| Athena | As soon as Navi and Thaarin leave Zetha's suite, the tall blue skinned man turns to the young Sephi girl and says, "If that Black fellow resurfaces, I want you to notify me and Rykard, immediately." He then pauses, then continues with, "I'll be available via comms - but I do need to review both Zetha and Cayde's testimonies. I'll see you," he says, then turns to leave. |
| Navi | "All right. Take care, Thaarin. If you need to review my testimony again, I'll make it available to you," Navi replies. She had the advantage of having finished hers before they landed on Coruscant, which is starting to feel more and more like a very wise precaution. She turns toward her room, sighing. "Now for that long hydroshower... it's barely afternoon, and I'd swear it's late evening," she murmurs. |
| Athena | As Navi is heading towards her room, she'll espy Taryn on the far end of the hallway. He hasn't seen her yet, but the way he's walking at a quick page with furrowed brows to... somewhere, might give Navi the heads up that he isn't just taking a leisurely stroll around the Alisandre. |
| Navi | Navi frowns faintly as she sees Taryn walking at such a pace. "Wonder what's got him in a mood..?" she murmurs, and decides to follow him. Which she does, keeping as quiet as she can while walking normally. |
| Athena | Navi's footsteps are quiet enough that Taryn doesn't notice. He continues down the hallway, all the way to the lift. The young Sephi girl will be able to see that he's going down the second floor... |
| Navi | "Second floor, huh..?" Navi murmurs, and detours for the stairs. "Time for some impromptu cardio." She takes the stairs as quickly as she safely can, knowing Taryn will be out of the turbolift by the time she gets there... |
| Athena | And he is, indeed out of the lift by the time she arrives. He's standing behind a pillar, peering down at the courtyard. Navi will be able to see who he's spying on - the stunning and wicked Xera Graf. She's sitting at a table down there, looking, for the moment, unpreoccupied. |
| Navi | Navi finds another pillar, out of Taryn's line of sight, but with a clear line of sight to Xera. Not without some regret, she quietly takes down her twintails and combs them loose with her fingers, to make her silhouette less distinctive, tucking her pigtail clasps into her pockets. Then she settles in to watch The Xera Graf Show... |
| Athena | She seems serene, just journaling on a datapad. And just for the briefest of moments, it's easy to forget that she's a ruthless woman who bragged constantly about being the Tenoo colony's pocketbook... But then, a well dressed Mon Calamari strolls into the courtyard, and waves at Xera. The woman then smiles and gets up, her sweetness disingenuous but convincing. They exit the hotel, and Taryn, still not having seen Navi, goes to follow discreetly as well... |
| Navi | "Now who might you be?" Navi murmurs, watching the Mon Calamari. The sight of Xera's smile makes her heart skip a beat, just like it always does, and she has to force herself to remember that this woman may be eyebrows-deep in a terrible criminal conspiracy spanning at least one star system. She hurries to follow the pair, and the one following them, once more trying to move quickly but discreetly. |
| Athena | Oh, no. They're getting into a luxury taxi, that's now heading away from the Alisandre. Navi will have to think quickly if she wants to follow. Taryn seems to have disappeared for the time being as well... |
| Navi | "Frell..!" She should have considered the possibility that they would take a taxi or some other transportation! Navi hastily looks around for a way to follow them... ...and spies another taxi coming along. Lifting her arm, she steps closer to the traffic lanes and cries, "Ta-XIIIIIIII!!!" |
| Athena | The taxi is whizzing past, but the driver happens to see Navi at the very last moment, and screeches to a halt in front of her. A cranky looking Gran leans out. "Where to?" he grunts. |
| Navi | Navi clambers inside, pointing at the departing luxe cab. "Follow that taxicab," she says as she shuts the door and fastens her seatbelt. |
| Athena | The Gran gives Navi a suspicious look. "...Jedi business?" he says, as he starts to pull away from the Alisandre. "You better hope they're not going far - I don't like to get involved in things for regular fare..." |
| Navi | "Jedi business. And I'll make sure you get a nice bonus. Just make sure they don't see you trailing them," Navi replies, watching the taxi through the windshield. |
| Athena | "Hn," the Gran grunts reluctantly, and obeys the young Sephi girl. He pulls into the fast moving traffic heading for downtown Coruscant, tailing the taxi Xera's in from a safe distance. Navi won't be at all surprised when they eventually both arrive at an upscale looking nightclub... |
