| Cast of Characters: | 159, Cayde Alexis, Zetha Rumir, 418, Volken Mons, Navi, Ellari Zin, Pike Windu |
- Athena (159) has posed:
It's been twenty four hours Cayde had followed Zetha home, and taken the cortosis off of both Wiis and Zetha's hands. Little has happened since then - the young Padawan probably would have tried his best to make it publicly known that he is the one carrying the cortosis now (although he may not have been very successful at that, he's mute after all and terrible at telling people anything regarding himself), or he may have gone back to the junkyard, in an attempt to persuade Wiis to show him that communications devices she'd used to reach out to varying vendors.
Both the Mandalorians and Cayde's co deputy, Navi, and the colony's leadership, by now, are likely aware of the circumstances. The young Sephi girl, bound by duty, may be playing babysitting duty, in hopes that this first predicament to have unfolded since they've become co deputies, won't end in disaster. Cayde had a penchant for such, unfortunately. The Mandalorians, not bound by any such duty, may have decided to make it not their business - or, perhaps, they have. Jorn, at the very least, has a vested interest in ... assisting his instructor.
Zetha will have found herself excommunicated by Wiis... for the time being. The old Zabrak woman does not want to see her. Now, she may have holed up in some unseen part of the junkyard, with hopes that Wiis will cool off at some point. Or, maybe she's in town, looking for a bench to sleep on, temporarily (or permanently) homeless.
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde is most certainly looking for Wiis, so that he can hopefully convince her to cooperate with helping him identify who had been threatening her about the cortosis without having to completely take over her mind. So he is wandering around the junkyard searching for her presence, since Zetha probably doesn't know where the elderly Zabrak is, exactly.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Luckily, or perhaps not so much, Zetha had already packed some of her things when the first verbal blowup happened. So when Wiis had kicked her out, in front of Cayde, Zetha had been able to give the cortosis to the Jedi Padawan who soon left. Zetha had planned on sleeping outside Wiis' room, but it's very likely the zabrak woman noticed and reiterated for Zetha to leave. So that's what she did.
It was a silent departure. Zetha didn't tell anyone, Cayde would know because he was there so that was it. The Twi'lek woman wound up back at the outer courtyard of the Convent she had been at the evening before. She likely slept on the ground overnight and - after getting a biscuit from Hap's - is going for round two of finishing it before the sprinklers go off again.
- Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn moes with Cayde for a moment. "What do you need?" he asks and looks about for a moment. His own gaze going over the junkyard. Even pulling out one of the blaster pistols because usually things on Mandalore go pear shaped pretty quick. Jorn just sees himself as prepared is all.
- Volken Mons has posed:
Volken isn't exactly subtle as he makes his approach towards the jukyard. For one, he's over eight feet tall. For two he's nearly seven hundred pounds of muscle. For three he's wearing beskar armor. For four his he's nearly seven hundred pounds of muscle.
So yeah, he stands out.
The past few weeks have been somewhat dull and boring for him as well and a bored Volken means trouble.
Recent events have likely gone over his head. He's, needless to say, out of the loop... But upon seeing Jorn and Cayde, his interest is piqued and so he begins making his approach towards them -- wordlessly drawning nearer to the junk yard with a heavy tromp to his steps that likely announces his approach well before he actually arrives.
- Navi has posed:
Navi had gone to find Cayde. But she hadn't gotten far when she'd spotted Zetha and followed her back to the Temple. Only a troubling sense that the Twi'lek girl wanted to be left alone had kept her from approaching her immediately.
Early morning finds the Sephi doing her morning exercises in her undershirt and utility pants mere yards from where Zetha is trying to finish her meager breakfast, having left her field jacket draped over Zetha's sleeping form to keep the worst of the chill off of her. Thanks to the Force, the same chill was of no concern to the Sephi.
Noticing that Zetha is awake, she strolls over to greet her, smiling faintly. "Good morning, Sleepy Lekku," she says warmly. "Hope you were able to sleep okay out in the open."
