Athena It's been... a couple of interesting days here at the colony.

Already, the talk of the town is that there's several Mandalorians here now, though the reasons why they're here have sparked rumors, naturally. Some said they're here to take over. Others simply waved their hands and said it was probably just to buy some fancy rugs for a wedding.

The real reason has remained somewhat of a mystery, though the co-deputies, Navi and Cayde, by now, would likely have gone looking for Rykard to seek his guidance. They would have found him at the Temple Ruins in the Gorge, meditating and studying the Force almost non stop. However, if either of them approach, he'll break his reverie and come out to meet them.

Meanwhile, Kasseady, taken hostage by Jorn, is likely locked up, somewhere. No longer absurdly inebriated, he will verbally assault his captors with demands whenever they appear, delivering empty threats while presumably bound.
Navi "I hope Master Rykard's accepting visitors... I don't even know where to /begin/ right now," Navi murmurs, hiking toward the temple in The Gorge. Given that the colony is just called The Colony by those unfortunate enough to live there, it's a good enough name. Granted, the colony supposedly has an official name, but Navi has heard it perhaps three times since she 'volunteered for' this venture, and never remembers it.
Cayde Alexis     Cayde hasn't learned much about cortosis, other than that it was dangerous to the Order. But now that the situation warranted it, he's spent some time researching as much as he can find before heading down into the valley to seek Rykard's advice.

As he approaches, he reaches out to the elder Jedi in the Force. <Master...what should I do with...cortosis?>
Jorn Jorn has to be -heavily- convinced to stay on planet an extra hour let alone 12 hours, and longer. Even sometimes need to be talked back down. One thing he did do is take a holovid of the passed out Kass. Another with the passed out Kass and the focus cutting to Jorn's helmet looking at the recorder before the feed cuts. It's enough to wordlessly convey the message. Jorn has Kass now.

And speaking of Kass, "You're bound several ways over. No weapons. No communicator. A face I don't like. And threats that mean nothing to me. The only thing even keeping you alive is the fact I want something from your brother. And judging by your messages, he just wants you alive. I'm looking to parlay. You'll be returned unharmed," Jorn says this matter of factly to Kass. "He truly digs his heels in the sand. Then you pray to whatever higher power you believe in. Pray that I'm in a good mood. Because at the end of the day, I don't care what you do. Drink. Work for a hutt. Get fifty cybernetic upgrades. I don't care," Jorn looks out for a moment. "Same goes if you wind up floating in the endless sea of stars in the cold, without a proper suit. All situations I have the same indifference toward when it comes to -you-," he looks at Kass. "Search your feelings. Ask yourself 'Why didn't I just crush your skull? Press a blaster barrel to your temple and fire until the heat of the barrel starts to seer the mush of where your head used to be? You were passed out, and restrained, for a long time. And do yourself one favor -don't- over estimate your value in my eyes," Jorn doesn't want to kill the guy. In fact that's the last thing he wants. He would just sleep the same way if he makes it way back to his brother in a prisoner exchange, or if someone let him out of the airlock between planets.

This is the conversation Kass and Jorn have in private. The location determined by a mixture of Ellari and Jorn at minimum.
Athena Rykard, it would seem, is, although if he's only making an exception for Navi and Cayde, well, the two of them will just never know. He emerges from the inner sanctum, glancing briefly over at the birds they'd come on with a brief smile. Then he turns to Navi and Cayde.

"How have things been?" he says softly, so softly that barely either of them will be able to hear him.

He looks to Cayde, brows furrowing. "I think it would be best to convince the Junkyard owner to sell it to someone more reputable in the Mid Rim or Core Worlds," he says, "they may offer much less, but it's safer that way."

"Liar!!!" Kass screeches, nearly foaming at the mouth. "Let me out of here, you chakaar. Fight me, like a real Mandalorian! Then we'll see who's the better one....!"

"I'd prefer it!!" He writhes. "My brother won't cave to the likes of you! I bet you haven't even mustered gett'se to contact him!!"
Navi "Eventful. Do you know if there will be another Marshal coming? I was kind of expecting more leadership when I volunteered for this, even if it had to be from a medical bed. I was in no way prepared to completely and totally fill the Marshal's boots," Navi replies softly. "There are some Mandalorians in the colony at the moment. One of them is a student of the lightsaber, and I'm not sure what's going on with that, but we've done our best to teach him how to handle the lightsaber without hurting himself. I'm sure Cayde's told you all about the cortosis Wiis was trying to sell."
Cayde Alexis     Cayde frowns, that was...a bit less specific than he was hoping. Someone more reputable?