| Navi | "Can you drop me off about a block past them?" Navi asks, sorting through her credit pouch. She makes sure to pay the cranky Gran double what's on the taximeter, and a generous tip, once they're parked. A nightclub... this might take a little ingenuity, Navi thinks. Her colonial clothing would stand out like a beacon in there... |
| Athena | The Gran pulls up about a block away from the nightclub and then the door pops open. "Good luck," he says dryly. "... You're gonna need it." And then he drives off. The young Sephi girl wouldn't be wrong - everyone going into the nightclub is dressed formally... |
| Navi | "It /would/ be a club..." Navi grumbles, eyeing the queue outside in frustration. She has to step aside as a human female in a waitress's uniform and a civilian jacket hurries past, headed for the rear of the club. And then she watches the waitress jogging to the rear entrance, an idea coming to her... |
| Athena | The alleyway where the rear entrance is dimly lit, and smells awful. But it's lit enough that Navi won't have a hard time keeping the waitress in her sights. She slips in through a creaky back door that closes too slowly... |
| Navi | Navi slips in behind her, needing only to give the door a subtle nudge with her shoulder to clear it before it closes... |
| Athena | But the subtle nudge makes the creaky door even noisier than it normally is! The waitress who slipped in before her suddenly stops, and then turns around slowly. ".... hello?!" Navi will have to be quick if she doesn't want the girl to see her! |
| Navi | Navi hastily slips through a side doorway, barely in time to avoid the waitress's startled look. She holds as still as she possibly can until the girl leaves. Only then does she begin her cautious search for a disguise. |
| Athena | It's going to take some poking around. Most of the boxes are filled with party decor, some of it tasteful, some of it... not so tasteful. The rest are filled with dinnerware that doesn't look like it's been used in decades. But finally she'll come upon a closet with uniforms. |
| Navi | Navi looks through a sizeable storeroom, riffling through boxes and containers and occasionally blushing at some of the considerably less tasteful party decorations she finds. It's a little while before she finally comes across a closet that holds waitstaff uniforms. She sorts through the outfits, selecting articles that fit her size and measurements. Only when she has a full uniform gathered does she finally undress and put on her disguise. Once she's properly dressed, at least for a waitress, she carefully hides her clothes and gear in a box on top of the closet. |
| Athena | Well, now it's time to make her way out to the dance floor, where everyone is drinking and indulging their hedonistic desires. Hopefully she doesn't get too much unwanted attention. The music drowns out any other noise she might hear and rattles her chest -- but at least from where she is, she'll have a good vantage point from which to search for Xera. |
| Navi | Navi filches a tray from a stack beside the kitchen door and steps into the club proper, finding herself on the edge of a dance floor. She begins to circulate about the floor, trying to walk confidently, as if she belongs here, while still avoiding the patrons moving around, whether to the rhythm of the music, or just from place to place. She's quietly grateful for her Jedi and Brotherhood balance and athletic training; it saves her from more than one accidental collision. Now all she needs to do is find Xera Graf... |
| Athena | It's crowded and there are a lot of sweaty bodies in here. A few people catcall her, but it's loud enough to just ignore it completely without it seeming odd. After several minutes of searching, she'll see the elusive Xera Graf and her Mon Calamari friend slipping into a larger crowd on one of the balconies above her. |
| Navi | "Okay, there you are..." Navi murmurs, moving to find a way up onto the balconies. She doubts she'll be able to hear anything the two are saying over the music, but maybe there will be something to see as much as hear. |
| Athena | But once Navi gets up there, she'll find that she's lost them. They must have been trying to keep a low profile. All around Navi, the club's patrons dance, drink, make lust to each other. Xera had to be here somewhere - there's private rooms lining the hallway. |
| Navi | "Bother... that woman sure knows how to disappear," Navi murmurs, and begins to check on the private rooms along the hallway. Maybe there's a way to see inside without being seen... |
