| Athena | Zetha will find the engine room, cold, lonely, and pretty dark. Which is maybe what she prefers at the moment. It's been several hours since she's left the room she was assigned to, and relocated herself down here. No one's come looking for her, so that could be viewed as good... or bad. |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha digs into her backpack to find one of her ration bars to unwrap and take a bite. She doesn't mind the cold, or the dark. The loneliness might begin to bother her at some point but at least for the moment it's giving her mind time to settle. She's not sure what to think, or how to feel, or what to even say to certain people at this point. And she likely won't be able to avoid Thaarin forever - but damn the man for doing this to her. Not that she isn't partly to blame. Stupid feelings and being made to deal with them. |
| Athena | She might be rueing her situation and her damned feelings when she'll hear an almost imperceptible hissing sound coming from the reactor chamber. It's all the way at the end of the dim corridor... |
| Zetha Rumir | Lekku twitch at the sound that is almost missed if one isn't sitting in the dark and otherwise quiet room. It draws her attention enough that she unzips a pocket to pull out her flashlight and then moves to stand, beaming the light in the direction the sound is coming from. Hissing is never really a -good- sign in a reactor chamber... |
| Athena | The hallway to the reactor chamber is really dim, and the reactor chamber itself is even dimmer. When she gets there, she'll find it kind of... unorthodox. It looks like it had been designed for someone who probably had eight foot long tentacles .... or, didn't need to reach anything because they could just levitate themselves up to wherever they needed to reach. No handles, either. Well, isn't that something. |
| Zetha Rumir | Why do people have to make things so complicated? What if something goes wrong and...well. The Jedi -do- have the Force...but it takes more than the mystical lifting of things to put them into place! Never the less, Zetha will continue to look around to see if she can spot the source of the hissing. Or maybe she'll get injured trying... |
| Athena | Zetha will find herself having to step over varying pieces of machinery in here, as well as monkey her way across the left side of the room to make her way closer to the hissing sound. Thankfully, she does not trip or fall. As she nears it, she'll be able tell that the sound -must- be coming from one of the reactor chambers... |
| Zetha Rumir | "And me without my actual tools..." Zetha mutters to herself and then positions herself in a way she can safely open the reactor chamber - just to take a peak. Maybe it's just a small stowaway that they can keep until they get to Coruscant. Of course it could be an all powerful reactor monster about to eat her face. |
| Athena | The hissing sound is patterned and sounds mechanical, and as she gets nearer, she'll probably be relieved to see that unless the monster or stowaway is really, really small, there's no one there. But she'll need to angle herself closer in order to actually see what's causing the hissing sound - it's pretty dark in here. |
| Zetha Rumir | Okay so shift this way, twist that way...angle the flashlight juuuust right and then peer into the reactor chamber in the general direction of that hissing sound. The flashlight goes into the mouth to stay held while she also searches a pockett or two with her free hand for her mini-tools she always keeps on her. Because a junkyard scrapper is like a walking swiss army knife. |
| Athena | But when she sees the problem, she'll realize she's probably not going to be able to do this with the tools she has on hand. There's a leak in the hyperdrive reaction chamber, a very small one but Zetha will be able to tell that it's been leaking for some time because the coaxium has leaked onto the reactor chamber floor. Now, even going near it is risky - coaxium is highly volatile and if it gets too close to the main reactor chamber, down here is going to go ka-boom... |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha closes the chamber as gently as she opened it while trying to consider what to do next. Telling someone would be a good thing and then likely either helping fix it or strongly suggesting they get it fixed before taking off from Coruscant. Though that means leaving the safety of the engine room. She untwists herself from her hanging not-hanging position and then shifts to walk back over to her backpack. Maybe it will be alright. Maybe. |
| Athena | She'll be interrupted, though, as soon as she gets out of the reactor chamber room. Guess who she bumps into? Yes, of course. Thaarin. "Zetha," he says with mild surprise. "What are you doing down here?" The faint hissing sound can be heard again. "It's not safe down here," he chastises. |
