Medical skills include detailed knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medicine, and treatment techniques. There are many different medical fields and specializations within this broad industry, especially with the myriad of different species that exist within the galactic community.
Specializations
Cybernetics
Medical experts who specialize in cybernetics are skilled at installing, removing, and repairing implanted mechanical body parts.
Genetics
Genetics is the study of the basic code of all life. Experts in this field often have expertise in predicting genetic diseases and conditions in offspring or sythnetically grown beings, or in some cases creating genetically engineered individuals with desired traits.
Pharmacology
Pharmacology is the study of drugs for the purose of medical treatment. Those who are in need of a recommendation for just the right dosage regimen for rare diseases would seek advice from a pharmacologist.
Surgery
Surgery is the highly valued skill of repairing the internal parts of organic beings. Steady hands, proper sterile technique and the right tools are almost always a must.
Benchmarks
- 1 - 10: Basic first aid. Almost anyone can do this. While it doesn't actually heal any HP, may be useful in some situations. E.g.: removing a foreign object from a wound without causing further damage.
