| Athena | It has been a couple of weeks since the incident at the spaceport, and in that time a few things have transpired. Rykard had returned, and resumed his post as Marshal, though Cayde and Navi have remained co-deputies. Oona, as well has returned with Master Rykard, and has been helping with overseeing Aklyrr Bend. The second event of interest that had occurred is that a few hours after the incident at the spaceport, had been the finding of the clone the Mandalorians taken hostage. He'd apparently escaped Ellari's ship, by jumping from it into the water. This hadn't ended well for him, and currently, 'Jasper', or so he liked to call himself, has been in a coma at the hospital ever since. The third thing that would have occurred was the scouting of the area discovered from the bird's mind. The trash chute had been spotted from a distance, but getting there was going to prove to be difficult, as the chute empties into a hole inset into a cliff in the Gorge. Mondrian had plenty of ideas, but Rykard had deemed most of them too risky. Mondrian had also reached out to Zetha regarding getting into the lab, requesting a private update on her meeting with the baron. |
| Zetha Rumir | When Zetha gets the message from Mondrian, she responds with being up to meeting with Mondrian at some place and time that they likely agreed upon. Somewhere that could be private enough they could talk and not get interrupted. Or spied upon. |
| Ellari Zin | With the clone confined to the hospital, Ellari has been hanging around there, waiting to see if Von'egel will finally come out and attempt to collect his prize. Surely it must be worth a fortune. |
| Cayde Alexis | The chute must not be the only way in. If the chute was there, then the actual entry to lab must be nearby. But again, the terrain wasn't exactly friendly. So it seemed they were back at square one. For now, Cayde is spending time with his Master. |
| Athena | Zetha probably won't be surprised when Mondrian asks to meet her at the hospital, telling her that she's secured a private room with no security cameras with the help of the doctor. She also informs her that the Jedi have gathered at the hospital, at the request of the doctor. His hope is that with their help, they can wake the clone and once again try to get him to cooperate, or remember things he hadn't previously remembered. His last session with Cayde, the doctor had argued, hadn't been in an ideal environment or context so Cayde's attempts to find anything out had been hindered by the high amount of stress the clone had been experiencing. Navi, of course, had been invited along to accompany as well. So far, the other Von'egel hasn't seemed to show. Er'gi and probably Jorn, at the very least, have joined Ellari in hanging around the hospital, hoping that it's only a matter of time before he arrives. Kass has been strangely absent the past couple of weeks. He'd popped in here and there every few days, but his contribution to the effort of finding his twin brother had been near nil. All the times he'd shown his face to the other Mandalorians, he'd been drunk. |
| Navi | "I hope this works... it feels like we've been at least three steps behind those Arkanians this whole time. The ship was a good breakthru, but we still don't have /them/," Navi murmurs, waiting with the others for the doctor to get things moving. "I just hope the clone's mind isn't so degraded that there's nothing left to find." |
| Jorn | Jorn looks about. He's not happy about how things are unfolding. Still, he will just endure. Although he will check the other communicators he has. The ones that are not his. Looking for clues. |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha goes to the hospital and then to the room where Mondrian asked her to meet at. Once she's in the room and the door closes, she'll take a seat where a free one is and crosses one leg over the other. She also glances up at the ceilings and around, almost like she's double checking to make sure that the room truly is free of any cameras - and she really hopes Mondrian isn't secretly hiding a recording device. |
| Volken Mons | Volken is -- not with them! He's doing his own brand of investigation. Volken Mons style. He's been constantly feeling as if he's one step behind on what's going on and it's clear to him that the republic officer may have some insight here even if it's through the means of a 'side job' ... So he's letting the other Mandalorians deal with whatever they're dealing with and instead following on up on the chip and information he'd been given to seek out the republic officer for that 'job'. IF they call him? He ignores them unless it's a dire emergency. What is an emergency to Volken? Well that's for them to figure out! |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde is somewhat reluctant to try searching the clone's mind again, given the result last time hadn't been very useful. That, and it could have been worse. Much, much worse. |
| Ellari Zin | Speaking of commlinks, Ellari keeps trying to contact Volken, but keeps getting nothing. She glances at Jorn, frowning. "Has Volken said anything to you?" she asks, getting impatient. If Caine was going to show, he probably would have by now. |
