Athena With the twin Mandalorians being held hostage by the other three, the doctor has gathered leadership (minus Xera and the Arkanians, who seem to be missing), to discuss next steps. He'd invited Zetha as well, but she likely wouldn't have gotten the invite in as timely as a fashion as the rest.

Sequestered in the hearth room of the inn the doctor is currently staying on, he bids them all to sit, then begins with, "Based off of what Cayde had said about one of their minds being less than a year old, plus everything else we've learned about them so far, it seems reasonable to assume that at least one of them is a clone."

He sighs deeply. "This doesn't bode well. Any living bred in isolation like that and then suddenly exposed to reality -must- be unstable. I need to study him," he says, "before any us try to get answers out of him."

He looks to Pike, and then Navi, and then to Cayde. "I hope you understand," he says, "and I hope that I can count you all to handle him - if he gets out of control."

By now, the doctor would have made his intentions to the Mandalorians known, and very clear. He wanted them to release the supposed clone, into Republic custody. However, their interests might not have aligned.
Pike Windu     Pike tuns away from the others to take a swig from a flask he's hiding in his great coat.
Athena Meanwhile, the identical barons remain in Jorn, Volken, and Ellari's custody, although Kasseady probably has been given some freedom to roam - but not without supervision.

The other likely remains locked away somewhere, but his relentless asking about the Dark Saber hasn't stopped.
Zetha Rumir Zetha walks into the private room shorly after Soren has begun talking. She looks around at those gathered and then she flushes. "Sorry I'm late. Just got your message a little bit ago, Doctor." Then she looks for an empty seat and takes it. But she stays quiet, for sure she'll catch up or on with anything in no time.
Navi "I'm not sure whether to hope the Mandalorians agree or disagree," Navi observes, a bit wearily, from her seat beside Cayde. "But if we're needed, we'll be there. We always are."
Ellari Zin     Ellari isn't quite sure if turning the twin and the clone over to Republic custody is a good idea. But ultimately, she'd leave that decision to Jorn. They're his prisoners, after all. It's also up to Jorn whether he eventually lets the clone see the Darksaber or not. However, his incessant demands are quite annoying, so she probably knocked him out once or twice.
Cayde Alexis     Cayde nods in response to Soren, frowning pensively. Of course the Arkanians would choose to conveniently disappear. But since they're nowhere to be found, would that mean they're not in their lab?

[We can search the lab] he suggests.
Jorn Jorn is conflicted as to what to do. Clones are illegal. So, it would be okay if he just puts two blaster bolts in the temple of the clone. But if they have memory somehow, that serves him in a grander scale. He's conflicted. Rage therapy versus potential honor returning to his name. Yes, Jorn knows the choice that should win, but that doesn't mean it's not hard.

"Do they have memory?" he asks openly to anyone that could answer this one.
Athena "Pike," The doctor says solemnly. "I need to know you're focused, and all in." He nods to Zetha, and gestures for her to sit. "I want you to be a part of the study that I conduct on this supposed clone," he says to Zetha, "if the Mandalorians allow it."

"We'll figure out the lab part later. I actually don't know where it is. My guess is its somewhere quite inaccessible to all of us."

Kasseady growls at Jorn. "Of course they have memory! He's his own person.... I think."
Ellari Zin     "According to the Jedi boy, about a year's worth." Ellari replies. "If you ask me, the legality of all this is Republic business. So if we hand them over, we shouldn't do it for free. Credits, or maybe a favor..." she muses. "If not, I say we undo Caine's mistakes and simply put a blaster to his head."
Pike Windu     Pike nod deliberately. "Find the lab, destroy it. Get the clone, kill it."
Cayde Alexis     [There must be a record] Cayde insists. If the Arkanians had permission to build their lab, then surely they'd had a permit and authorization to conduct whatever experiments they had planned in Aklyrr.
Jorn "I was asking the Doctor," Jorn says to Kasseady. That's something he's very sure with. Right now, he looks at Ellari. "I want information. I want what Volken was told. From the source, directly. With recordings. I want the world to hear it from him. That's what I want," Jorn says this all firmly.

"Everyone else could take the cred, the clones, the armor, anything else. I just want that information."