[Who then] he signs, glancing at Navi as she speaks, then back to his master.
Jorn Jorn just atres at Kass, "Volken told me plenty of what your brother said. You should talk to him. Also, I will fight a real mandalorian -when- I see a real mandalorian. Right now, I don't see one and there are no mirrors here. So, it's quite clear I'm looking at you and the shame your brother has brought your family. I truly hope you redeem it in ways your brother never can," and then he will look out to see where everyone else is at. Volken should talk to this guy.
Zetha Rumir No one has seen Zetha in at least 24 hours. It's very likely most people who come and go from the convent just figure they've missed her, or she's out running an errand. The truth is she hasn't left her room since returning from going out a night or two ago.

Today, however, she finally emerges. There's no telling what's gotten her to finally come out, but she pretty much immediately turns towards the inner sanctum using the card 'Crane' let her borrow so she could go there. She walks slowly. Almost timidly. Heading for the kitchen to figure out how to get food.
Athena Rykard doesn't answer Navi's question right away. "I'm sorry," he says sadly, "and I'm aware of Jorn of Bakura. He alone hasn't caused any trouble," he says, then looks to Cayde. "But yes, Cayde did tell me that there was someone trying to sell the cortosis and the trouble it's caused."

He looks to Cayde. "You must talk to the junkyard owner. Help her search for some more trustable buyers, who live in areas owned by the Republic. If the cortosis falls into the hands of Mandalorians, we cannot guarantee it won't be used to harm other Jedi," he says. "You could contact the RDC, or the Rangers. They may be able to help you."

Kass doesn't say anything for a moment. "What do you want," he hisses, "you said you want to parlay, what are you going to trade me for, you hu'tuun," he growls, "trading me a like a slave, you honorless... thief!!" He goes back to writhing.

The first person Zetha will see in the inner sanctum is an elderly human woman, watering some of the plants in the mess hall. When she sees the young Twi'lek, she startles. "Could've said you were coming in!" she grouches.
Navi "It's all right, Master. We'll make this work. Somehow. As for Wiis, I don't know if she can sell and get out before any other Mandalorians come around, but at least maybe she can sell out and retire. The way this whole situation has fallen apart around her, I think she's been through enough."
Cayde Alexis     Cayde frowns pensively. [Sell to the Republic] he suggests, wondering if that was possible. Surely they'd find good use for it. And if not they could sell it to someone trustworthy.
Ellari Zin     Ellari is somewhere on her ship on another planet in the sector, half listening to the muffled shouts from Kass with a satisfied smirk. She's heard rumors that Caine might be on Tenoo, though. She sends a private text message to Jorn's commlink.

    |I have heard rumors that Caine is on Tenoo....what is your plan, exactly?
Jorn <I don't know. I don't want the chaos to come to them. I would have liked to train more, but this man would have outed us. he admits honestly and he looks toward to Kass. <Where's Volken? We could use him.>
Zetha Rumir Zetha Rumir lets out a squeaked yelp when the woman shouts at her and then takes a few steps back. "Oh. I-I'm sorry..." Which only really gives her cause to perhaps retreat back to her room. She can get food later. Unbeknownst to some, she's got a few rations stuffed in her backpack - though they're running low. But she could likely survive off them a while longer. In fact, she turns as if to head right back out the doors she just came in through.
Athena Rykard nods. "Thank you Navi," He says, "I trust you. We can hope," He says, "and trust in the Force. I may return as Marshal sooner than expected. My.. strength and resolve returns," he says.

"It's certainly an option you can try," he says to Cayde, "my padawan. You have all you need to succeed. But now I must return to meditate. You may join me, or you may return to the colony."

"It's fine," the elderly woman comments. "You're Zetha, aren't you? I've seen you around. I heard you were replacing me! Well, they don't pay me anyway," she concedes. Then she waves dismissively at Zetha. "You've been cooped up, haven't you? Why don't you sit down and eat something," she asks. "What's the matter."

"Answer me!" Kass screams. "What the Kriff do you want!!"
Cayde Alexis     Cayde watches his master return to meditating, considering whether he should join him now or not. But ultimately he decides to go back to the junkyard and inform Wiis that he will sell the metal to the Republic, and give her the profits for sure. She deserved to know the outcome, anyway. First though, he Defense Coalition would probably be the quickest contact out here. They could then find someone involved in the trade commission.