| Athena | Rykard nods at Navi. "Have faith in the Force," he says to sagely. "Some progress is better than none. And the doctor says he feels hopeful that the clone's sanity may be surprisingly intact. However, we'll only know once he's awake." He glances to Cayde. "Come padawan, do not fear. You have me now, there is a much wider margin for error if one does arise." He leads Navi and Cayde towards the room where the clone is. And a clue may indeed arise, but it just depends on if Jorn picks up on it. Here comes Kass, strolling towards Ellari, Jorn, and Er'gi. He is not drunk this time, it would appear. Maybe they'll find that strange, or maybe they'll be relieved. He smiles broadly and waves, though it seems insincere. "Pardon my lateness... but shouldn't you all have headed into the hospital by now?" "Look, you can trust me," Mondrian says when Zetha seems to be checking out the room. "And you'll need to for this to have any measure of success. Now, did you get to talk to him, or not? What did he say?" Volken will find himself in Aklyrr Bend, near the administrative offices for the colony. Upon seeing him, the colonists seem intimidated and concerned. They whisper behind his back, but their words will be too quiet for Volken to distinguish. As he's making his way towards the offices, someone will go out of them as Volken is coming near. He might look familiar - Zeltron, red skin, purple eyes. His eyes immediately narrow upon seeing Volken and his left hand immediately goes for his gun. "You better have a good reason to be here," he says. |
| Navi | "I hope so, Master," Navi replies, rising and following Master Rykard and Cayde into the room where the clone is being housed. "It's not the Force I doubt... it's the mad science of cloning, and its ability to hold together." |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha's eyes finally look over towards Mondrian and she seems to relax. Somewhat. "I did. Though by accident instead of how I intended to find him..." She offers. "We talked. He agreed to take me to the labratory...but I have to do something for him first. I have to get the DNA of Force users, and or Mandalorians. Once I've collected a few samples, I contact him the way I intended to the first time and we meet." She sighs. "Of course, I'm not supposed to tell anyone that. But I told Doctor Cassias...in a way...and now I'm telling you. So I really do hope I can trust you as much as I trust him. He's like a father to me." |
| Volken Mons | "I'm sight seein'." Volken doesn't seem particularly bothered by the man or the fact that he's going for his gun. Nor is he bothered by the whispers or mutters. He draws attention where he goes. He'd be surprised and probably annoyed if he didn't! Something, however, makes him consider that -maayybeee- he should at least have a beacon ready. Just in case. Just in case Jorn and Ellari need to come res---find him. Cause Volken doesn't need rescuing. Of course. Never. "I'm here t'talk to Mondrian about a job." |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde still seems uncertain of himself, but he follows Rykard and Navi into the room. He can't help but be reminded of all the times his 'gifts' had only caused pain and suffering, especially recently. Navi doesn't seem very confident, either. Maybe he should stay out of this...he isn't the only telepath any more, after all. |
| Ellari Zin | Ellari rolls her eyes at Kass. "Surprised you're not drunk." she remarks. "And for what? If your brother was to show, he would have done so by now." She folds her arms. "Have you seen Volken?" |
| Jorn | "Volken has said nothing to me," Jorn just waits a few moments spotting Cass. Just letting others go forward first. Because honestly? He doesn't quite trust himself to act rational. With Jorn's mood he would crank it up higher. So, he wants others to go in. They would help temper him. |
| Athena | "The Force is in all living things, Navi," Rykard offers cryptically. She may get the feeling it's supposed to be some kind of encouragement, but her mood may not be boosted. But Rykard pushes Cayde forward gently with a smile. "We'll do it all together," He says, "it'll be safer, and easier that way," he tells the young padawan as they enter the room where the clone lies on a hospital bed, inert. "Oh," Mondrian says, "well, other Mandalorians, that shouldn't be a problem. Force users...? Well, that might be risky. But I doubt he'd know the difference between getting cheek swab from some random fellow or a Force sensitive one. Only the Jedi have tools for measuring what's it now? Midi something? Anyway, I think I saw some of the Mandalorians lingering outside. It shouldn't be too hard to a strand of hair, or even maybe some blood. They do like a good fight, after all," she says casually with a shrug. "You can," she says, "No one who isn't supposed to know about this is going to know." She gets up to go out, and when she opens the door, she watches as Navi, Rykard and Cayde venture into the room where the clone is. Her expression softens. Then she turns to Zetha. "Let's go." The Zeltron man's eyes narrow even more and he's about unholster his blaster when the Republic officer from earlier appears in the doorway. "Take a walk, Vons," he says with a smirk. "He's not lying." His smirk then widens, and he beckons for Volken to come inside. "No," Kass says with a shrug. "Have you? For all I know, or