A look goes toward Kasseady, "I don't have it. Sorry." Oh, that's a bold face lie and a half.
Navi "His own obsessed-with-the-Darksaber person... whatever the Darksaber is," Navi observes, off of Kasseady's growling. "So he's kind of a one-hit wonder. Like the recording's stuck in one place. Could that be a sign of neural degradation?"
Zetha Rumir Zetha just stands at the back of everything and remains silent for a moment. "Me? Help with a study? What good will I be? I'm just a scrapper.." And has absolutely no experience in being suddenly thrown into a whole new world. Nope. Nada.
Athena "What? No," The doctor says when Pike suggests that they should kill the clone. "He's right," he says in response to Kasseady, "he -is- his own person. Even if he's not here to speak for himself currently..."

He frowns when Ellari suggests they don't hand them over for free, but leaves the comment unaddressed for now.

"You'll get that," he says, "if you just let me conduct my study. Right now, he's not in a frame of mind to tell you anything that you can be absolutely certain didn't come from a place of mental instability." He looks at Navi gravely when she says something about neuro-degradation and sighs, shaking his head. "I don't like it, but you're probably right..."

He turns to Zetha. "I want to see how he reacts to you," he says to Zetha. "Clearly, his host had affection for you. But perhaps he himself does not know you. Or maybe he does. Perhaps he'll have the same affection." He turns to Jorn. "I know you have the Dark Saber. I want you to turn the clone over to me, and I also want you to show him the Dark Saber. I want to see how he responds."
Pike Windu     "The clone is an abomination and must be put down." Pike takes another swig of his liquid courage, not trying to conceal the flask now.
Ellari Zin     "You want that, do you?" Ellari asks Soren, folding her arms. "And what would -we- get in return? What does Jorn get? Surely, you are a man of justice?" She asks, nodding at Jorn's words of demand. "What could you offer, to help us right the wrongs done by the Von'egel twins?"
Cayde Alexis     Cayde glances between Zetha and Soren as the doctor basically suggests she try to...enamor him. What was the point of all this? How would he help them locate the Arkanians? He was just -born-. Probably doesn't even know where he was born.

Since no one seems to have been paying attention to his suggestion about the lab permits, he turns and starts to head toward the marshal's and other administrative offices. Had to be -something- there, right? Aklyrr isn't -that- big.
Zetha Rumir Zetha blinks while biting the inside of her lip and looking away. "I highly doubt it was actual affection or attraction being shown towards me..." She offers softly, perhaps so only Soren could hear her. Though when Pike chimes in with his opinions on the clone she looks over.

"That's a horrible thing to say! And cruel! How can you so casually say that someone deserves to die like that...."

She then notices how Cayde begins to leave. "Cayde? Where are you off to?"
Navi "If the degradation persists, he may not be his own person much longer," Navi adds. "The laws regarding cloning and clones are very clear... but we /are/ rather far from Coruscant, and this situation is unusual. The clone may somehow be of help to us in righting a greater wrong, though I'm not yet sure how. I'm also unsure trying to pair the clone off with Miss Zetha is ethical or prudent. I wouldn't want it done to me, were I in her shoes."

She looks up at Zetha's question to Cayde. "That's a good question, Cayde... where /are/ you off to?" she asks the Padawan's back.
Athena The doctor shakes his head at Pike. "I won't allow it. We can't just decide to end his life before we've even assessed his individuality," he says. "He's not a droid."

His brows furrow when Ellari asks him what he could offer. "And you're saying I should just take your word for what justice looks like? I'd be more willing, perhaps, if you let me stand witness to his trial. Jorn will get his answers, and if I can complete my study, assessment, and therapy, he'll get good ones. Is that not enough?"

"Maybe not," the doctor says to Zetha, "but out of all of us, you stand the best chance of getting through to him. He might not be the one we're looking for, but there's no way he doesn't know how to get in contact with him. He's far too precious an asset for the baron to have just cut him off entirely."

But then Cayde is running off and Zetha as well as Navi aren't the only ones to notice. Thaarin gets up to follow him. "I'm going to help him," he announces. "Good luck to anyone else who would like to accompany me... it's not a task for the faint of heart."

