Owner Pose
Navi Navi watches Xera, the statuesque and apparently generous but fickle woman in lavendar, depart the casino with her boduguards in tow. Tucking her credits into her medical satchel, she starts to jog after her.
Volken Mons She would find a massive limb moving infront of her to block her movements. A deep voice rolls out with a languid but firm, "Whoa, whoa, hey, hey, hey... Slow down there.."

Volken's presence is easily noted at that point. The goliath is like a moving wall not unlike the Dowutins wandering about. Perhaps even bigger. Despite said size he seems to have intercepted Navi quite easily, moving with a sort of languid, yet somehow still dexterous bit of movement like some sort of massive predatory land animal.

"You don't want to go getting yourself in trouble now, do you?"
Navi Navi halts, blinking in surprise. "Trouble? Forgive me if I don't understand... what do you mean by trouble?" she asks, taking a step back and studying him in confusion. "Didn't I see you at the Life Day celebration?" she asks, more softly.
Volken Mons "Which one?" asks Volken, his grin practically audible through his helmet, implying with a cheerful rumble that he likely got around from party to party.

"And trouble in that this Xera lady is one of the movers and shakers here on Canto Bight and has a guards posting arms nearly as big as mine and the willingness to throw someone like you clear from the casino and downn to the race tracks below if they're so inclined. If she didn't stop to collect you it means she didn't want to. So chasin' after her is just likley to get you in a heap of trouble and me in some trouble if I decide to leap to your rescue and start breaking bodies...."
Navi "Oh... well, I definitely don't want anybody's body to be broken, no matter whose it is. I'll take your advice," Navi replies, with a regretful look after Xera. "I'd hoped to see her again. The company at the tables has proven very unfriendly. And rather lacking in manners, too," she adds, pouting at the doorway.
Volken Mons "You want me to break them instead?"

Volken's grin remains a thing that can be felt through the rumble of his incredibly deep voice.

"Folk shouldn't be rude. It might be a good idea to teach them a lesson on that. Encourage them to e nicer next time if they don't want to be folded in half?"

He chuckles softly and then finally reaches up and removes his helmet, revealing his face. He's thuggish looking, huge necked, messy dark hair that hangs and falls long about his face in coiled strands and a cheerful expression on his bearded visage despite his brutal conversation.

Though brutish he's not bad looking just...rough and massive.

"Whaddya say>" he asks, almost trying to be the proverbial devil imp on her shoulders.
Navi "Well... I confess that I was inclined toward such a gesture, but I doubt the security would appreciate it, even if I weren't both raised and trained to encourage peaceful coexistence," Navi says, blushing faintly. "And I doubt I could begin to afford to hire you, if that's what you're thinking. No offense. I've got just enough for my ticket back to Jedha and a night's lodging near the spaceport."
Volken Mons "Weeellllll...at least you considered it. I'd offer you my discounted rate but you might be smarter in spending the money the way you got it planned unless you want to risk the tables again..."
he massive brute seems amused by it all... perhaps having only been joking to begin with but then again, there's a hint of chaos in his eyes as well. He might very well have started over turning tables and hurtling patrons on her say so...

"Course, I wonder why you -don't- have more credits now. Didn't Xera favor you by leading you to a table? I thought I Saw her whisper a word to one of the workers. I was figurin' they were gonna tip the odds in your favor in order to amuse her. What'd you do? Spend it all already?"
Navi "Wellllll... she promised to pay any debts I amassed," Navi explains. "But that would still have left me with no money. I don't know what she said to her employee, but I noticed that the dice were weighted when I came to the table. When I asked for new dice, the employee suggested I try the Sabacc table instead... which suited me, because the players and the croupier at the table seemed awfully intimidating."