care, that marauder he was tangling with killed him." Er'gi growls, but doesn't actually comment. He then scoffs. "You're all di'kut," Kass says, "If Volken is alive, he isn't with the three of you because you're nowhere nearer to finding my brother than you were a few weeks ago." "If my brother were to show, he wouldn't just wait for you all out here, or stroll into the front entrance of the hospital in broad daylight. He'd find a back entrance that no one's monitoring, and slip discreetly into the trauma ward when no one was looking." He rolls his eyes. "You can't seriously think he's that stupid." |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha nods and then she chuckles. "I said the same thing to Cassias. Like...I don't know what you all are planning to do...and how you plan to do it...all I'm doing is giving you the in." Which, when she thinks about it, that makes more sense now than it did the other night when she fought with Soren. So while she stands and begins to walk out with Mondrian, she pulls out her communicator and shoots off a quick message to the Doctor. <<Hey. Still upset with me? I get it now. I'm sorry I tried to say you couldn't go with me. You -should- go with me. Otherwise, there's not point in me doing all of this for you. Hope to talk soon. <3 >> Yes, she does include the heart emoji. Crane must be rubbing off on her a little. Then, almost suddenly, she offers, "I don't know how you or Navi felt when you found out I had ditched at the Cantina. I figured if I was going to get to talk to him, it would have to be alone. In a way, I was right. But I'm sorry I didn't give you any clue into it." She pauses. "I need to apologize to Navi too..." |
| Volken Mons | "I'm taking a big risk by being here so I don't intend t'come back empty handed." rumbles Volken as he draws near, "You got information and a job. I want answers and some credits. Especially on what the connection is between those pirates and the Deputies. I'm about finished getting shot at, stabbed, burnt, dragged and otherwise harassed over the chaos goin' on, on this settlement and you know sometin' don't you..." Volken draws nearer though he gives 'Vons' a side glance. Or at least it looks like one given his helmet is still on. He then looks back to Mondrain. "So...how about it?" |
| Navi | "I don't know whether that's encouraging or not, Master... clones are alive, and in theory the Force should also be in them. But cloning is illegal, and I can't help feeling that there is a good reason for that. Laws are not made on whims, unless your government is run solely by a single all-powerful but crazy individual, and we may hope that such a thing /never/ happens." She positions herself beside the clone's bed, lays both hands on its arm, and begins to draw upon the Force, focusing her energies upon penetrating into his mind to try and find a spark of sentience, and rekindle it into a flame... |
| Cayde Alexis | [Yes master] Cayde signs, although he still doesn't feel very confident about this. He tries to focus more on unifying all efforts than on reaching into the clone. |
| Ellari Zin | "Hmph, he's not answering his commlink." Ellari grumbles when Jorn reveals Volken has not contacted him, either. "Have you tried him yourself?" "Oh, well since you know him so well then, perhaps -you- should be leading this effort, instead of drinking yourself into a stupor every night?" Ellari throws back scathingly at Kass. She wants nothing more than to shoot him in the face right now, but unfortunately he's valuable at the moment, which she hates. "Well what are you waiting for, tell us where we should be looking for him." |
| Jorn | Jorn will still just watch Kass for a moment, taking in the person. Although the Mando will see what communicators he still has on him that aren't his own. After he makes that assessment, he will see if they work. See if any new messages come in. Any that are meant for Kass and others. Just something to help coordinate. |
| Athena | "We'll figure it out," Mondrian says as they head for the front of the hospital. "Sometimes police work is flying by the skin of a krayt dragon's teeth," she offers, with a nod, "don't apologize for doing what was necessary. What we all want and need are results. Briefing everyone else can happen later." The doctor replies in a strangely timely fashion. <I'm not mad> A pause. <We'll talk soon, I'm still in Kublop. See you in a little bit> Mondrian chuckles and pulls out a flask of Nubian ale. "Don't worry, you won't," he says. "Well, Rykard's padawan I don't think considered him any kind of ally until after that incident with the witch. I don't know what exactly happened. But he came back changed and Rykard disappeared into the Gorge for months. And that was when it became alarmingly obvious that they'd connected, or something. When he came back to the colony, he was with Zealot. And Zealot came forth with all this damning evidence for a colonist who we had suspected for a long time had committed premeditated murder. Now, it wasn't quite that black and white, but that Dug was convicted on a charge of manslaughter, and is going to be sent back to Coruscant to be tried. Since then, Zealot's around way more, and Cayde? He's just different. I'd even go so far to say that the whole incident with the cortosis would have