<Thank you Master> he projects, and then starts to head back to Aklyrr.
Ellari Zin     |He was speaking to Er'gi, the last I saw. I think you could certainly use more training. But you're right, he could send more bounty hunters our way. Still, you need a plan. What do you plan to do with Kasseady? If Caine is on Tenoo and you want to leverage him, you'll have to return anyway. Maybe stay away from town, keep a low profile.
Jorn "Honorless is your brother. -You- are a drunk. And what I want is my business. I just need him to talk. No sudden rush for redits, weapons or anything else. You're worth some words, right?" Jorn asks back to the man. <Do we have a location on the big guy?> he'll shoot the message to Ellari. <<We need Volken to confront this guy. Maybe it'll breka through to thie guy.>>
Navi "Thank you, Master. One of us had better head back to the colony... will you take a raincheck on the meditation session?" Navi asks Master Rykard softly, glancing at Cayde. "You can stay with the Master if you like," she says invitingly. "I won't complain. You should probably catch up some anyway." Turning, she starts back toward the colony. "May the Force be with you, Master."
Zetha Rumir Zetha blinks, but then she turns back easily enough and gives a nod of her head. "Yes. That's me." She offers and then looks quizzical. "Re-replacing you? I don't...I think you're misinformed..." Is then spoken as she shoves hands into her pockets and then moves towards a table. "I just wasn't sure how to get food. Last time Crane got it for me, but I'm trying to not rely on him too much. Anyone really." Then she sighs. "Was it noticed? I was more hoping people would just have thought I was out and about running errand or something..." Then she takes time to give the very abridged cliff notes on what's happened in the last several days.
Athena Once Navi and Cayde have taken the birds back to the colony, they won't have to look very hard to find Wiis. Seems she'd been out and about looking for Cayde. She doesn't look happy. "Well? You gave it to them, right?" she says, hands on her hips, glancing from Cayde to Navi, and then back to Cayde again.

Kass grumbles and turns away from Jorn to lean his head against the back wall of his cell. "Good luck with that," he grumbles. "You'll need it." He curses under his breath. "If you've already told him about keeping me as hostage and he hasn't responded, then you're better off scouring every inch of the galaxy looking for him." he folds his arms. "I'm not going to tell him to talk to you. He wouldn't listen to me anymore then he'd listen to you, anyway."

"It's fine, it's fine," the old woman says, waving a hand dismissively again.

"Oh you poor thing, you tried for Thaarin? Please. Every, boy, girl or otherwise is pining for him, and you're out of his league. Most are, anyway. Say, why don't you give 'Crane' a chance? He likes you, obviously. I've never seen him talk to or spend much as much time with anyone as he does with you. He's a quiet boy, a wallflower. Hardly talks to anyone."

Speaking of which, 'Crane' suddenly enters, scanning the room for Zetha. When his electric indigo eyes find her, he nods. "You have a guest."
Cayde Alexis     Cayde arches a brow at Navi's suggestions, wondering if she's just trying to get rid of him at least for a little while. Well, it isn't going to work. He just shakes his head and gets back on one of the birds.

He doesn't give Wiis an answer, although he does look at her intentionally. However, after a moment, he simply brushes past her, and heads toward the comm center. Once he has heard from the Defense Coalition, then he will have a more definitive answer for her.
Ellari Zin     |I don't know. What are you trying to get him to do? Tell you where Caine is? He probably doesn't even know.
Jorn Jorn shakes his head. <He should talk to Kass about Caine. Because anything I say can't be trusted in their eyeds. Volken has their respect when I don't. That's a start.> he types back to Ellari thinking that's the best starting point for them.
Zetha Rumir "'Crane'? I...but he's a disciple. I thought...I mean it's likely that he's either out of my league or I'm not worthy..." Zetha says this when the old lady suggests such a thing. Out of Thaarin's league? Maybe. Maybe not. Zetha's still navigating life outside the junkyard. So far? She's failing miserably.

About to say something else is when the man with those electric indigo eyes appears and she prays to whoever is listening that he didn't just hear their conversation. "A guest? Me?" She worries her lower lip a little. "Do we know who it is?"
Navi Navi rolls her eyes as Cayde joins her. "I'm /not/ trying to get rid of you, Cayde... I know better than that," she says, not elaborating further as they return to the birds, and the colony.

And speak of the devil... she shrugs at Wiis's question. "Cayde had it. I don't know what he did with it. It's not like he tells me /everything/... actually, he barely tells me /anything/ most of the time. And for what it's worth, you may want to sell the junk business and retire to someplace safer than here. We can help you find a buyer who's above-board."
Athena Kass is will lean against the wall a bit, before suddenly scrabbling over to where Jorn is. "...If.. .if you know where he is... or even have the slightest inkling.... or, if he does somehow decide to respond and meet you ... I'll... I'll do whatever you want as long as you take me with you to see him." Now he didn't just sound like a pathetic drunk, he sounded like a pathetic, desperate, lonely drunk.

Wiis looks infuriated. "Come back here!" she screeches."I've had enough of being toyed with and ignored!!" She storms after Cayde, then regards Navi curiously. "Oh? And how much are they gonna offer me?"

"You're confused, dear. Only the Jedi are celibate." the old woman shakes her head. "He must certainly not think so. It's obvious, the way he acts around you. Besides, if 'Crane' is out of your league, then Thaarin is -definitely- not even on the playing field for you! Haven't you seen the company he keeps? Lady Xera, the coin purse of Aklyrr Bend, and that female Mandalorian woman! I heard she was like, a duchess or something. 'Crane' is an ordinary boy. Pretty, not very socially apt, but he's modest and used to be a street urchin..."