"But the players at the Sabacc table were rude too, and they all left the table after only a few hands. So I'm kind of not sure what her intentions were, and she left without saying anything else to me. It's a shame, really. She seemed nice. But I had a niggling worry that she might have wanted me in her debt, so I would do her a favor of some kind. But she's so pretty and nice... I'd rather not believe such a thing of her, but I just don't know... this place is nothing like the Holy City."
Volken Mons "Hmm.."

Volken considers this explanation as he takes a seat at one of the tables near the exit they had been moving for. His presence combined with hers seems to have moved activity away from there. Likely not wanting to associate with them ..coupled with the giants vastness.

"Sounds like you might have outsmarted them and they got annoyed." he finally concludes while rubbing his jaw. "See, if you got weighted dice then it's a good chance you were being setup to roll one way or the other. Possibly to build up a lot of debt and end up owing her something in return...or..if she was in a giving mood to win a lot and you still end up owing her for the favor of working at her table."

He girns slowly, "You don't strike me as the sort that normally comes to a place like this so you have to stay on your toes so you don't get taken advantage of. Bein' from Jedha, I suppose that makes sense...."
Navi "You would be correct. I am Navi, a Novice of the Shining Brotherhood. We are dedicated to exploring the mysteries of the Force, and to doing good works for other sentients. The Force actually led me here, but I'm not sure why. Perhaps I will know when the time comes," Navi says. "I have learned from hard experience that I must be careful everywhere I go, for the reasons you mentioned and more. So I have gotten in the habit of considering offers in a less benign light than I ever wanted to."
Volken Mons "Huh.."

Volken's expression becomes more neutral at that. Thoughtful.

"The Force. You mean like those sorcerers back on Coruscant?"

The giant Mandalorian considers that, frowning now in thought. "I know about Jedha but I've never been there before. I'm doing some good guessing here but based on what i -do- know...Canto Bight isn't exactly your normal style of stomping ground. So yeah, you'd be wise to stay careful...Force guiding you here or not...but.."

He glances out the door, "I doubt it had anything to do with ...her... Unless The Force wants you in with someone that might be bad news.."

After another pause he glances back, "Volken of Clan Mons."
Navi "Do you mean the Jedi Order? They're headquartered there," Navi suggests, lowering her gaze in the process. "The Sorcerers of Tund are another possibility, but they are few and far between away from their homeworlds, and I don't remember them opening a chapterhouse or temple on Coruscant."

She nods as he continues. "As do I, honestly. I felt... nothing during our interaction, so it seems a bit unlikely that she was what the Force was pointing me toward. Also, I'm honored to meet you, Volken of Clan Mons."
Volken Mons "Yes. The Jedi."

The term sorcerer' is casually tossed around for sure but Volken has heard the name before and reacts easily to hearing it.

"I seem to keep running into them when I'm there but of course I'm not -supposed- to go there. Then again I'm not uspposed to do lots of things I do so..whatever...."

That shark like grin returns and he nods his head, "Yeah...yeah nice to meet you. So was The Force 'wrong' maybe? Think you got a bad read on it? Or you plan on sticking around until you figure it out? And what are you gonna do -if- you see what you were pointed at? Looking for trouble?"
Navi "The Force doesn't lie... sometimes those who use the Force lie, but the Force doesn't," Navi replies softly. "And I suppose I'll deal with it based on what I encounter, so I suspect I'll be in Canto Bight until I understand why I was drawn here. Hope it doesn't take too long. I really don't want to run out of money."

She looks up a little at his mention of the Jedi. "Please tread carefully among the Jedi. Not all of them are good people, but many are, even if the Council has its moments of... well... blindness."
Volken Mons "Usually I'm the sort folk are encouraged to tread lightly around. You don't really know what I am, do you? You probably wouldn't be talking so easily with me...which is ....I guess a good thing."

Volken rubs his jaw and then finally grins, "My people have an age old feud with The Jedit that's....cooled abit I suppose but I konw what they're all about. Still, it's not normal that I encounter folk who don't think they're the most upstanding folk around. I take it your order and theirs has a clash of ideals going on...?"