Cayde will find himself wandering towards the little building the mayor of Kublop had given the leadership of Aklyrr Bend. It's sort of like an overflow office - full of paperwork and other miscellaneous documents that weren't needed to operate the colony on a daily basis, plus all the resources necessary for reporting, as the comm center in Aklyrr Bend is still under construction.
Cayde Alexis     Cayde actually stops and turns around momentarily when Zetha and Navi ask him where he's going. [Find records of lab permits] he explains. [Thank you] he nods to Thaarin. Then he turns around and again continues toward the offices. He starts with one of the workstations, looking for information about any authorizations pertaining to the lab. Something had to have its location. Really, Aklyrr wasn't big.
Ellari Zin     Ellari doesn't say any more. She wants more than just -answers-...but she doubts the doctor will agree. So she just shrugs and glances over toward Jorn. this was his decision, anyway.
Jorn "I need what I need soon. The sooner the better. Time is not a luxury I can afford. Nor is it one I can spare. How soon can I get that information?" Jorn asks plainly. He can't stay around, or wait, for intense therapy. That could take months. He has hours, maybe days. Other than that, Jorn doesn't care what happens. Honestly, he believes a long walk off of a short plank into very large grinder would be his preference. However, he does not care after the information.

They need to stand justice. How that justice comes is not his decision.
Pike Windu     Pike rises to his feet, the drunkeness melting away as he regains some remembered dignity. "I am a Jedi Master. The clone is of the Dark Side. It WILL...be exterminated."
Zetha Rumir Zetha grimaces a little and then shakes her head. "How can you be so certain the clone is of the Dark Side... and further... have you even been able to determine if he's...what do you call it... Force Sensitive? I read about that in a book. You're condemning before giving a chance... aren't you Jedi supposed to be about trying to save someone from the Dark Side and not just...eradicating existence?" It's cruel. To Zetha anyway. And she shakes her head again before looking between the Doctor and Jorn.

"Well when do I get to meet this person and we can figure out if there's a glint of recognition in his eyes when he sees me? Maybe -that- will determine he's worth at least a chance and not a death warrant."
Navi "It's not that simple, Zetha. I really wish it were," Navi says. "Even if the Dark Side weren't a factor, clones and cloning are illegal because of the potential for unethical treatment of clones, even by people with the best of intentions who have never raised a hand in anger against a clone, and never would. Clones are prone to neural degradation... it's like dementia, only faster and more catastrophic. And even clones who don't have the worst cases of it are subject to it in some ways. It's just unethical to create a sentient being, only for it to suffer and eventually die in such a manner."
Athena When Cayde and Thaarin arrive at the overflow office, they'll find things are an utter mess. There's datapads strewn everywhere, and even random pieces of flimsiplast lying on the ground here and there. The consoles are up and running at least, but finding anything in here is going to be... somewhat difficult.

The doctor seems exasperated when Pike says the clone is of the Dark Side. "How do you even know that?" he says, his frown deepening. "You haven't even seen him for yourself. Zetha's right," he says. "You should be ashamed of yourself."

He then turns to Jorn. "I can't guarantee timeline," he says, "and I know what you're thinking - it's going to take months. And I can assure you right now, that if you cooperate fully, it won't."

He then looks to Zetha. "We should go now," he says, and then his gaze flicks to Jorn, "as long as the Mandalorians are willing to let me conduct my work as I see fit." He shakes his head at Navi. "They're only prone to neural degradation because no one ever was ever able to create a clone, successfully. All records of genetic experimentation of this kind resulted in the test subjects dying within days of their birth. This supposed clone... is clearly older than that. What kind of shape he's in mentally, I don't know. We're in uncharted waters, Navi. This is why I need to study him..."
Navi "Be careful, doctor. This is an extremely dangerous course of study, especially from a moral and ethical perspective," Navi advises worriedly.
Cayde Alexis     Cayde sighs and starts trying to work one of the terminals, not going for any of the random flimsiplast lying around.
Ellari Zin     "Not months? Then how long?" Ellari asks, folding her arms. "I don't know how much longer it will be before someone -else- shows up here looking for a fight over the Darksaber."
Jorn "I need a rough timeline. I don't need concrete," but he gestures to Ellari. "Her words hold a lot of wait right now." Jorn just backs up that sentiment right now.
Pike Windu     Pike scoffs and shakes his head in supreme annoyance. "You're not Jedi. You don't understand." The Master takes another swig and backs down. He mutters to himself, "it will be done."
Zetha Rumir Zetha clenches her jaw and shakes her head. "Maybe if you stopped drinking from that flask so much your mind would be clearer to listen to reason and make better decisions. The Jedi aren't judge, jury and executioner all in one as far as I'm concerned. And you aren't the King of Tenoo..." Then she looks at Soren and nods her head before glancing to Jorn and Ellari. "We can probably get you a better timeline after the doctor and I see this person. Will you please oblige us and let us meet them?"
Athena "I'm just here to make sure history doesn't repeat itself," he says to Navi, "and if I have to be the sacrificial happabore then so be it. But it'll be alright," He says, "I promise." He looks to Jorn and Ellari. "Perhaps four to six weeks. But I just told you, I can't really guarantee a timeline. Zetha's right. Let me see him first, then I can give you a better answer."