If 'Crane' had heard any of what she'd just said, he's not saying anything about it. He nods slightly and gestures for her to step out into the outer sanctum and reception area. There she'll see the Mandalorian in black beskar standing in the archway, leaning against the wall.
Cayde Alexis     Cayde doesn't respond to either Wiis or Navi, instead he makes his way to the comms center and starts trying to contact the Defense Coalition and ask if they can put him in contact with the Republic trade commission, and that he has something valuable but potentially dangerous to sell.
Ellari Zin     |Well you contact Volken, then. He is still on Tenoo,...I think.
Volken Mons "Where is the boy?"

Volken's arrival is about as subtle as a herd of drunken Bantha. He's at least slightly omre sober then he was at the junkyard but he'd been drinking so heavily prior to that...that it took the surprise arrival of his fellow Mandalorians to start getting his head on straight.

That and a purpose.

So when he arrives to find Navi and Wils, Er'gi probably in tow, his expression is quite displeased looking.

"He has something we need. That doesn't belong to him. I told him to give it up and he refused. A misbehaving foundling is no good foudnling. Now where he is?"
Navi Navi shrugs. "I have no idea. That's why we need to find them and contact them," she replies, almost casually, in a low voice. "Please listen... I'm trying to help you stay out of trouble. I don't think the Republic Security people around here even know about the cortosis, and I'd prefer to keep it that way. The guy in charge puts spice-addicted nerf herders to shame with his lack of manners and civil behavior. So can you please work with me here?"

Volken's arrival distracts her, and she looks up and up and up at him. "Hello again, Volken," she says softly. "If you mean Cayde, I last saw him headed toward the comms shack."
Zetha Rumir Zetha blinks and then she just lets everything the woman said sink in. Is being out of someone's league a good or bad thing? Honestly, Zetha doesn't know. People have been nice to her and she's only been screwing things up. It's somehow for the better, though. As Zetha's begun to try and figure out that she's impulsive for all the right reasons but in all the wrong ways. She can change though. And her past be damned.

As she's led out into the outer sanctum and lifts her head to see the Mandalorian in black beskar standing there, she stops mid-step. "You. I don't know how you found out this is where I stay, but your best bet is to turn around, walk away, and forget that I even exist." Her eyes narrow as she says this while she tries to block out the flash of memory that comes from their first and only meeting.
Athena "Hello?! Excuse me!" Wiis yells, trying to hobble after Cayde ( she's unsuccessful ).

Indeed, Er'gi is right behind Volken, looking rather unhappy as well. "Miss," Er'gi says, towering over Navi. "If you think Volken and I give a happabore's ass about what the Republic security detail thinks about us, you're sorely mistaken. Now, we -must- find the boy. You're deputy around here, aren't you?" He jabs her in the shoulder. "So find him. He's made himself awfully scarce the past couple of days and try as we might to find his Master, we have been unsuccessful."

"Speaking of security, we have a concern. My employer, has disappeared. And I have no idea where he might have gone. At first I thought he'd passed out drunk somewhere at some cantina. But it would appear that is not the case. It's been too long."

The Mandalorian seems genuinely hurt and confused. "I'm... I'm sorry?" he says, although it's clear he doesn't even know what he's apologizing for. "I thought you might want to see me. I didn't even get to catch your name, and you were so agreeable last night, I --"

"Did I hurt you? What happened?"
Volken Mons "I feel like I"m not working with all of th'information here and I don't like that." rumbles Volken who steps forward to wave Er'gi off from Navi. His voice rumbles with that hint of frustration and the under current of a displesaed threat ashe speaks, "Whatever he's doing he needs to stop."

Volken sighs, taking a deep breath to calm himself down though his armor creaks noisly under his bulk.

"What the hell does THe Republic have to do with this? Er'gi's right though. We don't care. They were here to purchase it and be on their way back to Mandalore. Can't you comm Cayde and tell him to get his butt back out here?>"

He then glances to Er'gi, "You talkin' about Kassady? Who cares... let's get this thing first and get this over with. He's bound to turn up. He can't be -that- incompetent..."
Zetha Rumir "And you're not getting my name. You're not getting -anything- from me. I never should have let it happen and I surely won't be making the same kriffing mistake again. So take your silver tongue, and your black beskar and your empty words and leave." Zetha says this. Her words are firm as they are fierce. She's not even sorry about it. She's also not going to give him any more of her time than she feels he's owed. Except for perhaps one more thing. "Oh, and don't worry. I didn't see you long enough for you to leave any impression on my mind aside from what I hope will be your backside when you turn and go." Her arms cross against her chest as she watches, just to make sure the Mandalorian does - in fact - leave.
Navi "I wasn't talking to you or about you, actually... I was talking to her," Navi replies to Er'gi, resting her hands on her hips and keeping her temper in check with some effort. "And I neither know nor care what the Republic Security detail thinks about you and your people. But if you want my help, with /anything/, you damned sure don't talk to me that way. So grow a civil tongue inside that bait bucket on your shoulders before I decide other matters demand my attention as of five standard minutes ago."