gone differently if he'd never met Zealot. Navi knew Zealot too, from before. I don't know how or when they met. But I have a sense that she'd probably go out of her way to protect him, too." He pours a glass for Volken and hands it to the massive Mandalorian. "You are right," Rykard says, "but just like every other living thing, we must treat him with respect." Then he closes his eyes and stretches out a hand as he, Navi, and Cayde jointly attempt to wake the clone. It works, quite well. The clone stirs, and sits up, looking a bit dazed, but at least coherent. "Where am I...." Kass doesn't reply, but he does gesture obscenely at her. "You have no idea what it's like to be me," he growls. "Now if you want to find my brother, then let's stop wasting time." He shoves past Jorn, bumping his shoulder roughly, as he starts heading for the west side of the hospital. There's a message from Thaelin on Kass' commlink, asking about the wedding gift, Volken, and Caine's general whereabouts. Well, he could provide an answer for one of those things, but that's probably the least of Jorn's worries at the moment. He'll suddenly get this feeling that something's off, or wrong. Ellari had brought up a good point. If Kass cared so much about finding Caine, then why hadn't he cut out the drinking and taken initiative like he suddenly is right now...? |
| Navi | "You're in a hospital in Kublop Springs," Navi replies softly. "What is your name and your age? And do you know what planet you are on?" She's conducting some basic cognitive tests at this point. |
| Cayde Alexis | Once the clone is awake, Cayde pulls back and lets Navi do the talking for now. |
| Ellari Zin | Ellari follows Kass, and finds herself wondering what Jorn might also be wondering...and she says as much. "So he suddenly decided to actually start helping, I -wonder- why the change of heart? Did something change?" she says to Jorn, but within obvious earshot of Kass. |
| Jorn | Jorn will feel the shove and then he just looks at Kass for a moment. "Why the change of heart?" he asks Kass. There's a look going toward the man. "Ellari brought up some points. I've seen you much worse. Why the change -now-. Why not then? Why not before?" he doesn't believe that KAss's reasoning is entirely honest, or perhaps not honest at all. There might be something about circumstances that changed. He stares at the communicator for a moment. Knowing it's pinging off of places. He'll start to punch in a message. Just putting in a plethora of characters in the communicator that is not his own. A few buttons get pressed. Then he will turn it off. A look goes toward Cass, "I don't think it's charity, is it? What changed?" he asks and waits fora response. Unlock Ellari, Jorn is direct. |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha is surprised by the quick reply from Soren but she does give a smile reading his words. Now she just follows Mondrian(F) and keeps silent. Well with words anyway. She types into her communicator a few more times. First to Wiis, <<Hey mom. Just wanted to check in and let you know I'm safe, just getting some work done. I should be home tonight to help clean up the house a bit more. Love you.>> Then, with that done, she sends a message to Crane. <<Hey. How are you feeling? Things healing up okay? Hope to see you soon! <3 >> "I suppose that's fair enough. Anyway. What's on the agenda now?" |
| Volken Mons | "Because they're all connected....By The Force...." rumbles Volken as he takes the drink. "...So ...that's who got into my mind. It was Zealot. He's got those damn Force powers also. Is there anybody wrapped up in this nonsense who -isn't- some sort of damned sorcerer?" Volkend oesn't seem inclined to drink now but instead shakes his head, "But Cayde's loyal to his order. He woudln't betray his Jedi.... But he would make rash decisions if het hought it was for the greater good. I see that about him but Navi? Navi has a solid head on her shoulders... so she'd have some logic behind wanting to protect Zealot but it doesn't matter if they're working for Caine. What's the connection? Where is the Baron?" |
| Athena | The clone pauses, frowning. But he seems much more willing to cooperate now, perhaps the doctor had been right. "... My name is Jasper," he says. He suddenly tries to get out of the bed, but winces. "The boy. I want to see the --" Then he sees Cayde is standing there. "Oh," he says softly. "you're here." He looks back to Navi. "I am eight thousand and one hours old," He says, "I'm on Tenoo, and I need your help." "I drank, and drank, and drank until every single bartender in town banned me from their establishments. There's not that many, honestly. Then I spent too much time alone, bemoaning my circumstances, and now, I'm here. You should thank me. I'm your only hope for finding my brother." He ventures over to a window and peers into the hospital. "No one in the galley," he says, "As I suspected." He shoots the door lock, and then pushes his way in. Somewhere far away in Sundari, a certain female Mandalorian gets Jorn's message via Kass' commlink and starts to weep. After a good cry, she gets up and goes to speak with her brother, who knows where Kass had last reported he'd gone. Mondrian(F) has stopped right in front of the hospital entrance. "..." she frowns. "They're gone. That can't mean anything good," she says to Zetha, and starts running. Zetha will feel her commlink vibrate, but she might find that now isn't a good time to respond. Mondrian shrugs. "Yeah, well. That doesn't surprise me." He arches a brow at Volken. "You're just wrong, Volken. I bet you anything they've both been lying to you about ... a lot of things. Clearly you don't know anything about Zealot. He's a well renowned criminal in the Outer Rim." He shrugs bitterly. "No idea, and Rykard's banned me investigating anything that doesn't directly concern the physical safety and wellbeing of the colonists here in Aklyrr Bend." |
