Owner Pose
Raith Even swoop racers get a whole day off where the tracks are being reset, or they're being given time to refresh their bikes. Raith could be doing that, but instead she's sitting at the bar in the lower level cantina giving love to a mug of brew and a cigarillo. The holoviewer's got some sappy movie playing that not many are paying much attention to. It's good background noise for the most part and blends in with the scattering of gamblers and other conversations the low lifes of Coruscant hold in low volumes.
Baelin Kalregar     Kalregar had promised two good doses of glitterstim to a swoop racer named Raith, and he plans to make good on that tonight. As promised, he would deliver it to her here, and today.

So he makes his way to the meetup with a small case containing the two vials, spotting the Mirialan and approaching the bar once again. "Two orders of glitterstim, coming right up. The good stuff, I promise." he says, sitting himself down on the stool next to hers and setting the case on the bar in front of them.
Raith There's a side eye given to the case as he sets it between them and then that gaze shifts to Baelin himself as he sits down next to her. "Well. You passed step one... which was staying good to your word of meeting me here again." She offers and then sets a credit chit on the table to slide in his direction. "I assume you won't be offended if I check the goods myself..." This gains him a grin as she releases the chit and then takes hold of the case to pull closer towards her.
Baelin Kalregar     Kalregar takes the chit, chuckling. "Step one? Of what? This some kind of test? And what's it for?"

He nods, opening the case to reveal the vials of glitterstim. "Of course." It is what had been agreed upon. Not the cheap diluted stuff, the concentrated stuff. This could probably last a while if stored properly. That is, unless she'd overdose by a vast amount. Which was not all -that- uncommon in some places around the Lower City.
Raith "Isn't everything a type of test?" Raith asks this with her own chuckle while he opens the case to reveal the vials. "Hot damn. This will last me a bit...and it looks like money well spent." She offers this much before glancing back to him. "Also, it's a test of if you were worthy enough to maybe consider doing business with you. On a more regular basis I mean... It's not easy to find someone willing to supply what I'm looking for. A lot of people don't want to touch the glitterstims." She flicks ashes off her cigarillo before taking another drag. "Not really sure why."
Baelin Kalregar     "I see." Kalregar replies, nodding. "And is there anything else you would be looking for, besides glitterstim? Or is it just glitterstim?" he asks.
Raith Raith seems to actually think on his question for a moment, reaching for her mug to take a generous drink. "Swoop bike parts maybe. There's a few things that are only sold on the black market. But my main want is spice. This'll last me a decent time to help keep any edge off..." She gives a little smirk then. "I mean unless you know of anything I might be interested in?"
Baelin Kalregar     "Black market bike parts, sure. I know a few guys." Kalregar nods, considering her words.

He arches a brow at her as she smirks a little. "I dunno Raith, I only just met you a day ago. So it's hard to say. But, let me ask you this: where do you see yourself in a few years? Still at the swoop racing game? Climb to the top of it? Higher? And why do you race? Just because it feels good, or is there something else? Something bigger? Deeper?"
Raith That kind of catches Raith off guard. All the sudden questions. "A few years? Sweetheart, I don't know where I'm going to be in a few months. I don't even know where I might be next week. In a pile of rubble because my bike went up in flames on me? Making it to the top of the ranks on Tattooine?" She shakes her head and downs the rest of her drink before signaling the barman for another. "Life like mine you don't live by the year. You live by the moment. I mean...I could have had a different life but I was lucky enough to be able to tell them no."
Baelin Kalregar     "So just keep doing what you're doing, I take it." Kalregar accepts with a nod. "Well, 's long as it makes you happy, what more can you ask for out of life, I guess." he laughs. "I'll take that to mean you'll just let me know if you ever find yourself longing for something a little unconventional. Or something you can't just buy off the streets."
Raith A moment is taken to mash out her cigarillo before Raith looks to him again. "Define unconventional..." Because he's keeping her intrigued without really saying much. Which is also a bit annoying as well.
Baelin Kalregar     "Oh, you know...things the laws don't like. Things you can't just walk into a shop and buy." Baelin answers, smirking a little.