She glances after Wiis, then looks to Volken. At least he's someone she knows. "I can try, but Cayde has a habit of not answering comms," she says. "If his temper takes over, he just ignores me. Also, you're not the only one not working with all of the information here. Cayde might have most of the pieces of this puzzle, if we're lucky. Like I said before, he's probably in the comms shack." Shrugging, she turns and walks that way.
Jorn "Why?" Jorn looks at her. "Your brother ignored you. Just turned on you and I'm the dishonorable one? Because you worked for a hutt? That's cold. Or is there something you want to share with the rest of us?" Jorn asks Kass as he just seems to be uninterested in those pleas. "He just ignored you with such finality. Doesn't sound like family, does it?" Jorn asks and he looks at the man. "And you called me honorless..."
Athena "Hmph!" Er'gi says, "The Republic is mad! Letting children run their so called colony." He turns to head towards the comms shack. "Fine. But you may be surprised," he says to Volken. "Say, where are your companions? They seem to have disappeared!"

Once they arrive at the comms shack, Er'gi flings the door wide open and points at Cayde. "You, boy!" he shouts, pointing. "Have you an answer for us from your Master, youngling?" he bellows to the padawan. "No matter. We are taking the cortosis. Come, be reasonable."

For a second, he seems speechless. "What do you mean? I meant what I said," he says, "I was lonely, and you seemed lonely as well. I thought you might have wanted me. I'm sorry I kissed you, but you didn't resist." But when it seems clear that Zetha still doesn't ever want to see him again, his tone hardens. "He left you, didn't he? So you're blaming me. For giving you what you wanted, when -he- couldn't. For -your- mistakes. Well, then good for him. He's much better off without you." Then with a swish of cape and hood, he leaves.

Both 'Crane' and the old woman stand there, saying nothing. The silence is terrible. Finally, 'Crane' frowns, and approaches her. "Zetha, what did you do..."

"I did no such thing!" Kass protests angrily and desperately. "Listen to me. I don't.. My mother won't see me. My father died long ago. The rest of clan Viszla despises me, and it is because of him." He trembles slightly. "If he is sorry, I will accept his apology. If he is not..." He trails off weakly.
Volken Mons "Let me handle this, Er'gi! You just got yourself chewed out by a girl a quarter yer size!"

Volken reaches a hand up towards Er'gi's shoulder to try and calm him but his grip is also not gentle either to try and forcibly get the other giant to relax and back off.

"You don't have the experience dealing with the Jedi like I do!"

He huffs, frustrated now as he glares at the other Mandalorian, "I"m trying to help you here. ANd I don't know where Jorn or Ellari have gotten off to. I don't care either. This whole Dark Saber mess has dragged me back and forth across the galaxy when I could be making credits and vacationing in the sauna with twi'lek entertainers on Canto Bight! I've had it!"

He then looks towards Cayde but also waits for Navi to enter before moving forward. "He's right though, boy. GIve us the cortosis. It's not yours to hold onto when others are here for it for a business deal that has nothing to do with the jedi or the republic."
Navi Navi gives Volken a faint smile as she steps through the door he'd held for her. "Cayde? I don't know half of what's going on, but Mr. Mons is looking for the cortosis. Something about a purchase deal. The rude one seems particularly interested in it," she adds, glancing at Er'gi. "Do you know what in frell they're talking about?"
Cayde Alexis     Cayde had sent a message to the Defense Coalition just a few moments ago, when Jorn and Er'gi, and Navi come marching in. He stares at up the two towering Mandalorians his gaze moving constantly between the two of them as they yell at him. Well, Volken -used- to know he had an actual name.

Anyway, he doesn't relent. Instead, he fixes them both with a determined expression. [You are wrong...it has everything...] he signs, shaking his head. [Master said no]
Zetha Rumir Zetha waits until the Mandalorian is gone and likely well out of ear shot before she turns and looks to both 'Crane' and the old woman. "Everything wrong." She says simply as an answer to 'Crane's question before shifting to try and push past them both. "One day. I just want one day to feel like everything is alright again." She says this as she makes her way to the room she's been staying in. Evidently this was not the day to emerge from her solace. Nothing will ever be all right again. She's beginning to realize this.
Athena Er'gi grumbles, but complies, letting Volken take over.

"Believe me, I don't like this anymore than you do," He says in Mando'a, "but it is what it is! The sooner we can get out of here with the cortosis in hand, the better!" Er'gi seems annoyed when Navi calls him the rude one but he doesn't comment.

Surprisingly, he does not explode with anger when Cayde refuses to give him the cortosis. His body posture suddenly changes, and he semi-kneels so that he's at eye level with Cayde. "Now, my boy, ad'ika. This matter may seem so important to you. It may seem like it's your right to be involved. However, you are confused, and this business deal is beyond what you could hope to handle well, alone. You do not know anything about our politics, and that is alright. I do not expect someone like you to know anything about it, or to want to know anything about it."