He sighs when Pike scoffs at him. "Perhaps you ought to go back to the colony and rest," he says, "you seem overwhelmed and aren't in your right mind. Regardless, I can't let you just get rid of this supposed clone. He's not disposable."

Thaarin seems surprised when Cayde is immediately able to get into one of the terminals. His lips press into a thin line, "You've been in here before, haven't you? You're not supposed to know the password to the console for long range comms." He frowns. "Wait, you're the one who's been coming in here and surfing the Holonet, aren't you??" He shakes his head. "Cayde... what did I tell you about social etiquette on the holonetworks..." He sighs.

Cayde can defend himself, or ignore Thaarin - he'll see that there's an archive of files that are documents recording what was permitted to be brought to and built on Tenoo.
Cayde Alexis     Cayde pouts slightly at Thaarin. [It is....] he pauses. [...it helps me...is...productive.] See?

He sifts through the data, locating the archive. The padawan gestures for Thaarin to come over. [Building permit] he signs, and nods, starting to look for the files pertaining to the labs.
Ellari Zin     "Hmph." Ellari doesn't say much more, simply looking to Jorn again. It was ultimately his decision.
Pike Windu     "Perhaps I should go back to the colony and burn it down. This whole mission is a waste of time." The Jedi empties his flask and groans in frustration.
Navi "Maybe I'd better go with you, Master," Navi says, moving to join Pike. "It's a long tram ride back."
Jorn "Weeks!? Weeks?! I told you I have days, if I'm lucky." Jorn looks at the Doctor for a moment. "If you can't give me results sooner, I'll have to figure out an alternative route. I don't have the luxury of time, remmeber?" Jorn sounds very annoyed like the doctor didn't really listen to him at all.
Zetha Rumir Zetha bites her tongue, figuratively, when it comes to responding to Pike. Though she has words in her head for him but they will remain there. She then looks between Jorn and Ellari. "For the love of everything... will you please just let us see this person so we can figure out a proper timeline? Us standing around here after having asked a few times and you're just delaying it...isn't really helping anything." Her hands are on her hips now, like she's trying to look like she means business. Or something.
Athena Thaarin arches a brow at Cayde. "Is it? Certainly doesn't seem like it," he mutters. But then they're moving onto more important matters. He helps Cayde scroll the documents, but all they'll find is a permit for them to occupy a small mailing room in Kublop Springs, and a temporary laboratory at colony site. The temporary laboratory, Cayde will have seen already, it's attached to the infirmary, and is mostly just storage for things like lab equipment...

The doctor shakes his head. "And you're drunk," He says to Pike, shaking his head. "You can accompany him if you like Navi, but I was really hoping you could join us for the assessment of the clone. Cayde's gone off with Thaarin, and we could use a hand in the calming department."