| Athena | Indeed. There are windows, but they're frosted glass. However, some of the doors do have windows on them, that aren't frosted. They're very small, and won't give Navi much of a look into the room, but at least she'll be able to glimpse the material and color of the satin dress Xera had been wearing earlier. Hopefully no one else in this club is wearing that same dress. But knowing Xera, it's probably custom made so the odds of that are very low... |
| Navi | "There you are..." Navi murmurs, spying a familiar satin dress through one of the tiny door windows. But satin dresses aren't that uncommon. She must be sure... Reaching into the Force, she begins to make small adjustments to its flow between herself and the woman in satin, to peek into her surface thoughts. "Gotcha, Xera," she whispers triumphantly. It's a shame she can't hear a thing from outside the room, though... and not just because no one can hear anything over the pounding music. |
| Athena | She'll be able to ascertain it's her, alright, but not much else. She's meeting with that Mon Calamari, and he's from some jury counsel organization. But Navi won't be able to discern much else. If only she could find a way in or listen in without them knowing... |
| Navi | "No way I'm getting in there without being seen," Navi muses. Noticing a security camera bubble, she decides to search for the security office and its banks of monitors. It seems likely that there is a camera and mic inside the privacy booths just for the sake of security. |
| Athena | For whatever reason, the security guard isn't in the room with all the camera feeds. She'll be able to slip in easily. But, the audio isn't on by default. She'll have to figure out how to turn it on... |
| Navi | "Wonder why nobody's home..." Navi murmurs, sneaking into the security office monitor room. Once inside, she finds the wall of monitors, but doesn't find any sound feeds active. "There's got to be a way to make these mics work," she murmurs, studying the console before her. For a minute or two she can only stare at it, but then her hand accidentally brushes a button, and an instant later a mic is activated, sending someone's conversation right into the speakers. Looking at the console displays after touching the button again, she discovers buttons for each camera and its related mic. It's the work of a moment or two to find Xera's private room, and another to touch her button and the sound button. She smirks faintly and leans back in the chair to listen to the conversation. |
| Athena | Unfortunately, the meeting Xera's hosting with the Mon Calamari appears to be at an end. Yet, at least Navi will be able to see what they're doing just before the Mon Calamari leaves. Xera is paying him -- in cold hard credits, and no small sum either, from the looks of it. It's a full briefcase. "That should be twenty thousand," Xera's saying. "I suppose you could count it now, if you want. But that's a risk that you might regret taking." |
| Navi | Navi leans forward to catch the last of the meeting. "Maybe I'd better stay put until they actually leave the room," she murmurs, well aware that any little bit of info might be important. |
| Athena | "It's fine," The Mon Calamari says, taking the briefcase. "I shouldn't tarry. Well, this has been productive. I'll... not be seeing you, ever again." And he gets up and goes out of the room, disappearing into the thronging crowd outside in the hallway. |
| Navi | "And are you leaving too, Xera?" Navi murmurs. "Or have you got another appointment?" She lingers over the console, eyes on the camera feed, to see the answer to her question. |
| Athena | It doesn't look like she does. Shortly after the Mon Calamari leaves, Xera gathers herself and exits the room as well, heading for the exit of the posh nightclub. |
| Navi | Navi turns off the mic and leaves the security office. "I wonder just who that Mon Cal is," she murmurs, looking for the well-dressed alien as she makes her way back toward the kitchen. |
| Athena | She won't find him, but on her way out, she'll see him hail a taxi, heading straight for the Federal District. Wherever he lived or worked, it was probably near the Alisandre Hotel, and that's telling. |
| Navi | "Sure is funny what you can find out during a trip to a rowdy club," Navi muses as she hails a taxicab back to the Alisandre. She quietly wonders if Cayde's many unauthorized solo excursions ever go this well, at least for a moment or two. "Maybe once," she decides, as she climbs into her taxicab. |
| Athena | She might be surprised to find it's the same Gran who'd taken her earlier. "Long time no see," he grunts. "Looks like you were successful... at least to a degree, since you're alive." And with that, he starts heading back towards the Alisandre. |
| Navi | "Yeah. You don't have to follow anyone this time, so no bonus. Sorry. But I still tip well," Navi replies as she straps herself in. "Alisandre Hotel, please." |