- Athena (159) has posed:
The old Zabrak woman isn't really anywhere in sight, but Cayde will be able to sense her melancholy presence inside the little hut she calls home. All the lights are out, except for the bedroom light - a dim glow that just barely shows through the opaque window curtain. She won't hear Cayde or Jorn, approaching, probably, but Volken she can hear from across the junkyard. "Who's -- who's there?" she asks. "What do you want?"
Just as luck would have it, it starts to rain. Well, at least the sprinklers didn't get to her? Within seconds, Zetha and Navi will probably be soaking wet, if they don't find shelter quick. But just as they might both go looking for it, the doors of the convent swing open. The young Tholothian man before regards them impassively, his brow creased very slightly. "You still haven't gone home yet?" he asks Zetha. Then he holds the door open wider, and motions for both her and Navi to come inside.
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
When Jorn asks what is needed, Cayde was about to sign something when Volken approaches. The man's physical presence is definitely hard to ignore, that's for certain. He looks up at the towering man, then glances toward the dimly lit hut as Wiis calls out. [Help me help her] he signs, pointing in the direction of the hut.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
When Navi approaches, Zetha gives a smile that doesn't quite reach her eyes. Trying to remain strong, she takes the jacket she had found draped over her at some point overnight and offers it back. "I assume this belongs to you..." This is offered in a quiet voice and just before the rain begins to fall. Zetha quickly holds her biscuit close to her chest and just before she can say anything else she notices the doors to the convent swing open.
She stands and begins to walk towards the door at Crane's beckoning. "I went home." She says simply and then walks inside, backpack slung over her shoulders which are slumped. "...and at some point I got kicked out..." She offers finally while turning back to face Crane and likely Navi if the Sethi woman followed her inside.
- Navi has posed:
Navi accepts her jacket back with that same faint smile. "Good guess. Given the daytime temperatures, it's hard to believe how cold it gets at night. The Force makes a pretty good overcoat, but I can't pass that benefit on to another person for the most part. You needed it more than I did," she confirms, just as gently as before.
And she's barely thrown the jacket around her shoulders when it starts to rain. Rolling her eyes at Tenoo's usual 'perfect' timing, she isn't about to /not/ follow Zetha inside.
Once the doors are closed behind them, she quietly hugs Zetha. "I'm so sorry... what happened?" she asks softly.
- Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn makes out the word help. The sign language he knows a -little- more. The mandalorian looks toward Volken, "This is Cayde. He wants help," Jorn says low then points toward the direction of the hut. "Shall we?" he asks the big guy.
- Volken Mons has posed:
"Help her what?" responds VOlken once he's in speaking range and doesn't need to shout. His words are somewhat drawled out, indicating that he's probably slightly drunk which means he's beend rinking just who knows how much considering how much is needed to get him drunk.
He turns his head towards Jorn at that, looking for further explanation especially upon seeing JOrn's hand on his weapon.
"Eh? I know who this is. Didn't I tell you? Eh--nevermind.."
He waves it all off before looking back to Cayde and then towards the direction of Wil, waiting for more of an explanation on just what is happening.
- Athena (159) has posed:
"Hello?!" Wiis says again, this time a bit more urgently. "Who's there?" she says, her tone becoming sharp when she receives no answer.
Crane bows politely, giving no response to the news. He leaves momentarily and returns, with a tray full for flowers, tea, and more biscuits. He sets it on a table nearby to where Navi and Zetha are standing.
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
[She is in trouble... I can help...we can help] Cayde offers, nodding toward the hut was Wiis demands to know who is there. He approaches the door to the hut, and knocks politely. Maybe, Volken or Jorn can answer her?
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha shakes her head, pulling her biscuit back from her chest and takes a small bite. She then takes the time to explain what happened. How she went home, found out Wiis still tried to sell the cortosis. How they got into a huge verbal argument and Zetha admitted to taking the cortosis, talking to the Jedi, and how Wiis got absolutely livid at her. How she's a liar and a backstabber for what she's done. "Cayde came in at one point..." Zetha speaks. "...I gave the cortosis to him. After he witnessed Wiis kicking me out. Telling me she never...ever wants to see me again..." Tears begin to well in her eyes once more and she finally shifts to fall into a seat at the table where those treats had been offered.