The old woman frowns. As Zetha is walking away, the old woman says to 'Crane,' "You should probably stay away from her, you know. Just in case getting blamed for something that isn't your fault isn't something you like."

'Crane' ignores the old woman and goes after Zetha anyway. He reaches for her arm. "Zetha. Zetha!"

"It can. If you do something about it." He pauses. "I know it's hard. But if you just give up every time you mess up, things will never get better. They'll only get worse. You can apologize to him. You can apologize to Wiis. You can be better. I -know- you can."
Volken Mons "Er'gi I said let -me- handle it!" That's snapped at the other large Mandalorian but it's done in Man'doa.

"He doesn't know you. He doens't care. You can't 'intimidate' Jedi. They train their lives to be all stoic and controlled. He'll just go into a trance on you."

As to Cayde, well VOlken's been drunk so his filter is off.

But something seems to click and Volken steps forward and again reachs out to pull Er'gi back while he addresses Cayde "It doesn't -matter- what your master said, Cayde. You need to stop speaking in half sentences and unfinished thoughts. -What- is going on. Why are you holding onto the cortosis? There are other buyers coming for it and they may not just want to sit and yell at you for getting into something you shouldn't be involved in. Stop speaking in half statements and say what is happening and what's on your mind. -Plainly-. Otherwise we need to take it from you so they can finish their business and leave."
Navi "Force, what a mess..." Navi murmurs, shaking her head slowly. "Volken, can you explain just what this deal over the cortosis is all about? Politics and all?" she asks, politely, though there is a hint of impatience in her tone, one she struggles to control. "I want to understand just who wants that stuff, and why it's so important to them, and I'd be grateful for some insight into your culture as well."
Cayde Alexis     Er'gi isn't wrong. Volken isn't wrong, either. But it's not as simple as they think it is. When the two large Mandalorians seem to try understanding his perspective, he stares at the ground, appearing rather distraught and frustrated.

[I know...but I can't] he tells them. Some of those who know him might feel a distinct notion of helplessness.
Zetha Rumir "I plan on apologizing to Wiis. I..." Zetha sighs. "I tried apologizing to Thaarin. It didn't work. But he's right. I couldn't wait five minutes for him before some sweet talking lonely Mando had me lured and tempted. So I made that right just now. I just...I haven't had time. I feel like I haven't had a moment to breathe before something else goes wrong. I'm not giving up. I'm just slowly putting things back together." Then her gaze shifts to the old woman before going to 'Crane' and then shifting to the floor. "She's right though. It's best you stay away from me. Thaarin got caught in a cross fire. I won't let that happen to anyone else."
Volken Mons "It's a substance that our armorers can use to enhance beskar, the metal that our armor is made out of." explains Volken, apparently having no issue with offering up the details of his peoples ways.

"From what I understand, Kassady - the other Mandalorian - was looking to get his hands on it and bring it back since it'd make his reputation stronger. His rep and that of his brothers is in the gutter due to problems of their own making. Er'gi here was hired to come along for the job. I don't particularly care about Kassady but I do care about Er'gi -and- also the simple fact that it's none of the Republic's or the Jedi's business. Now it's very valuable. Er'gi thinks there are other buyrs. Could be The Hutts - but it's trouble ifsomeone shows who is expecting a trade only to find it being held for no legitimate reasons."

Volken looks back to Cayde. His brow furrows in some annoyance and frustration but he doensn't seem as outright angry anymore.

"You can. This situation isn't jsut about you." he suggests, "It's everyone here. You have to make decisions on your own but you also can't do everything on your own. Your co-deputy with Navi now. You need to start thinking like a partner. Not someone on their own."
Cayde Alexis     Cayde shifts uncomfortably for a moment, pondering. Finally--

[The Order does not trust you...you use it to harm the Jedi]

    There, there it was.
Athena Er'gi steps back, grumbling slightly but holding both his hands up placatingly. "Wiis arranged for us to come here and buy the cortosis," Er'gi explains to Navi, nodding in agreement with what Volken had said. "Kasseady, my employer, is an armorer. Cortosis weave is commonly laced through beskar, which is why he's interested in purchasing it. I'm outsourced help. That's the simple part. Now, there's other parts to it, that I likely shouldn't share plus, you'd likely not care to know about it anyway."

Er'gi grumbles. "I'm not going to make an executive decision without Kasseady. But you're right! I can't believe they're putting all the responsibility on this youngling and the Sephi girl. They're too young!"

"I'm not talking about Thaarin," the Tholothian man says, "I'm talking about the Mandalorian. It wasn't his fault, and you didn't have to tell him off like that. Do you think Thaarin would have wanted you to blame him, anyway?"

His indigo eyes blaze. "You don't need to worry about me, Zetha. I can take care of myself. But why wait?" He gestures out the window, and Zetha will be able to see an angry and upset Wiis banging on the door the comms center. Unfortunately, no one is really caring to listen to her right now.