| Zetha Rumir | "What's it look like I'm doing down here?" Zetha asks, then she scoffs. "No where is safe for me according to several people... but I make a living around engines and such...so honestly this feels like home." She pushes past him then so she can return to her backpack. "What are -you- doing here? Shouldn't you be afraid of getting your hands dirty?" Then, as luck would have it, there might be an incoming Cayde. This is really turning into a party....she's just not sure if it's a good one. |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde has been looking for Zetha now, in the case Soren's message to her might have anything at all in the way of leads. Being away from the gorge is a relief, at least. Anyway since the Twi'lek isn't in her room or anywhere else, he doesn't need the Force to figure he's down here somewhere in engineering. |
| Athena | "You made that up," Thaarin says, pushing past Zetha and into the reactor chamber. But he stops when he sees the layout of the reactor chamber. "Dammit," he mutters. |
| Zetha Rumir | "There's also an issue in one of the reactor cores. It's leaking. Not badly...but it will very likely need to get looked at by the time we get to Coruscant..." Zetha offers to the Chiis man. "I could try to fix it... but in the middle of flight it's probably not the best idea...from what I've managed to study anyway..." |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde wanders into the reactor room to find Zetha and Thaarin conversing. He notices the leak on the floor, and the concern about it. The padawan approaches, but just sort of stands there, waiting for someone to look at him, or something... |
| Athena | "I know that," Thaarin says, his tone mildly irritated. "We need to patch it," he says to Zetha. "That leak is one step away from an explosion that will drop us unexpectedly out of hyperspace. Which could get us all killed," he says, starting for the hyperdrive reactor. Then he notices Cayde, "Oh, perfect. This room was clearly designed for you," He says, "will you make your way back there and contain the leak with this?" He hands Cayde a strange multifaceted container that looks to have an airlock on every seam. "Just place it over the leak and it should conform to the outside of the chamber and the floor. Please be careful... coaxium is highly volatile." Zetha probably won't find the container foreign looking though - it's a device commonly used to contain small leaks midflight. |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha glowers and then shakes her head. "I know -that-... don't treat me like an idiot cause I will surely prove to you time and again that I am not." Her lekku twitch in mild irritation but she watches as Thaarin addresses Cayde who gets her attention a moment later. "Shouldn't be too bad, really. The leaks not too bad just yet. I just noticed it was hissing and came to investigate. While also claiming the engine room as my home for the next two weeks." |
| Cayde Alexis | Well Cayde is already taking initiative. In fact, before Thaarin even handed him the device, he had begun to gather the coaxium that has leaked out into a neat little spherical orb that just...floats there, the liquid rippling across its surface. When that device gets handed to him, he doesn't touch it but starts to float, too. And then move over toward the crack in the reactor. |
| Athena | "I never said that," Thaarin snaps at Zetha. "Don't assume. What I meant, is your communication skills could use improvement." He watches with satisfaction and mild admiration as the device seals over the crack with a quiet hiss. Carbon gas clouds the now sealed off compartment, obscuring the leak from view. Thaarin then hands Cayde a small container to deposit the coaxium into. "Thank you," he says to the padawan softly. Then his attention is back on Zetha. "You're not staying down here. It's not safe. If that container breaks and the coaxium reaches the main reactor, you'll be ashes before anyone can get down here. If you don't want to be near me, then just say so. I'll move." |
| Zetha Rumir | "-My- communication skills? Oh that's kriffing rich coming from you, sir." Zetha snaps right back at Thaarin and then watches with her own bit of admiration and respect as Cayde handles the leak with care and precision. Yeah. This is definitely a Jedi ship. "I don't mind being near you so long as you can quit snapping my lekku off every five minutes. Maybe actually have a conversation with me that doesn't begin and end with you berating me and then running away from your feelings - and me - at the end of it all. We -need- to have a talk, Thaarin, and I -want- to be near you. Thick headed as you're being right now..." Then he own attention turns to Cayde. "And for the record. I'm not giving up on Soren. I'm following his wishes." |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde watches them argue with a concerned gaze, but there isn't exactly room for him to try to intervene, at least without any kind of mental intrusion. The orb of coaxium sails gently into the container so that Thaarin can seal it off. He nods when Zetha tells him she isn't giving up on Soren. [Thank you] he signs. [What did the message say] he asks. [...any clue] |