| Navi | "Well, we also need your help. Maybe we can help each other," Navi replies softly. "How can we help you?" she continues, still gently. "And I'm also wondering why you want to see Cayde. Is that part of how we may be able to help you?" |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde arches a brow at Jasper when he says he wants to see him specifically. [And how do I help] he asks in sign. |
| Ellari Zin | "Pathetic," Ellari mutters as Kass admits he was banned from every bar. Obviously not for drinking as that wouldn't have been good for business, but obviously for disruptive conduct. But she follows him into the galley anyway. However, she also notices Jorn sending a message. Was he attempting to raise Volken? Or was it someone else. "Who are you talking to? Have you heard anything from Volken yet?" |
| Jorn | "I haven't heard from Volken. I would like to. When he goes missing things happen," usually they're good. He just knows regardless of good or bad, things will happen. "I'm trying to stir some hornet nests using some of our prisoners contacts," and he will keep going through the contacts, past messages and seeing if he could connect any dots between recent past and now. Something that could be used. |
| Volken Mons | Volken doesn't answer at first. He seems to be pondering these words and then rumbles, "I don't believe Navi would try and trick and lie to me...and I don't believe that Cayde would lie to me either but that doesn't mean they aren't capable of making stupid decisions. IF they're protecting Zealot and think they're doing the right thing then ...." Volken quiets and then finally rumbles. "Zealot's working for the Baron. That much seems clear to me. I think we need to start being a little more forceful. Take the clone. Leave. The only reason why we even came to this rock was....for training. That's not even happening. We're being led around on chases that are leading us to dead ends and by people that won't listen to us. That much is true." After a final pause, Volken asks, "What's the job then? To take Zealot out?" |
| Zetha Rumir | "Wait... they who...what?" Zetha watches as Mondrian(F) runs off and then tilts her head. Should she run after the woman? Was Soren coming to the hospital? Then her commlink buzzes and she frowns. How many things can Zetha do at once? Not everything she wants to do, that's for sure. So she takes off running after Mondrian(F). |
| Athena | "Well your help would be just as welcome," the clone says, "The more help, the better," He says, glancing at Cayde, Rykard, then Navi. "I... I want to be free," He says, "The baron, he just thinks of me as a toy, an experiment. Science, for science's sake. I used to think I actually meant something to him, other than just valuable research. But clearly, I don't, and I'm not even that anymore. If I was, he'd be here right now. He would have been here a long time ago. He clearly only cares about his own skin, and it's about time I took matters into my own hands and looked after myself." Kass doesn't reply to Ellari or Jorn. He ignores them for now, venturing deeper into the galley. After a few moments, he says, "Keep up," he says, "we probably don't have much time." "Yeah, well," he scoffs slightly. "Sometimes you think you know people, but...." "I can't let you waltz off world with the clone," Mondrian says. "Rykard's dead set on keeping him here, and doing what the doctor wants, which is to keep him at the hospital for as long as necessary. But you've got the right idea. I want Zealot gone." "Look," Mondrian(F) says, peering westward. "I think they went this way. The foliage is broken. They must have gone in a hurry, they didn't bother covering their tracks." Then she starts down the newly trodden path, without waiting to see if Zetha will follow or not. |
| Zetha Rumir | The last time Zetha followed someone who was no better than a stranger, part of her life blew up. She was told she could trust Mondrian(F) but..could she really. Especially since there's no answer to who left or anything just...follow me into the unknown! This is when Zetha just pauses and pulls out her commlink to check the message that was sent. Then she'll quickly text Soren. <<Mondrian just took off saying that someone or someones left but she won't say who and I don't like it...I have a bad feeling. Where are you? Where can I meet you?>> |
