| Zetha Rumir | Zetha sits on a bench just outside the hospital. She's likely here to see Cayde, or maybe she's just opting to be nearby in case there's a friendly face that comes around. She could also be waiting for Doctor Cassias - there's a multitude of reasons. But as she sits, she has a holoreader and is currently immersed in the text on the screen, a little smile on her face while waiting for whatever else to come. At least it's sunny and there doesn't seem to be a threat of rain on this fine afternoon. |
| Navi | "Have you gotten to the good part yet?" Navi asks Zetha from almost directly over her shoulder. The Sephi had been approaching the hospital, probably to visit Cayde, and spied Zetha seated outside, clearly immersed in something interesting on her holoreader. |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha jumps a little at the sound of that voice even though shortly after she realizes it's Navi. "What? Oh. Haha. Sort of? I mean the main character is likely about to get their heart stomped on but..." She then flushes a little and sets the holoreader aside. "How are you, Navi? Here to visit Cayde?" |
| Navi | "As usual," Navi replies, her tone as much mild resignation as reply. "I'll be glad when he can go back to Whatever Bend. This place has got to be driving him half-crazy. So, what'cha readin'? Anything I've heard of?" |
| Zetha Rumir | "What's so good about Whatever Bend? You never seem to talk good about it and yet you seem to always want to go there..." Zetha offers and then gives a shrug. "Oh, uhm, it's a book called Starlit Desires. It's...uhm...well I guess it depends on if you read romance novels." She says that last bit sort of sheepishly. |
| Navi | "I'm /required/ to go there... I'm part of the colony initiative that planted that little slice of hell on Tenoo. And frankly, /nothing's/ good about it," Navi replies. "I'm still there only because it's my duty as Deputy Marshal to protect the colonists from criminals and other dangers. Some of which are themselves." |
| Zetha Rumir | "Ah..." Zetha offers and then she looks a bit thoughtful. "I need to find a place to live that isn't the junkyard, but isn't the convent either. I don't really want to travel here and back to anywhere over and over again. But I also need a job...at least until Wiis has the junkyard settled again. Or maybe she'll just give me some of the credits. Even though I told her I didn't want anything. Or she might want me to come back to the junkyard with her..." The book is apparently forgotten. Likely a good thing. Most people consider romance novels trashy anyway. |
| Navi | "Much as I hate to recommend living in Whatever Bend, there's always stuff that needs fixing there," Navi says, a bit reluctantly. "You could make a pretty tidy living just doing repair gigs. Especially if it's administration equipment, since we've recently become very short of an expert tech." |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha seems a little thoughtful and then shrugs. "I'll think about it. I need to talk to Wiis. Get some other things sorted..." She offers this much more before giving a glance around the area. "Maybe I'll go visit Whatever Bend with you sometime..." |
| Navi | "Don't go unless you mean it... the tram ride's a long one. You might want to ask about guest accomodations, just in case you run out of daylight," Navi recommends softly. |
| Zetha Rumir | "What about when I actually get there? To Whatever Bend..." At this point Zetha likely thinks that's the name of the place. "I'd have to find a place to sleep there too, yeah?" Asking this while she gathers her holoreader. Thinking maybe she's hungry enough to eat hospital cafe food. |
| Navi | "That's what I said," Navi replies, still softly. "If all else fails, there's room for two in my hab-shelter." She rolls her eyes with a wry smile. "Barely. I have to go to the mess tent to change my /mind/, but it keeps the rain out." |
| Zetha Rumir | "I'm sure I'll be able to find something." Zetha says, then she considers something but she keeps that consideration to herself. Then, as if hit by a sudden wave of something, she says "Thanks for being my friend, Navi. I'm sorry if I've ever been a pain in the ass..." |
| Navi | "Everyone is, sometimes. Don't even give it another thought," Navi replies, shrugging. "Let's worry about finding you that job and a place to stay." |
| Cayde Alexis | Just as Zetha and Navi are discussing, Cayde walks by the bench they're sitting on but doesn't seem to notice them. They may notice that he has that vacant expression on face again, like the one he'd had when Zetha had swiped the cortosis from him. |
| Zetha Rumir | "Right. Seems like a good idea." It's nice, actually, in Zetha's mind to not be asked a hundred times in a thousand ways if she's okay. To not be asked about certain people. She can just...have a conversation. Then she spots Cayde. Last time she saw that look on his face he could have hurt her, but, she was trying to pull something from him. This time, she stands and motions for Navi to follow her. Trying to catch up with Cayde, placing a hand on his shoulder. Gently. "Cayde. Hey. Where you wandering off to?" |