| Athena | His eyes narrow. "I initiated an apology, and asked for your forgiveness. I said all that you requested of me, including why I did what I did, how I felt and even told you what I want. You still could not give it. Instead, you're still making baseless assumptions." He seals the container once the coaxium is in it, shaking his head. "If you don't want to forgive me, then fine. I'll live with it, and there's nothing to discuss if it's true." He turns to leave. |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha's lekku twitch as she watches Cayde for a moment and then shakes her head. "No. He pretty much just told me not to be angry, that he did what he thought was best, and he wishes me well. And all I know from beforehand...is that he was going to the lab. He had Caine's biometrics so he could gain access without a key card. And that he wasn't intending on returning after." She offers this gently to the Padawan before her attention goes back to Thaarin. "You're right. You did apologize, and I do forgive you. I don't want you to move out of the room, and I'll come back in a little bit. But you didn't tell me what you wanted. Not really. If you're still in the room when I return...I'd like to talk. Civily." |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde frowns, listening. The lab...but...suddenly something occurs to him. [...he told you...when] he asks. |
| Athena | Thaarin's expression softens. "I would have thought you'd already known," he says quietly. "That I'd made it abundantly clear that if I could be Crane..." He sighs. "But there's no use speculating about what could have been. I'm not, I'm not going to try to be, and that's not open for debate." Then he pockets the container with the coaxium and disappears back down the dim corridor leading out of the reactor chamber. |
| Zetha Rumir | It's here that Zetha realizes her mistake and it's not one that she can easily take back. "Cayde. Forget it. Okay? Soren's gone...and we need to respect that...not go off chasing after his ghost..." When Thaarin speaks she pauses to listen but he's gone before she can reply. Her face goes through a few stages and lands on...a mixture of things. But then she shakes her head and looks back to Cayde once more. "It doesn't matter when...it just matters that it happened...." |
| Cayde Alexis | Wait, but she -just- said she wasn't giving up on him. Cayde frowns. [So...you do give up then] he signs, his expression falling. |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha makes a face then. "You didn't sense him on Teeno...where is he supposed to be? He left just before you and the others arrived...he took what I gave him, had me stitch Caine up and that was it. He was gone...I don't -want- to give up on him..." In fact, she's signing some of those words as if to emphasize their meaning to her. "But with no leads...where do we start? How? Any ideas?" |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde arches a brow at her. He might be strong in the powers of the mind, but not -so- strong that they encompass an entire -planet-. [If lab then still on Tenoo] he points out. [If lab then lead] he additionally points out. [...want to cure the beloved woman] he adds finally. |
| Zetha Rumir | "Beloved woman? You mean...Soren is trying to cure someone he cares about? In the lab?" Zetha tries to piece together what Cayde is saying. "Aren't the Mandos also looking for the lab? Do you think they may find him there then?" She pauses for a moment and then sighs. "If he's there, and alive...what if he doesn't want to be found?" |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde nods. [Maybe only way...] he signs to the bit regarding this being about someone he cares for. [Maybe they find him yes...] Or at least evidence of his presence, anyway. Hopefully. He shrugs at the question of whether Soren wants to be found. Honestly, the doctor probably -doesn't- want to be found. But it doesn't matter. [Find him...even if not wanted] |
| Zetha Rumir | "It hurts, you know? That's why I reacted the way I did. Almost because I didn't know how to react. I feel like he abandoned us. All of us. All at pivotal moments where he's more wanted than not." Zetha says this much and then shakes her head. "We'll find him. Or someone will. Maybe I can reach out to Volken. Or even Crane..." |
| Cayde Alexis | Now that was more like it, right? Well yes, he did abandon everyone... Cayde reaches out and pats her on the shoulder. [Soren broken man] he signs. Well that was the best way he could put it. [Mistakes in life...penitence is never enough] [Find him and show him...he matters...needed more] A brief pause. Then, [He is married] he signs, nodding. |
| Zetha Rumir | "How are you holding up anyway? With all this and now we're off to Coruscant?" Zetha asks almost as if suddenly aware Cayde may have feelings too. "Wait. He's -married-?" That's a shocker. Then, other thoughts come into play and Zetha frowns. "Also, sorry about earlier. Between me and Thaarin...you...shouldn't have had to see that. Or hear it...I guess..." |
| Cayde Alexis | Yes of course Cayde has feelings. He's just not very good at showing or expressing them. [Okay...want to break from Tenoo] he tells her. Which is true, at least. [Force is too strong in valley] He nods when she asks if Soren is truly married. [Yes married...to my mother] he admits. [Mother dying...ill for long time] he signs, averting his gaze momentarily. [Feel her life fading in the Force...slow but certain] |