"The sooner you fix your prior mistake the less time there is for something else bad to happen. You complain that I treat you too well, but I'm not doing this because I think you deserve it. Once a wise man said, 'Treat an individual how they ought to be and could be, and they will become what they ought to be and could be.' I know you have it in you, Zetha."
Volken Mons "Mandalorians don't trust the Jedi. That's ancient history."

Volken's response is quick but even toned. "But you don't see Mandalorian's going around trying to withhold your weapons form you do you? They're yours. The cortosis benefits our armor. It's that simple. It shouldn't be a question of trust. It's not the Jedi's to keep and unless there's some offensive against you arising en masse from Mandalore then there's no justification outside of fear and panic to jump into the middle of something that doesn't involve you."
He turns towards Er'gi and rumbles back in Mando'a "They're young but they're what we have to deal with. If you start treating with them as adults and not kids then they might be mroe receptive to what you have to say. And when this is over with I"m going to plant you into the ground like a tree for making -me- have to be the voice of reason here..."
Navi "You probably already know at least some of this, but cortosis has some unique and vexing properties when it comes to the Jedi," Navi says to Volken. "At best, it can turn aside lightsaber blades, or at least prevent them from cutting it. At worst... it can short out a lightsaber on contact. That's why the Order doesn't like the trade in cortosis ore."

"I understand your reasoning, Cayde, but the Mandalorian people have lots of beskar armor already. What difference will one little chunk of cortosis really make?" she asks Cayde gently.
Zetha Rumir Zetha blinks and then she frowns a little. "You're right." Maybe she can find the Mandalorian and apologize. She still isn't going to give him the time of day but it's less about what happened with Thaarin and more about her needing to find her place. When 'Crane' gestures, she'll follow it and indeed spot Wiis outside. "Oh Wiis..." The woman rarely - if ever - leaves the junkyard except to go buy something. She still listens to 'Crane' and soon looks back to him and gives him a smile and a nod. "You're right. I'm trying to fix things. I may be misstepping, but I'll get my footing and make things right."

Or so she hopes.

This isn't for anyone else but herself. Focus on the self and everything else should fall into place. She read that somewhere recently. Aside from all the crazy fluffy romance books she looses herself within. And with all of that said, she gives a nod to 'Crane' and then shifts her path. Heading out of the convent, past the outer sanctum and over to where Wiis is banging on the door.

"...Hey Wiis..."
Cayde Alexis     [Beskar blocks...but this does more] Cayde points out to both Navi and Volken. [Master said no] he repeats again. Whether he agreed with them or not, he needed to respect Rykard's wishes. [...we must do what is best for the Order] the padawan insists.
Athena Er'gi just seems amused when Volken threatens him. "And why's that, vod? It looks good on you! Consider it character growth..." he chuckles. But when Cayde still refuses, he shakes his head. "Looks like we're just going to have to circle back on this, Volken. Perhaps I ought to find Kasseady and see if he is amenable to forging the armor and then finding a way to sell it in Republic Space..." And with that, the two of them probably wander out of the comms center. They'll probably pass Wiis, and Zetha too, but won't pay any attention to either of them.

'Crane' nods, and steps aside to let Zetha out of the convent so she can go talk to Wiis.

Wiis looks angry at first when she first sees Zetha. "I hope you've not made yourself a nuisance in town while away," she grumbles. But at least she doesn't tell her to bug off.
Navi "Maybe so, but we've also got a responsibility to the colony... we're Deputy Marshals, remember?" Navi says gently to Cayde. "A big part of that job is protecting the colony and its citizens from danger. People who are a lot less reasonable are going to come hunting that stuff, and I'm wondering if making that stuff someone else's problem won't keep even more trouble away from here."

But Er'gi and Volk are leaving, and that window of opportunity is gone. "Not that it matters /now/. Hope you brought some armor, 'cause we may be looking at /real/ trouble," she adds.
Zetha Rumir Zetha's about to retort, but then she stops herself. "I've made a few mistakes, like any mortal person does. But I'm still alive, so that has to count for something." She says to the Zabrak woman. Then she takes a breath. "Wiis. I'm sorry. Truly. I'm sorry I lied. Sorry I took the cortosis. I was trying to do right but in all the wrong ways." A pause and then she continues. "And I know..." It's then that the two who are leaving the comms center walk out but ignores them both. Maybe that's for the best. "I feel like it's all going to work itself out. But more than that...I miss you and Twozee. If nothing else, I'd like to come visit. Work on some projects...."
Cayde Alexis     [I will send it away] Cayde assures Navi, glancing down at the comms equipment he had just been using. Surely, the Coalition would respond soon, and someone would be sent to collect.

He watches the two of them take their leave, and follows suit a few moments later. He should try to explain something to Wiis. But he finds her in a conversation with Zetha, so he stands there waiting patiently until they are finished.
Navi "Until then, you'd better find a very good secret hiding place for that stuff. People will be looking for it," Navi replies to Cayde, following him out of the comms shack.