"I figure she's right. I did betray her. I did lie to her. I...I was just trying to do the right thing..." The last words come out in a whisper just before Zetha takes another bite over what might be a soggy-ish biscuit.
- Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn just goes up to the Hutt, just just right up to it. Because it's really hard to be stealthy with Volken around anyway. Then he just pounds on the door. If this was on the core worlds, they make think of him as security. With blaster at the ready the Mandalorian just waits for the door to be open. He figured bring whoever is there to Cayde. OR help whoever Cayde wishes to help. Again, the mandalorian didn't understand all of the message.
- Volken Mons has posed:
The titanic Mandalorian reaches a hand up and removes his helmet, letting his messy hair and short unkempt beard out into the open along with his slightly unfocused eyes. It's just in time as he lets out a belch from his excessive drinking. That probably wouldn't have been pleasent for him to do with his helmet still on.
But despite it all he seems to have a strange wit aqnd sharpness about him as he takes closer note of Cayde's signing and then Jorn's movements. Not to mention the shouting of..whover this 'Wils' is.
He rolls his eyes, looking somewhat exasperated and then, finally, turns his attention fully towards the entrance that is being poudned on.
"Yeah, yeah, we're here to help o something. Come out. There's a Sorcer..I mean a Jedi here that wants to talk to you."
- Navi has posed:
Navi lets Zetha withdraw from her hug, though she does sit down next to her, in relatively easy reach if she is needed or wanted. "Thank you again. Sorry for taking so much advantage of your hospitality," she says to 'Crane', bowing from her shoulders.
"Force help you, Zetha," she says sympathetically. "You /were/ doing the right thing, for what it's worth from a former Padawan. It's not always easy to do the right thing, but this time it could and should have been much easier. I want to say that we can fix this. More than anything. But I don't want to make promises I can't keep."
"That said, I /do/ want to help, however I can."
- Athena (159) has posed:
There's a yelp from inside, followed by a distinct crash. "...Jedi? No. No! No go away. It's too late! I don't want to talk to the deputy, I've already told the buyer to come here instead of Vuundalla. He's coming, and he's going to pry the cortosis from your baby soft hands if he has to! And once he has, he's going to pay me."
The Tholothian shakes his head at Navi, indicating that it's not a problem at all, wordlessly.
"Time heals all wounds," Crane says to Zetha softly. "The Force will bless you for doing the right thing."
At that moment, the doors of the convent swing open, admitting Thaarin, who's probably accompanied by a not so unfamiliar female Mandalorian. He looks around, searching for Navi, and when his gaze lands upon her, he moves to approach her. "Navi," He says, "have you seen Cayde--" And then he sees Zetha. "Zetha?" he says, eyes widening. "Are you alright? What happened? Why aren't you at the junkyard?"
- Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari arrives with Thaarin, and helmet is also off now, revealing sharp grey eyes and deep brown hair tied back a bit loosely behind her head. "You worry about that boy a lot, don't you?" she remarks to the blue-skinned man.
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde sighs when Jorn pounds on the door and Volken reveals that a Jedi is here. And especially when Wiis suggests that he resembles a baby. Looks like he's going to have enter her mind, after all.
<Let me help you...who did you sell to> he asks, projecting as gently as possible.
- Jorn (418) has posed:
Be it bad luck, bad timing, bad reflexes, lost footing or something else at play, Jorn goes to kick the door then misses it completely hitting the wall to the left of the door. "Kriffing..." he mutters, his pride more wounded than anything else at the moment. He just sighs and slowly moves the foot back like nothing had happened. Behind the helmet he closes his eyes thinking simply. - "Did I just miss the door like a drunk nerf hrder?" -
- Volken Mons has posed:
Well it's not like it would have been a secret once the door was opened and eyes were laid on Cayde.
But either way, Volken grunts a bit and looks soured and then mildly irritated and then finally just shakes his head.
"What're they going on about? What's happening?"
He's clearly out of the loop here and with his patience already frayed between everything that's happened and him being slightly drunk... well.. Not ani deal combo for him.
He looks pointedly at Jorn now as Cayde falls silent, focusing on his telepathy.