| Zetha Rumir | "Wait wait wait...your mother? The same woman Navi and I rescued from the hotel and took to the hospital? Was he married to her before then? Is that what was taking up his time for so long?" Zetha asks this, completely in shock. Like she really cannot believe it. It does, however, begin to put a lot of things into perspective. And Soren didn't know she knew Cayde's mother was on the planet. "That's....I don't know what to say...." And so she doesn't say anything. But this sure does make her current issues look real small in comparison. |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde nods again. [Yes marry for years before...marry on Nakadia...home on Nakadia] he tells her, beginning to open up more about this as it seemed to give her some new understanding of this. [Desperate to save her] he adds in conclusion. [Lab only way] |
| Zetha Rumir | "So he went to the lab to save your mother. And likely that was always why he wanted to get to the lab. The things with the Arkanians a distant concern but..." Zetha says this and then stops before shaking her head. "Emotions are so complicated. Maybe that's one thing the Jedi get right. To not have strong attachments. Isn't that one of the rules?" Then she sighs and looks away. "Sorry. That was crass. And rude. I'm not really okay right now and words are just....I'm not thinking before I say things." |
| Cayde Alexis | [Attachment lead to strong emotion and give in to emotion] Cayde replies, nodding. It was especially important for him, and those gifted in the Powers of the Mind. [You think Jedi wrong about many things] he asks. [But Order not for everyone] |
| Zetha Rumir | "I think the Jedi have a few misguided concepts I guess...but in the long run....you all try to maintain order. Which is good." Zetha says this much. "In some moments I know I've spoken ill about them, but it was more knee jerk reactions than truth. I respect you all...even if I don't really show it." |
| Cayde Alexis | [Thank you] Cayde signs, nodding. Then he looks around the reactor room, before looking back to her. [You sleep here now] he asks. |
| Zetha Rumir | "I was going to. Someone thought it would be real funny to put me and Thaarin in a room together. And the jerk went and got all emotional on me. It's...complicated...but..." Zetha sighs. "I figured him having the room alone would be best and I really could sleep here just fine....I sleep in a junkyard for kriff's sake..." |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde nods again. [Me too] then climbs up onto a mostly flat surface above the hyperdrive chambers. |
| Zetha Rumir | "I should still go talk to him..." Zetha offers. "Do you need a ration stick? I have a few..." She offers this much... |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde peers down at her. [Thaarin want to love you] he signs. He doesn't even need the Force to know that. The padawan actually looks kind of excited at the offer of a ration stick. He nods quickly and accepts the food. |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha moves to her bag to grab the ration stick, she actually grabs a couple, and then brings them back over to hand to Cayde. "I know he does. I want to love him too. But I also love Crane..." She frowns. "You were trying to tell me something the other day. Will you tell me now?" |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde eagerly accepts the ration bars, pocketing one and beginning to open the other, but he pauses to sign back to her question, arching a brow at her. [When other day...what about] he asks. |
| Zetha Rumir | "When you followed me after I ran with Caine...to the junkyard. You were going to tell me something...you sort of did. You said the marauder wasn't going to hurt me...and you seemed so certain about it. Then you got cut off..." Zetha offers. "It's just always felt like there was something more you wanted to say and never did. I could be wrong though." |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde sighs. [Words not enough...told you in mind] he reminds her. [I can show again...if you wanted] he offers, then starts into that ration bar. |
| Zetha Rumir | "If you don't mind?" Zetha asks. Tilting her head just so. "My mind is a terrible place sometimes...I might have missed the mark." |
| Cayde Alexis | Cayde nods and holds out a hand, and if she'll take it, she'll witness the same somewhat disorienting vision consisting of...flowers, and a boat, followed by a crowded spaceport with a Tholothian woman cradling a young child and singing some sort of lullaby. A Tholothian boy is standing a short distance away, watching curiously. Though, he looks familiar--he could have been 'Crane' when he was much younger. |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha will take his hand and then sees the vision. Flowers. Boat. The crowded spaceport. The woman and child. The young boy watching from afair. "Yeah. I remember this. I thought you were just trying to show me something gentle? Like a memory?" Though instead of the vision being stripped away she lets it continue if it will. |
| Cayde Alexis | It doesn't. The vision fades then, it seems that's all Cayde was trying to tell her, as he withdraws his hand then. [That is what I tell you...best way I can tell you] he signs. |
| Zetha Rumir | Zetha just stands there for a moment and then she nods. "Thank you." A smile offered then. "I should go talk to Thaarin...if he'll talk to me. Let you sleep. See you soon?" |
| Cayde Alexis | [He will talk] Cayde assures her, nodding. He doesn't say much else though, as he busies with himself with that ration bar. |