| Volken Mons | "Ultimately the clone and the baron is Mandalorian business." warns Volken, "There's no other way to slice that. It's the clone of one of our nobles who is also a troublemaker and possibly wanted by my people for actions against our culture, our beliefs and repeated thefts of a sacred relic. We've been -this- patient about it all in the hopes that Cayde, Navi, somebody would get something out of him but we're within our rights to just take off with him and do whatever we need to do." Volken pauses and then rumbles, "But it doesn't have to -be- like that. If I agree to go after Zealot -you- agree to give Mandalorians free reign to do what we need to do here. No more republic officer harassment. No more keeping information from us. We'll take the conflict away from the colony and deal with Zealot." Volken quiets and then rumbles, "Or make me a counter offer." |
| Navi | "What does being free, looking after yourself, mean to you?" Navi asks softly. "That probably sounds like a stupid question, but please, bear with me. You were created to be Mandalorian, if I'm correct. Being free and looking after yourself looks a lit different, and /is/ a lot different, if you're a Core Worlds citizen than if you're Mandalorian. But no matter what that answer looks like, the Baron clearly does not have your best interests at heart, and protecting you from him would be a worthy goal." "That said, there is something we need to know... where is the lab the Arkanians are, or maybe were, using to conduct cloning experiments? Just the fact that they may have created you for some reason outside of Republic control, in a hidden lab, while using Republic funds, and are continuing to hide, says their intentions aren't good." |
| Cayde Alexis | [He is not here...so why you not free] Cayde asks. Did he have a tracker? An implant? Or some other device preventing him from acting freely? [Need to find lab you came from] he continues, nodding at Navi's words. |
| Ellari Zin | "What do you mean? Like whom, exactly?" Ellari asks of Jorn when he gives a rather vague answer. "And to what end?" Hmph...why hasn't Volken told them what he's up to? She mutters and continues to follow Kass through the galley. "What's your plan? We hide here until he comes trying to sneak in?" |
| Jorn | "Anyone of his contacts. They talked to a lot of people. And something's going on with them. I can't figure it out yet," Jorn speaks candidly going through it all for a moment. "Yeah. I usually hear Volken's plans by now," he admits, a little shocked nothing explosive has gone off in the distant yet. Maybe even disappointed. "What's the play, Cass?" Jorn says firmly, just fighting the urge to shoot him. Repeatedly. |
| Athena | Soren replies <I'm at the hospital. Where are you? Last I checked Mondrian was supposed to be here too. What was she talking about?> Mondrian waves a hand dismissively. "Okay, okay, yeah, whatever. I can agree or disagree with you. It doesn't matter. If you step out of line Rykard is going to come for you. And I'm bound by the law to obey him." He holds his hands up. "No hard feelings. I swore an oath. And you of all people should understand that." When Volken suggests he let Volken do whatever the hell he wants, he chuckles and smirks. "That's a fair trade," He says. "I can look the other way for you. But don't expect me help you if Rykard comes for your ass he wants me to help him. I can only make up so many excuses for not being there for so long." "I want to be able to live and exist without worrying about who might take me hostage for their own purposes constantly. Whether it's the Baron's enemies, or maybe even baron himself and his gang of marauders if he changes his mind and decides I'm valuable research after all." "I want to go to Mandalore. And I can help you learn about the lab. A lot of my memories are missing - this is why I was looking for the boy. He showed me the possibility of recovering some of those memories." "Be. Quiet," Kass hisses at Ellari and Jorn. He presses his back against the wall near the door that's the exit to the galley. He briefly looks into the hallway. "We need to get close to where the clone is find a place to hide," he says, "That way, if he comes for the clone, we'll see him." |
| Volken Mons | "Fair enough." says Volken. "I get Zealot taken care of. You keep Rykard off our backs for as long as possible. If the clone 'disappears' in the process - hey ...wasn't your fault. These things happen.. Do you have any leads on finding Zealot? Anything more then checking that damn gorge?" Volken rests both hands onto his hips. He's almost ready to call the others but...there's still pieces missing here. |
| Zetha Rumir | <<Wait. I'm at the hospital. Mondrian and I just sat in a room and talked. She said you had set it up for us so there wasn't anything recording. That I could trust her...>> Then Zetha turns and heads for Doctor Cassias' office, because that's the only place in the hospital she can think he is where they wouldn't have ran into each other. Her heart pounds in her chest while also sinking into her stomach. Her brain hurts. She's seconds from breaking down crying. By the time she reaches Soren's office, it's all over her face. The fear, the panic, the hurt...everything. Opening the door and praying he's there. "Soren?!" |