| Navi | Navi watches Cayde pass by. "Uh-oh... I'd know that look anywhere," she murmurs, reaching out with the Force. << Cayde? What are you doing? I don't know if you should be in bed or not, but I don't think you should be wandering around in a daze. >> |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde stops when Zetha puts a hand on his shoulder and Navi reaches into his mind. Fortunately, this time he doesn't lash out at Zetha. But he does at least look to be in better health than last time. He looks to her as if he has something to say in response to her question but doesn't end up expressing it. The response to Navi is somewhat petulant but not outright hostile as before. <I'm not dazed> he protests. |
| Zetha Rumir | "Well. You didn't try to punch me or anything...so I'm going to count that as a win." Zetha says this with a smile that actually reaches her eyes. "You had this look in your eyes, you had it when we were dealing with the cortosis. I think I might have seen it a time or two before..." She looks between Cayde and Navi. "Is it okay to ask what it is? Is it something we -should- be concerned about if we see it?" And how does someone not able to use the Force help him when he's in that state. Zetha might look like she wrestled a bantha next time. |
| Navi | << You /looked/ dazed. And when you get that look on your face, I know it's time to get worried, >> Navi replies to Cayde. Glancing at Zetha, she offers, "Yes, and yes." |
| Cayde Alexis | [Winning is good] Cayde replies to Zetha's comment about counting that as a win. He nods, and then shakes his head. There is a pause....really, he wants to explain, but it's such a hard thing to just...explain. He has a hard enough time just explaining normal things. [...nothing to worry] he finally just leaves it at that. |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha simply nods her head to what Cayde signs. "Well. I'll be careful if I ever see you in that state and no one else is around." This is what she can offer the man, and the fact that she doesn't push when he says not to worry...well. Maybe Navi can explain it later. "You look to be doing much better, Cayde. How are you feeling?" A look back to Navi then as well. "I have another holocopy of this book...if you want this one to read. But again, it's...romantic stuff. Cheesy hero and heroine type of things. If you're interested. I can understand if not though." |
| Navi | "I'll take your word for it, then," Navi replies softly to Cayde. "But if you get an itch to explain things, don't be a stranger. We'll listen without judging. Or at least Zetha will. I... well, I'll try. Real hard." "I'll have a look, sure. What can it hurt?" Navi asks Zetha, with a faint smile. |
| Cayde Alexis | [I want to] Cayde informs them. [But don't know how] he continues. [Yes I am feeling good] he answers Zetha when she asks how he's feeling. When she starts talking about the book she's reading, he peers at it as well. What was she reading? [You like it] he asks. |
| Zetha Rumir | "I do. It's good so far. I've got a small collection of romance novels...books on technical stuff that I study. And I'm researching things about the Force. Life outside the junkyard has been...eye opening in a lot of ways." Zetha offers as she hands the holoreader to Navi. "Honestly sometimes reading was the only past time I had when things were slow, and in the rare times Wiis wasn't yelling at me about something." She then looks at Cayde a bit more directly. "Could you try? Like I said, you seem...distant...like you're looking at something far away and walking towards it. Is it visions or something? I think people who use the Force can have those...right?" Like she said...she's been -trying- to study things. |
| Navi | "Cayde, we're both telepathic. You can share what's on your mind directly with us," Navi urges gently. "Then you don't have to worry about trying to put it into words." She gently accepts the holoreader from Zetha, producing her datapad and a connecting cable and proceeding to download a copy of the novel. "Thank you. I'll have a look at this tonight." |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde looks pensive a moment. [Somewhat...yes] he signs. [Others thinking...and I can help] he attempts. [...I want to help] he adds as an amendment to that. He nods toward Navi. [I know...but have to get better] You know, at that words thing. His gaze follows the holoreader a moment. [Romance...do you have some...you romance with the disciple...or you romance with blue man] It was meant to be a question, although that might not be immediately clear. |
