugs. <I actually do not regret any of it. I was young, and I made decisions that seemed at the time, good for me. In the end, it was neither good or bad, it was just inevitable, and I could not blame myself for doing what I did, I was young. Nearly all the Masters have had their moments, and mistakes. It's normal, and part of maturing.> |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde nods, though he still seems uncertain. <But what should I do> he asks. <What did you do?> |
| Athena | Rykard smiles. <Fear less what you will do, and more about what will happen if you desperately try to suppress it all and tell no one. I am here for you, as always. Try your best to resist and if you cannot, that's alright. It is much better to make mistakes now rather than later. In the grand scheme of things, it matters little. Ten years from now, you'll laugh at how much this bothered you, because it really wasn't such a dramatic thing even though at the time it felt like it> |
| Athena | <There was a pretty Mirialan girl, whom I liked very much. We were both Padawans and while we never formalized our relationship, many nights we stole away to do forbidden things. But eventually we grew out of it and were Knighted, putting aside the passion of our youth> |
| Cayde Alexis | Oh...huh. The story about the Mirialan girl seems to at least somewhat put him at ease. <Thank you Master> he replies, nodding. <I feel...better.> Although there is that lingering feeling that because of his particular gifting, the consequences of his mistakes could be more dire than usual for most others. However, he pushes it down. Master knows about his peculiarities--he should trust that. And besides, he must have much to do, to fill his duties as Marshal now... |
| Athena | <Yes. Don't worry about it so much. If anything, you can always come to me and I can help you process these feelings. But we'll speak again soon, for I must meet with Lady Graf and Taryn San Tekka> He says, rising. <Its so good to see you again Cayde> He hugs him one last time and then goes out of his quarters. |