When Jorn makes the attempt on the door and it fails.. Volken finally just grunts and reaches forward and over the other Mandalorian, places his fingers against the door - tenses them, and then roughly shoves.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha glances to Navi after a moment and shakes her head. "Was I? I don't know anymore. I didn't think it would lead me to being homeless again..." She says, her voice still soft and she takes a finishing bite of her biscuit. The one she bought from Hap's. "You could fix it...as far as helping Wiis...but I..." She stops as the doors open and her attention pulls to them. Especially once she hears Thaarin's voice before she realizes he's in the room.
His questions come quick and she shakes her head. She can't say it all. Not again. It's killing her on the inside, Wiis' words are still spinning in her head. Thinking about it only brings more pain to her soul and her heart continues to break. She sinks into her chair, trying to make herself smaller as tears begin to freely fall down her cheeks again and she goes completely silent.
- Navi has posed:
"Cayde's at the junkyard, last I knew. Give me a sec and I'll see if I can raise him on the comlink," Navi replies to Thaarin. "I've been here most of the night. Things have gotten complicated." She rolls her eyes, as if to say, 'As usual'.
She nods to 'Crane', then rests a hand gently on Zetha's shoulder in a gesture of support. "You did what you felt was right," she says softly. "Maybe mistakes got made, but that doesn't mean the bridge is burnt yet. We'll see what we can do."
She reaches for her comlink. "Cayde? Are you still at the junkyard? Send me a message if you are. Zetha is with me at the convent and safe, just in case it comes up."
- Athena (159) has posed:
There's a scream, and then a crash, as Volken breaks the door down. Looks like there had been some things behind the door, that he'd also knocked over in the process of breaking and entering. Oops (or maybe not).
"How dare you!" the old Zabrak woman screams from the kitchen, holding up a frying pan. Abruptly, she rushes forward and swings mightily at both Jorn and Volken, who happen to be in front of Cayde.
Thaarin just nods at Zetha. "I'll go talk to her," he says, and then turns to leave. He smiles faintly but warmly at Ellari. "I do," he says, "some of the colonists here, well, they're my family away from family. I must do right by them." He offers her his hand. "I'll see you at the junkyard later?" he says, but not to Zetha. He'd been looking at Navi. Then, he turns on his heel and heads right out of the convent.
Zetha might notice he'd... barely paid any attention to either of them. It's not really like him, and the female Mandalorian he's with, she's distracting him, isn't she? Navi might even notice that Thaarin had been very AWOL the past couple of days. He'd barely checked in, and that isn't like him.
- Jorn (418) has posed:
Jon's struck with a pan with a "THUD!" that reverberates through his helmet. Wihle the hem absorbs some of the blow, teh sound makes it defeaning and disorienting. It hurts in unintended ways. He jostles and leans against a wall. "WHAT DID YOU KRIFFIN' DO THAT FOR YOU WALKING FOSSIL?!"
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde doesn't even bother trying to protect the Mandalorians from the frying pan. It can't be tougher than beskar, after all. Instead, he just tries to reach into Wiis' mind again and calm her. <Please...let me help you> he begs. <Tell me about the buyers>
...And then Jorn goes and calls her a walking fossil. They aren't much help, are they? Maybe he should just put her sleep and try his luck with that.
- Ellari Zin has posed:
"So you think of him like a younger brother, then?" Ellari asks him. She also doesn't seem to have much interest in Zetha's plight, although she nods briefly in greeting toward both of the other women. "I'm sure everything work out in the end. We all have our...moments. But you know what they say. If it doesn't kill you, it is sure to make you stronger." is all she has to offer, with a polite smile.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
"No. Wait!" Zetha tries to croak out but it's likely after Thaarin has left the convent again. She shakes her head and looks at Navi and then to Crane. She has no more words left to say. Instead, she just gives up. Absolutely defeated. The desire to simply grab her backpack and run is also very strong, and she looks towards the doors of the convent - perhaps judging just how quickly she could just grab her stuff, head out the door and go hide where no one can find her. Maybe smash her commlink so no one could even contact her. Disappear. She could be really good at doing that.
- Volken Mons has posed:
*BONK*
When the pan hits Volken, likely slamming against one of those huge arms, it probably simply folds or even breaks all together.
Volken barely blinks.