| Zetha Rumir | "Your welcome. Let me know if you like it and want to read anything else." Zetha offers with a smile. Then she looks to Cayde once more. "So you...you get these thoughts from others. That they want help or maybe need help. And you want to help them. But why does it send you into a sort of...daze? Or like a trance...and I suppose your letting the...link of the thoughts...lead you?" She's trying to not only ask questions but maybe help fill in the words Cayde can't really sign. Then she sees those last signs from him and she blushes a bright purple in her cheeks. "I...that is..." She then deflates a little. "Thaarin and I aren't romantic. We...can't...be romantic. For a lot of reasons. As for the disciple. Well..." She then shakes her head. "I need to work on myself. I mean I like 'Crane'...but I need to like myself first..and..to be honest I don't like myself. It's one of the things Dr. Cassias is going to help me work on." |
| Navi | "I see. If it's urgent enough, we can work on the words later," Navi observes softly, nodding to Cayde. "If not, I'll try to help any way I can. Same as I will with 'Crane' and Zetha and the doctor." Which sounds like a very complicated situation, but what can she do but stand ready to assist? |
| Cayde Alexis | Something like that. Cayde nods at Zetha's explanation. [Okay yes like that] [And then...you romance with him] he seems to want to finish that story. For some reason, it would appear he likes that idea. [After you like yourself] He nods to Navi. [Blue man help me with words] he tells her. |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha's cheeks stay purple and she gets a little shy seeming. "Maybe. If he wants to date me, I wouldn't be opposed to it. Crane wants me to stay close...and he keeps saying the likes me. I just...I don't want to read into it too much. Get my hopes up like..." She then laughs and gestures, "Like some do in these romance stories.." She looks to Navi then. "I'm sorry I bailed on you the other day. I know Dr. Cassias was hoping you'd talk to me after he did but...I was pretty done with being social. After the argument with Thaarin and...kriff's sake I still need to find him and apologize. Like properly apologize...and let him know I want his friendship. Need it even. Just like I need you both. I'm..." She huffs a little. "Rambling. I'm rambling. Sorry." |
| Navi | Navi stifles a chuckle. "I'm not sure Blue Man's /helping/ you, to be honest," she observes. "Your signs are shakier than usual. Maybe it's just part of the process..." She lifts a placating hand toward Zetha. "It's okay, Zetha. I have days like that myself. It's not too bad, though. It's just on the ones that end in 'y'. And keep rambling. If you can't make the words fit together neatly, rambling is better than locking them in a closet in the back of your mind." |
| Cayde Alexis | [It can be good for him] Cayde replies to Zetha's musings regarding 'Crane'. [And he can become good...even better] ...Maybe even stop being a criminal, if he found someone truly special like that. His expression falls when Navi mentions that it seems some level of regression has occurred. [But he helped me...I am better...right] He really hopes so. [And blue man...is not 'blue man'...is Thaarin...is sign name] he tries to explain to Navi. |
| Zetha Rumir | "I think your signing is getting better. But I haven't known you that long...so...small comparison I guess." Zetha figured 'Blue Man' was Thaarin mostly because he used that descriptor talking about her romantic options. Not that she really HAS romantic options. Just people in her life who make her think of chapters in the novels she reads. At least she shares that with 'Crane'. The liking of such novels. "I've been in a whirlwind for a while. But I think things are starting to settle down. I can focus on things one at a time and not feel like I'm being pulled five places at once. Or something. Anyway..." She waves a hand dismissively. "Something will work out." Or she can be single her whole life. That's an option too right? |
| Navi | "I know who 'blue man' refers to, Cayde. Your signs just seem... less fluent now than they were before, is all," Navi replies softly, a hint of a smile coming to her lips. "I'll give it a chance, though. It might just take time to integrate with what you already know." She turns that faint smile on Zetha. "Speaking of things that can take time. Don't be afraid to let things take their course without pushing for something to happen. Some things just take time to come together." |
| Cayde Alexis | [If you want it] Cayde replies to Zetha. [I do and I will] On being celibate, that is. He sighs, deflating a bit at Navi's comment. [Okay....but I say more now] he points out. Before, he'd barely contribute to conversations like these. There is a pause, and he glances off into the distance for a second. [I go help now] And then he rushes off again. As whether he'd been discharged from his hospital stay or not remains to be seen. |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha gives a nod to Navi. "No, I think that's what's been catching me. Things escalating too quickly. But...I am stepping back. Taking time. And focusing on myself first." She offers this and then looks to Cayde. Though she can't really say much before he's moving off to go to the thing with the helping. "I should get back to the convent. Without anyone to see at the hospital, I think my meal will need to come from there." She offers this to Navi. "Take it easy, yeah?" Before she, too, scoots off in the direction of said convent. |