| Navi | "I may have some questions about those Marauders, too. I wasn't able to check it out earlier, but there was a report of Marauders attacking a Mandalorian ship at the spaceport. I'm wondering if they are the same Marauders you mean," Navi observes. She looks to Master Rykard. "Does going to Mandalore sound like something we might be able to help him with?" Then she looks to Cayde. "Do you think you can help him get back those memories he's missing? Because it looks like dealing with those Arkanians depends on his memory." |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde sighs. [Are you sure want that...] he asks when an attempt at recovering memories is mentioned. He nods to Navi. [But it is dangerous...might harm more than help] he warns. [Go to Mandalore we cannot help...Volken can help] |
| Ellari Zin | "What sort of--" Ellari begins to ask of Jorn, but then Kass tells them to quiet down. She peers out of the exit. "Any suggestions, then?" |
| Jorn | Cass clues in the rest of the class, and Jorn takes his own look out of the allyway. Just not exactly trusting Cass, the Green colored Mandalorian takes his own look out to see what is weaiting for them. To see if Cass's sotry matches, or if something a little different waits for everyone. |
| Athena | "Mm. Yeah. Sure. No guarantees how distracted I'll be able to keep him, though. He's a Jedi and can do the whole --" Mondrian taps the side of his head. "You know." "Yeah, about that. That damn Gorge. That's all I got for you. But you know, Rykard's been there. Cayde and Navi, too. But they can't know I'm paying you take Zealot out. So. Play things carefully." Soren is about to exit his office just as Zetha runs in, on the brink of a crash out. He grabs her by her shoulders gently. "Zetha, I'm here. I'm okay. You're okay. You can trust Mondrian. Now can you tell me where Mondrian went?" "Yes," Jasper says, "they were trying to break me out. But after I jumped, they didn't come for me. And neither did the Baron." Rykard frowns. "Cayde is right. I am not sure we can assist. I could consult the Council, but it's not very likely that we will obtain their approval." "I'm sure," Jasper says when Cayde asks him. "I know it's risky. But I think it's worth the risk." When Cayde mentions Volken he scoffs. "-That- brute? I wouldn't trust him farther than I could throw with a flick of wrist!" Kass scowls when Jorn pushes past him and goes to look out the window in the galley door, but doesn't comment. Jorn will be able to see right down the hall and espy a sign that says, 'TRAUMA UNIT.' "See, the trauma unit is just up ahead," Kass says, "If the clone was anywhere, he would have been there..." |
| Volken Mons | "My lips are sealed vod. Just make good on the payment when the time comes. Assuming the info you've given me is any good.. You leave Rykard to me. I'm pretty good at taking the blame for crazy things. It's cause I do crazy things." With that, Volken turns and if he's not stopped he'll prepare to step out of the building while also, finally, pinging his comm device on again. If nothing else, they'll know it's active even if he doesn't speak right away. |
| Zetha Rumir | "Idon'tknowbutshesaidthatheyheadedwestandthenshewentafterthemandIwasn'tsureifIshouldgoafterherandnoweverythingiscrazyandIcan'tbefooledagain..." It all comes out of Zetha in such a rush of words and without her taking a breath that she damn near collapses into Soren once she's finished. "I can't...she ran into some wooded area and I just froze. I'm sorry..." |
| Navi | "I don't know... I think the Mandalorians, Volk included, might hear us out if we let Jasper plead his case to them. Don't Mandalorians allow unrelated sentients to join their Clans? I thought I heard that somewhere. There might be certain conditions involved," Navi says. "As for the Council... if the Mandalorians are willing to take Jasper in, I don't see any reason the Council would need to know or worry about it. It would be strictly a Mandalorian affair. As for Volken, you don't know him, Jasper. I do. I think I could get him to listen to you." |
| Jorn | "Seems to check out," Jorn says more to Ellari than Cass. "On your mark," Jorn says to Cass not giving the man a chance to betray them. However, he knows that there could be a lot of different things going on. |
| Cayde Alexis | [Volken will listen] Cayde reassures Jasper. Then he holds out a hand, waiting for the clone to take it and establish the physical contact that will make the connection stronger. |
| Ellari Zin | "What are we waiting for then, oh fearless leader?" Ellari asks dryly. Then she notices Volken's commlink has become active again and she immediately tries to hail him again. << Volken...where are you >> |
| Athena | "Oh don't you worry," Mondrian says with a smirk. "Don't worry, it will," he says with a nod, folding his arms as he watches Volken leave. He pats her gently on the shoulder, then hugs her briefly. "Slow down," He says softly and reassuringly. "It's alright. She ran into some wooded area? Do you know why?" "I suppose," Rykard says, "but I'm not terribly inclined to trust the Mandalorians. They are enemies of the Republic..." Jasper lifts his chin, his gaze flicking to Navi uncertainly before turning back to Cayde. "Will you promise to make him," He says, "If he doesn't...?" He starts to reach for Cayde's hand. Kass nods at Jorn, then at Ellari. He starts to countdown with his fingers, but just as he's about to put down his last finger and move ahead, Mondrian (F) appears in the doorway they'd just come through from outside, holding her blaster out. She points it at Kass, then Jorn. "You're trespassing!" she shouts. "Come out here with your hands up, quietly," she says, "and then state your business!" |