"Hey!" he rumbles, "Calm down."
His eyes widen slightly as he speaks, a deep frown etched on his features as he glowers at the woman.
"We're here to 'help'."
His deep voice is a low rumble. A heavy menace that has no desire for this foolishness to continue.
"Quiet."
- Navi has posed:
Navi opens her mouth to speak, but Thaarin is already leaving. "It occurs to me, now that I have time to think about it, that Thaarin has been out of touch for a couple days now," she muses. "I think he may be getting attached to that Mandalorian lady he met a few days ago. It's none of my business, at least romantically. It's not like we're dating or anything, but..."
She cuts herself off as she looks at Zetha. The poor Twi'lek's defeated thoughts, and traces of the accompanying emotions, hit her like a driving rain, and she instinctively hugs Zetha tightly. "Don't..." she whispers. "Don't give up. And don't run away..."
- Athena (159) has posed:
"You didn't even let me answer the door! I'm tired of people messing up my things!" she screeches at Jorn. Jorn will find that wall he's leaning isn't at all well reinforced. It crumbles when he does, revealing an inner cavity full of dust, womp rat droppings and only light knows what else. When Wiis hits Volken, the frying pan bends a little. The rim, which is rusted, clinks and clatters to the floor. Wiis grumbles angrily, "D'oh!!" Then she squints at Volken and Jorn, and then suddenly looks confused. "Oh. Um. I'm sorry. I thought --" then she looks over at Cayde, "Hey, wait a minute! Isn't..." she trails off.
Just as Thaarin and Ellari arrive at the junkyard, the Mandalorians will hear a familiar sound. Jetpack thrusters. Either the bounty hunters have either come already, or....
Well, it was only a matter of time, anyway. Two MORE Mandalorians arrive on the scene, and they're familiars. Kasseady, that wretch, and Er'gi. Surprisingly, Kasseady doesn't even seem to care or notice that Volken is here (and doesn't know Jorn is, he's fallen into a nook). His gaze immediately goes to Ellari. "Lady Zin!!" he cries. "What.. what a welcome surprise! I had no idea you were out and about on the Outer Rim! How I've ... missed you..."
But then he sees Cayde. "Behold! A Jedi! -The- Jedi." When he lands, he stumbles. He also stinks of liquor. "Fear not," he says to Wiis, who's standing there, utterly confused. "I will purge your planet of the evil Jedi. I shall be your hero today, and Lady Zin shall witness my works." He doesn't even draw his sword. Instead, he just full on plows towards Cayde, in an attempt to body slam the young padawan.
Er'gi is speechless. "Volken?" he whispers. "Kriff. We cannot let him tell anyone..."
Crane also gets to his feet, barring the doorway. "She's right," he says to the young Twi'lek girl. "I said you could come here anytime, and I meant that. You may stay here for as long as you wish." A pause. "Perhaps even permanently. The Disciples could be convinced to rent you a room."
- Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn falls through the wall and then he looks around, upward. Everything's kind of a strange blur. This is not what he signed up for. When did helping someoen turn into a confusing mess.
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde did not see that coming, as he was focused on trying to calm Wiis down, which isn't working very well given Jorn and Volken's actions. But just when she seems to start calming down, someone just...plows into him. Fortunately, it mostly missed and only causes him to stumble backward slightly and barely manage to keep his footing. However, it also startles him enough that his lightsaber flies into a defensive swing at the newcomer.
- Ellari Zin has posed:
Upon seeing Kasseady greet her so -warmly-, Ellari simply marches up to him and clocks him in side of the helmet with an armored fist as hard as she can. "Di'kut." she mutters, which is followed by other cursing under her breath at him in Mando'a.
- Volken Mons has posed:
He's missed -far- too much. He's also slighlty drunk still.
"Hruh? What is GOING ON?" Volken demands, utterly confused and with nobody trying to bring him up to speed on what's happening aside from a 'Help me help her' which really literally told him absolutely nothing.
The arrival of familiar Mandalorians, one a friend of his no less, makes matters that much worse.
"Seombody better explain to me what's happening here or I'm knocking -everybody out-!"