"And what is that alternative route?" the doctor argues. "You're not going to get reliable answers from him, even if you chop off all his limbs. He can't give you answers regarding people and places he barely remembers, nor do I think he possesses much self awareness. And then what if you do, and he still doesn't cooperate? What's your game plan, then? Dead men tell no tales."
Jorn "A computer can get hacked. Jedi can crack the mind. I'm sure something can be done to bring up memory," he states looking at the Doctor as Jorn knows torture is not the route to go.
Cayde Alexis     Cayde frowns at that 'temporary' lab space apparently only for storage. Is that the truth? Perhaps they should search it. He looks to Thaarin. [Storage...no...we should check] he signs. And then check the 'mailing' room.
Zetha Rumir Zetha Rumir sighs and looks over to Soren for a moment before back to the Mandalorians. "I know my way around metal and stuff. I'll go find this person myself and drag them off of this ship so we can do our thing with talking to them and you can go about your merry. If you need any information from them we can always send it to you afterwards. Since you really seem keen to get off this planet in a hurry. Not that I blame you. Tenoo can be -boring- but.." She shrugs. "I think we've been more than patient trying to come to agreeable terms and pushing back isn't getting you anything any sooner than you want it."
Pike Windu     The local rotgut starts to take effect. Pike wanders off, blathering about his mission and planets being the farthest from a bright center of the universe.
Navi Navi looks after Pike. "Maybe I'd better at least accompany him to the tram station. I can make myself available if you need me, Doctor, Zetha," she volunteers. "But please speak up."
Athena "If you want access to the Jedi's help," the doctor says, "you're going to have to do things the Republic's way. And if you don't want to do that, then sorry, you're out of the luck." He turns and heads out of the hearth room, ushering Zetha out as well if she lets him. Once they're out of earshot, he says to her, "Look, I agree with you. But next time, try not to be so obvious about our intentions. We don't want them actively trying to prevent us from finding the clone and talking to him - you know what Mandalorian forms of dissuasion look like."

"I'll reach out later," he says to Navi, "looks like we're just going to have to do this -without- the Mandalorian's permission. Light help us...we're going to need all the help we can get. But for now, make sure Pike gets back to the colony safely."

"I've spoken to Vons about the mailing room already," the tall blue alien says to Cayde, "he's searched it and there's nothing of interest there anymore. We'd best head back to the colony site and search for any other clues in the old storage facility." He then starts to make his way back towards the tram station, where Navi and Pike are also likely heading
Cayde Alexis     Cayde nods and follows him out, wondering where else the Arkanians could have gone. There weren't many other habitable places on this planet. And if they left the planet, there had to be a log at the port. But first things first...
Zetha Rumir Zetha does allow herself to be ushered away and after listening to Soren, she protests a little. "I was only reiterating what you were saying..." She offers and then makes a face. "Okay maybe threatening to find this clone and haul him away wasn't the /best/ thing I've said...but..." She stops herself and takes a breath. "You're right. Sorry. I was just getting really frustrated with them and with what Pike was saying...and I'm still trying to figure out how to compartmentalize emotions. I'll do better." There's a pause. "So...what now?"
Navi Navi pauses to hug Zetha supportively. "For starters, there's this. Then there's finding out what those sneaky Arkanians are up to. The Vergence has got to be the key to their breakthroughs. There's no way they're far from it. That's where we need to focus our search," she suggests.
Athena "I understand," the doctor says, "and we're on the same page about taking matters into our own hands. The Mandalorians just can't know when," he says, "it's too late to make sure they don't know we plan to at all. But it's alright - we'll figure it out, don't worry." the doctor reassures her, patting her shoulder firmly but gently. "I'm going to head back to the colony, now. I've got to talk to Thaarin and Vons about finding a way to that clone, without the Mandalorians knowing."

Then he glances over at Navi. "She's right, the vergence is key to their breakthroughs. If the lab is anywhere, it's probably somewhere in the Gorge or near it. I know that doesn't narrow our search much, and it's risky - the Gorge is dangerous, uncharted, and difficult to navigate."

"In the meantime, try asking around for 'Jasper.' Maybe he'll catch wind of it and come looking for you. But be careful, don't make yourself available at night, or in places where you'd be alone and cornered. If you can't stay at home because of the renovations, I'm sure Crane will be more than happy to share a bed with you at the convent." Then he starts for tram station. "I'll see you soon," He says to Zetha, "and as always, don't be afraid to reach out if you need anything."
Navi "I don't think we're going to get anywhere with the Mandalorians without bargaining in good faith, and any attempt to do otherwise won't end well for us. Or them. But especially us," Navi contributes. "So I won't be part of any effort that isn't about dealing with them in good faith. Besides, do you really want to be the one to tell Volk that we're taking the clone from them? I sure as frell don't. And won't."
Zetha Rumir Zetha returns the hug from Navi and then glances to Soren again. "Alright. I'll do better." Then he mentions she should poke around about 'Jasper', maybe bring him out of hiding. She tries not to smile at that and just nods her head. "I'm between the convent and the junkyard...but it works out alright. I think I'll go see if Crane is free. Be safe, both of you." And then she turns to head towards the convent.