| Volken Mons | Volken waits until he's some distance away from the office before turing around to glaance at it. He then looks around to see who is still watching him...before turning and beginning to move along on the road again. Then ...he finally answers back. <<Hey.>> There's silence for a moment as he thinks on how much to say and then. <<I was following up on a lead of my own. I'm going to take out Zealot. The leader of those mercenaries. Do you know where Cayde, Navi or any of the Jedi folk are? What's happening?>> He pauses and then says, <<"I need to repair my whipcord first and grab some things. I"m coming back to the spaceport....>> |
| Navi | "I don't think trying to force him to accept it is a good idea. That kind of thing is prone to failure and impossible to explain to a hostile target who knows what you just tried to do to him," Navi says. She looks to Master Rykard. "I understand your concern, Master, but if you can't see Mandalorians as anything but enemies of the Republic, then that is all they will ever be. Sometimes you have to build bridges on faith. Cayde, maybe you should tell Master Rykard about the training one of the youth among the Mandalorians was getting." A shout from further down the corridor draws a startled glance. "Pardon me a moment... I'm going to see just who's yelling about what," Navi murmurs, moving to peek out through the hospital room door. "It sounds like security." |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha shakes her head. "She just said...they were gone...and then ran off through some area that...I guess now that I think of it....it did look recently walked through..." Her shoulders drop then. "How bad did I mess up this time?" Which seems like something she does...every other time she does something. |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde doesn't respond to the question of whether to manipulate Volken into helping Jasper or not, as he has turned his focus toward attempting to restore the clone's memories. He tries to be as gentle as possible, creating a peaceful mindscape like the Coruscant rooftop garden he'd visited with Navi and Zetha. They needed to go back to the beginning... |
| Ellari Zin | << What lead? >> Ellari demands in response. << You know where Zealot is? I'm not sure where the Jedi are, but I think I saw them go into the hospital >> But then Mondrian suddenly appears and starts making demands. She smirks. "Now, now. I suggest you mind your own business, -officer-. This doesn't have to concern you, and it would be to your benefit if it didn't." |
| Jorn | Jorn's gloved hand goes near a holster. He won't fire the first shot, but he's ready to fire the last one. Just patiently waiting to see how others handle this one. Ellari is the better talking between them anyway. |
| Volken Mons | <<We need to canvas the gorge one more time. There's something we're missing. And this time -without- the Republic, deputies or the Jedi. Just us. Or me if you'd prefer. Doesn't matter... As to my lead? Can't tell you. Best if you didn't know for right now. Maybe after this blows over.. But I will say if we need to we should just take the clone and head back to Mandalore. Zealot first though. That might very well get us the real Baron...>> His voice trails off as the sound of the shouting comes through over the comm link. Volken pauses and goes quiet but he doesn't switch off just yet. Jorn, Er'gi and Kass should also see that his comm signal is active once more but the giant stays silent now and just ilstens in to catch what he can of what's going on. |
| Athena | The clone frowns at Navi but doesn't say anything, as he closes his eyes and allows Cayde to usher him into a peaceful mindscape and doing his best to not resist Cayde at all. And then Cayde will be able to see his very first memory - his birth in a laboratory somewhere, deep underground, out of a container filled with amniotic fluid. "They can be more than that," Rykard concedes, "but they must prove themselves. Jorn seems relatively pure in motive, but the others... I have a few doubts about the others." But then there's shouting, and as Navi goes off to investigate it, she'll be able to tell it's not so far away. Just down the hall, and to the right... Meanwhile, Mondrian presses a button on her commlink, her gaze flicking to Ellari briefly. "This is Mondrian, I'm at the hospital in downtown Kublop, and I need backup..." Then she squeezes the trigger on her blaster. The doctor is about to respond to Zetha, but then he hears the sounds of Mondrian shouting. He suddenly takes off down the hall, holding up a hand. "Stay in my office," he shouts back to Zetha. |
| Ellari Zin | Just as Mondrian is going to call for backup, Ellari sports her going for her blaster and does the same. The shots go off simultaneously...and strike near simultaneously as well. Ell is struck in the neck just below the edge of her helmet, sending her to the floor with a loud -clang-, where she remains motionless for the moment... |
| Volken Mons | Volken stops in the streets and frowns. He hears the shouting and the blaster fire going off. It's all very confusing sounding to him. He hears the thud of a body falling. <<...Ellari?>> |