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
"I..." Zetha tries, and then she's being hugged. Again. Navi is a hugger and Zetha is getting used to it. Never the less, with the hug, and the words from both Navi and Crane break Zetha completely. "I can't...I don't have a job. I have...maybe...twenty credits to my name. Losing my home with Wiis also meant losing my job...losing...everything..." She can't fulfill her promise to Thaarin, she can't help Wiis, she can barely help herself. The emotional rollercoaster of the last twenty-four hours is catching up again and Zetha relies on being in Navi's arms to sort of fully collapse and goes into a crying fit all over again. Broken Zetha is broken.
- Navi has posed:
Navi holds Zetha quietly, gently petting her lekku, as if lekku were long hair, trying to comfort the emotionally overwrought Twi'lek.
"We'll work something out," she whispers. "I promise. You can even move to the colony if you need to."
Beat. "I can't believe I just said that... who'd want to move /there/?" She sighs. "Doesn't matter. My hab shelter has room for another bunk, or maybe a sleeping bag. You're welcome to move in with me if you need a place to stay. Even if it /is/ at the colony..."
- Athena (159) has posed:
Ellari's blow glances off of Kasseady's helmet, but it stills knocks him back. He grunts. "What a ... kind greeting!" he drawls. He flails pathetically, and barely manages to actually run into the young padawan. Then Cayde's lightsaber slams into his beskar breastplate. The blow knocks him flat off his feet. He groans. "....Lady.. Lady Zin, did you see? I've.. I defeated the Jedi? I'll forge you a cortosis weave gauntlet. You'll ... you'll be... undefeat... able."
"Look, I heard the news. It got out about what the other Baron did. Everyone's in an uproar, they care less about where the Dark Saber is, and more that the one who admitted to stealing it, is missing! After the wedding, he vanished. No one knows where he went. At some point, it was revealed that Kasseady had a hand in helping his twin brother. But because Caine is nowhere to be found, he's been left alone to defend -both- their actions. He's been trying to conduct business offworld as an armorer as much as possible to avoid the public backlash, but... well." Er'gi shrugs. "You can see how well that's been going for him. Any leads on the other Baron's whereabouts would be welcome."
Jorn may find that the room he's stumbled into is actually... well, a very decent hiding spot. He might want to hole up here, until the other Mandos... go away. But Wiis hasn't forgotten about him. She looms into the nook. "You're gonna pay for this," she says, waving the broken frying pan at him. "And you're going to explain to me what the HELL is going on?"
Crane shakes his head. "There's no need to worry about the cost of anything," he says, "we will work it out. You can go to the colony if you wish, but know you're welcome here, too. I promise, it will be affordable. As for Wiis... you need a mediator." He looks to Navi. "You're co-deputy now, aren't you?"
- Volken Mons has posed:
"But what're you doing -here-?" demands Volken, suspicion laced in this tone, "DId you come lookin' for me? For us?"
Volken steps to the side, using his bulk to block the view of the little nook Jorn fell into and where Wis is busy being Wis.
"I don't understand. No, I don't now where Caine is. I did haer about this from Thaelin before we arrived here. Fine. Good. Let them worry about and sort things out back on Mandalore but did you track Caine -here-? To this planet? Of all the places?"
Volken's eyes finally drift towards Cayde and then towrads Ellari and Kassady.
"This is nonsense...."
- Navi has posed:
"I am," Navi replies to 'Crane'. "Cayde is already there, but... well..." She sighs quietly. "There's just no polite or nice way to say it. He's disaster prone, especially when it comes to interpersonal skills. He's going to need help."
She looks back to Zetha. "Will you be okay to go to back to the junkyard? Or would you rather stay here for now?"
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde stands there, for a moment, to see if Kass is going to attack him again but when it seems that isn't happening he turns away and goes to find Wiis again, tapping her on the back of the shoulder to try to get her attention. <Let me help you> he again projects to her. <Tell me the buyers>
And then something else occurs to him. <And forgive Zetha...she means well> After all, the Twi'lek is like a daughter to her, isn't she? Surely this wasn't worth tearing their relationship apart.