"So, where else have you raced? Besides here, and Tattoine?"
Raith "Manaan, Taris and Telos..." Raith offers. "Usually when the money is good or someone's got a good price riding on the race and I can make my own cut." Without thinking about it, she holds her hand out to pull the refilled mug towards her without reaching and then picks it up to take a swig. "And I suppose that all depends on whose laws your bending... but I wouldn't say no to a good time somewhere that isn't a swoop racing world."
Baelin Kalregar     Oh, that's definitely noticed. "Yeah?" Kalregar begins. "And I'm willing to bet -that- gives you at least a bit of an edge over the competition, huh?" he asks, referring to that little Force pull. With that said though, he calls the bartender over and orders a drink for himself.
Raith Raith would deny it. Would make every excuse in the book. But why? "It really just helps take the edge off...and it's also why I don't use the stims for swoop racing. Can't help what comes naturally..." She takes another sip from her mug and then goes through the motions to light up another cigarillo. "Now you know my little secret. Guess I gotta kill you now..." But she is giving a grin when saying that bit.
Baelin Kalregar     "Don't worry," Kalregar says with a grin as the bartender brings his drink over and he takes a swig as well. "Your secret's safe with me." he promises. "Not that it'd disqualify you from anything. Swoop racing's still swoop racing."

"So," A brief and another sip. "The Order never approached your parents or anything? Or you never asked 'em?"
Raith "That's the job that I said no to. It's always an option for my people and many of us join The Order. It just wasn't in my cards...I was too attached to racing. I loved it the moment I first saw it. So it's not like I'm against The Order, and I believe in the Force..." Raith offers this with a shrug and takes another drink. "What about you... you always been drawn to the smuggler life?"
Baelin Kalregar     Kalregar nods. "Heh, you've been in love with the swoops for a long time, then." he remarks, knowing the Order likes them rather young. "You probably made the right choice...it's not an easy life. Got a kid with the Order myself." he tells her.

He scoffs slightly at that last question. "I dunno about 'drawn', it just kind of happened. My parents abandoned me when I was nine. Had to fend for myself somehow."
Raith "No, it's not. And of all the things I know about The Order - and especially of the Jedi - there are a few things I enjoy as an adult that I would have had to give up to follow that path. May the Force be with those who can...just wasn't for me." Raith offers. There's a little skirting done then as she says, "Well you seemed to have fended for yourself well enough, but I'm sorry to hear about your parents." Only to then add. "So you have a kid?"
Baelin Kalregar     "Yeah from what I can tell there are a -lot- of things you have to give up to follow that path." Kalregar mutters.

"Eh, they were bastards anyway." he remarks about his parents. "Probably did a better job taking care of myself than ever would've. And yeah, I have a few of those. Kids, I mean. Just the one with the Order, though. The rest are..." he shrugs. "Somewhere."
Raith "Ah.. well.. sounds like you deliver a bit more than product around the galaxy then..." Raith remarks with a grin and then drains the rest of her mug and asks the barman for her tab. "Put his drink on my tab too." Is then said before she side eyes him. "Do I get to keep the case or should I just pocket the goods? I'd love to stay and chat more but I have a bed that's calling my name."
Baelin Kalregar     "That's right." Kalregar replies, smirking. "I mentioned 'services', didn't I?"

He nods. "Yeah sure, keep the case." he answers, smiling amicably and standing up. "Pleasure doing business, Raith."
Raith That gives Raith a moment of pause. "You did." Then she smirks. "And now I'm curious how much -those- services would cost someone..." Then she chuckles and slips off her stool. "Keep being interesting, Baelin. I like that about you." Her tab - and his first drink at least - paid for before she turns to leave the cantina.
