Cayde Alexis     It's another day at the Federal District CSF precinct, busy as usual. At some point toward the end of the day, Drinna receives a call from the reception area.

"Officer Talstri, I believe there is...someone here to see you. ...You know one of the Jedi?"
Drinna Drinna audible laughs and shakes her head, "I'll be right there." She puts her pen down and stands up from the desk. Every since the Mandalorian debacle, she's been keeping her head down and doing her work. She had no issue with being in the spotlight, but when it involved a massive mess - she did.

Heading out to the reception area she caught sight of Cayde right away. She waved and then motioned for them to head outside. This would probably be a better conversation away from all CSF ears. Plus, it was a nice day outside. Once they were seated outside on a bench, at least ten feat from the CSF she asked, [How are you?]
Cayde Alexis     Indeed, there was no mistaking the young padawan. Cayde smiles amicably and and follows her outside, sitting down on the bench with her just like last time.

But this time, he has a small box with him, which is decorated with metallic paint patterns from one of the nicer restaurants in the Uscru district. This he offers to her, setting in her lap. [I am well thank you] he signs.
Drinna Drinna looks at the box curiously, [What's this for] She hadn't been expecting a gift.
Cayde Alexis     [For you] Cayde answers, arching a brow at her. Well of course it was for her, that was obvious. But what other answer was there?

He watches her with mild anticipation, waiting for her to open it.
Drinna Drinna looks at the box curiously, [For me] She signs again slowly before adding, [You didn't have to but, thank you] She opens the box and smiles.
Cayde Alexis     The box contains a gift certificate for The Black Hearts, a nicer restaurant and bar in the Upper Uscru district. It's not a huge amount, but enough for at least a couple of drinks. After all, she'd said they owed her drinks, anyway. Also, there is a flower that seems to be made out of candy and covered with sugar that glitters when the light hits it just right.
Drinna Drinna looked at the contents and then to Cayde, [This is really sweet. You'll join me at the restaurant right?] She wouldn't to go alone and the gesture was one that caught her off guard. Not many people ever gave her things without wanting a favor.
Cayde Alexis     [If you want] Cayde answers, nodding, and finding himself also surprised at the invitation. Not many people invited him to things, either. [Not the best company...] he adds, looking away briefly.
Drinna Drinna laughs, [Neither am I. So we'll be fine.] She put the lid on the box, [I saw your dad again.]
Cayde Alexis     [But I think you are] Cayde tells her when she says she isn't good company either.

He sighs when she mentions his father. [yes and...] he signs, waiting for her to go on.
Drinna Drina smiled, [Not many people know me up here and down there. I normally have to be /very/ careful about what I say. It's tiring.]

She shrugged, [I met Navi. I helped her get a key from him. I had hoped that I could get him to trust me so I could help further a CSF investigation, but he thinks I stole the key so he probably won't talk to me again.]
Cayde Alexis     Cayde nods. [That does sound tiring] he remarks. A dual lifestyle...he tries to fathom what that might be like. [Why...to trick criminals] he guesses.

[He is difficult to catch...] With the number of bounties on his head, that probably went without saying.
Drinna Drinna shook her head, [No.] She was trying to find a way to explain it. [There's only so much one can learn from books and training. We have laws and rules, but people navigate them and get away with things.I go to the lower levels to learn. To watch. To help.

Drinna thought of Kalregar and their last encounter,[I don't know if it's that he's difficult, or that people are just afraid of him.] Drinna shrugged, [When I talked to him, he didn't seem that complex.] She tapped her fingers lightly on the box, [He really wanted to see you.]
Cayde Alexis     Cayde nods slowly as she explains. [To learn their ways] he signs. To find out what made them tick. It made sense, certainly. Knowing the enemy was half the battle, something he'd definitely learned at the Temple.

He shakes his head when she again mentions that Kalregar wanted to see him. [I know...but too dangerous] he reiterates. Less for himself, and more for...well, everyone else.
Drinna Drinna nodded [Exactly. Plus, up here people treat me like I'm only worthwhile because my family is important. Down there, nobody cares. If I have a reputation, I earned  it.]

[If I went with you, to see him. Would that be different?] The chances of Kalregar letting her near him again was a slim one, but she had some contacts to pull information from.
Cayde Alexis     [Family is important...why] Cayde asks. [Because...your father] he guesses. He's starting to get the picture. She felt she needed to prove something to her family and peers, perhaps.

He shakes his head again. Actually, it would be even worse. The padawan frowns pensively, trying to come up with a way to explain it to her, but he just doesn't know how to phrase it. It's such a complicated matter...
Drinna [Important only to those who like power and money.] Drinna explained, [There are expectations. Lots of them. Many ways to embarrass the family/] She sighed and ran a hand through her hair, [It's okay if you don't want to see your dad. I can sometimes push too hard. I'm sorry.]
Cayde Alexis     [Power is not always so great] Cayde remarks. People who don't have it think they want it, but they really just want the privilege without the responsibility...unfortunately, it's hard to separate the two.

[Lose control...chaos] he signs, and makes a sort of 'explosion' motion with his hands. [Your father wants power and money] he finally adds that guess.
Drinna Drinna looks at Cayde, [You'll explode] She asks curiously, [We definitely don't want that]

[My father /has/ power and money. He values it highly. As do most of my family. I'm the weird one who doesn't] She grins, [But that's ok. It helps me when I need it up here. And I like just being Rin down there.]
Cayde Alexis     Cayde shakes his head. No, no, not that he will literally explode. [Chaos...I can harm others] he explains. Or at least, attempts to. [Volken] he signs, spelling out the large Mandalorian's name. Thankfully, he'd been able to handle it. But not everyone could.

[Why you hate him] he wonders, when she mentions her farther values power and money highly.
Drinna At the mention of Volken Drinna chuckles, [Can anything harm him? He's huge.] She grins, [I get it. Jedi powers scare me a little so I trust you when you say chaos.]

Drinna thought of his question. She chewed her lip slightly and then said, [I don't know if I hate him or I hate that I'm not good enough for him.]
Cayde Alexis     [They scare me too] Cayde replies, nodding.

He frowns when she mentions her relationship with her father. There is an odd feeling, like an aura of sorts, coming from him. She can tell he genuinely cares. But she didn't seem ready to talk about it just yet.

The young Jedi stands up then. [Meet at Black Hearts] he signs, nodding and smiling warmly again before heading toward the Temple.