Spying Zetha speaking to Wiis, she pauses to lightly clasp one of Zetha's hands in a show of support.
Athena Wiis just stands there, blinking and staring into empty space for a moment.

Then she groans. "Look, now isn't a good time to talk about this, okay? But I never wanted you to leave the junkyard forever. You can come back and work on some projects, but you can't stay in your room yet. The house is a mess, and the front door is broken down. Don't--! Ask about that right now." Then she sighs, and starts heading back towards the junkyard. Maybe she's not totally telling the truth about why Zetha can't come back to her room right now, but maybe it didn't matter. This was progress. 'Crane' had been right.

Wiis doesn't notice Cayde standing there, but nothing's stopping him from confronting her as she heads back towards the junkyard.
Cayde Alexis     [I will hide it...not to worry] Cayde replies to Navi.

He doesn't follow Wiis, though. After all, she'd been the one demanding answers from him. So perhaps she has lost interest now. Cayde is fine with that. Instead, he turns to Zetha. [You are ok] he signs. It was meant to be a question, although that might not be immediately clear.
Zetha Rumir "Right. Come to the junkyard, fix the front door, make sure Twozee is still doing good. Start gutting a spaceship. Don't stay in my room. I can handle that." Zetha smiles and then watches as Wiis turns and heads towards the junkyard. At some point, she felt her hand grasped and glances over to Navi. "Hey Navi." She offers to the woman and then sighs out in something akin to relief. "Well. That's progress at least." It was also, apparently, a slightly overwhelmed Wiis and so Zetha could appreciate not talking about things too seriously right now.

Now if Zetha were a pissed off Mandalorian. Where would she go? "I need to go handle some other business, but I do hope to see you later. I think one thing I've been missing is a female friend. I hope you don't mind filling the role." Then she grins, and then she takes off...in some direction. Cantina likely.
Navi Navi waves to Wiis in passing as the older woman walks away. She smiles at Zetha, nodding. "Later. And I don't mind. At all. Take care, okay?" she says warmly as the Twi'lek girl moves off.

Her smile fades, and she looks toward the tram station. "I really need to check my calendar," she murmurs, slowly shaking her head. "I want to know just how long I've got to eat nasty local karking fish and try to keep this disaster area from imploding again..."
Athena As Zetha is heading towards a local cantina, she'll see the Tholothian man jog out to cross her path one more time. He reaches for her hand and squeezes it very gently if she lets him, and if she looks in her hand she'll find a flower, and a datacard.

"You did good," he says, softly, "congratulations. And the datacard - there's contact information on it, for a doctor who resides at the colony." He says. "Maybe you could talk to him, just once. He is famous in the Republic for being a very well reputable psychologist and counselor. I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you asked."
Cayde Alexis     Cayde deflates slightly when Zetha doesn't even seem to notice him. Oh, well...it was just typical, he supposed. He does notice 'Crane' giving her a flower. He really seemed to like giving people flowers. What was his real name, anyway?
Zetha Rumir Zetha smiles, a thing that finally reaches her eyes. "Thank you, Crane. For the flower, and the card and...well...everything." She then hugs him. And to be the one to initiate the hug is a rare thing for Zetha. "I don't know where that Mandalorian would have gone, but if I can find him soon I'll apologize to him. Either way, I'll be back at the convent soon." This said, softly, since she's still all huggy and so her lips might be closer to the Tholothian's ear and she doesn't want to seem like she's yelling.
Athena 'Crane' glances over at Cayde, and senses the young padawan's presence in his mind. His real name? Still too buried. He trusts Cayde, but thinks him awfully accident prone and rather inexperienced when it comes to espionage, and he thinks the young padawan might accidentally reveal too much at some point.

He notices him deflate when Zetha ignores him, so he offers him a brief smile, and yes, another flower.

And then Zetha hugs him out of the blue and whispers in his ear. He seems shocked, and very taken aback. It takes him a couple seconds to pat her on the back awkwardly in return. He doesn't say anything in return, instead, he just nods imperceptibly and starts heading back towards the convent, looking incredulous and a little embarrassed. Maybe Zetha will find it cute.
Zetha Rumir Zetha's not really sure how to read that. 'Crane' is - to her - quite imperceptible about everything. Flowers are nice, but he gives them to everyone so...it's just endearing. As he heads back towards the convent, Zetha then spies Cayde and gives him a little wave. But she has something on her mind to finish so she just signs to him <Busy. Talk later.> and offers a smile before she turns back to continue her mission of Find 'Jasper'.
Cayde Alexis     The smile and offered flower doesn't seem to lift Cayde's spirits, and he doesn't accept it. How could anyone call that trust, if he wouldn't even tell him his real name?

Well, at least Zetha seems to be okay. At least more okay than she was.
Athena As the Tholothian man heads back towards the convent, the young padawan will sense a thought projection as he leaves.

<One day> he tells Cayde. <One day you'll know>