- Ellari Zin has posed:
"Mhmm," Ellari watches as Kasseady is knocked onto his behind, quite literally. "Actually, I think you have that backwards, Kasseady. The Jedi defeated -you-." She seems quite satisfied upon hearing what Er'gi has to say about what has happened back on Mandalore, then scoffs at the idea of Kass trying to be an armorer. She turns to Er'gi. "Did he help him? Well, in either case, I think they both quite deserve what they're getting."
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha shakes her head at Navi's question. "No. I can't show up there. Wiis wants me to stay gone. So until...if...this gets better..." Is all she manages before she just curls back up into her chair and goes silent again.
- Athena (159) has posed:
'Crane' watches Zetha for a moment, then finally says, "Would you like a room? It will be more comfortable that sitting out here."
Wiis still loom into the niche where Jorn is hiding. She glances briefly at the other Mandalorians in the yard, who are arguing, and shakes the frying pan at him again. "Well, don't just -stand there-! Say something. Answer my question! What's going on? Do you -know- those people? They were supposed to be the buyers!"
Meanwhile, Pike may have finished assisting the Arkanians with packaging up all of their samples for transport when he'll find himself suddenly approached the private investigator, Arsok Vons. "Master Windu," he says with a nod. "There was something I needed to talk to you about..." He seems in a rush, he's walking quickly and motioning for the elder Jedi to follow him.
- Pike Windu has posed:
Windu slips into his great coat as he falls in beside Vons. "At your service."
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha, finally perhaps, leans back from Navi's grasp and looks to 'Crane'. There's a small nod given before she manages to find her voice. "I would like that, yes. I'm willing to help around the convent any way that is needed. I'm really good with tinkering electronics and such so if there's anything here that might need maintenance or upkeep. I'm your Twi'lek..."
- Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn isn't hiding as much as he lingers. finding the wall is so flimsy. Also, the first instincts are not the greatest one in this situation. So, he lingers to give himself restraint in the moment.
- Athena (159) has posed:
"Hey!" someone from down the street yells at Vons, "Aren't you supposed to be helping me wash the Longbeam?!" Vons glances backwards and scowls. "Later," he shouts back to the individual, then quickens his pace. "Listen, those Arkanians are up to something and I'm not sure what. You met that guy, right? Jasper? He's Mandalorian, but my gut tells me he doesn't want the others rumored to be in town to know he's here. Did you ... see anything when you were loading the samples up?"
Stepping into the nook herself Wiis, attempts to bonk Jorn on the head again. "What's the matter with you? One minute you're calling me a walking fossil, the next you're -deaf-!?"
'Crane' offers Zetha a hint of a brief smile, gesturing for her to follow him down an adjoining corridor. "You might already be aware, but this convent isn't visited very often. Droids maintain it while we're away, but they too, have their limitations."
- Pike Windu has posed:
Windu nods. "I agree. All very shady. There was a box, unopened."
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Shifting to stand, Zetha smiles at Navi and then moves to begin following 'Crane' as he leads her. "Seems to be getting a bit of attention. What with that Mandalorian and Mister Cayde...but if that's the most attention the convent has seen in a bit, I think that would make being here a bit...peaceful?" She offers and then adds, "And yeah, droids have their limitations, but I can actually repair droids as well. I mean most my life's been in the junkyard so sometimes I have to get creative..."
- Jorn (418) has posed:
"I am with an interested party," Jorn will need further instruction. Although, if they attempt to hit him again, he'll try to disarm the person. His attention is focused on them and he'll try to push past regardless of what happens. This is where he'll need Cayde to somehow convey what -exactly- he needed help with. This isn't a situation he could just start shooting, despite a strong desire to do so.
- Athena (159) has posed:
Vons suddenly tugs Pike aside, if the elderly Jedi will let him. "You opened it, right?" the private investigator asks, with a nod. Whoever had been yelling at him earlier shouts, "When?!" The Zeltron man frowns, but doesn't give a reply. "Are.. they still at the mail reception room?" The last thing Pike will have known is that Vaneya, Terrin, and the mysterious Jasper had run off to take care of some... important business, and did not plan to be back for a few hours.
"Indeed," the Tholothian man says, leveling his electric indigo gaze at her for a moment. "But it is always peaceful here, for the Force is always present here." He gestures to to an archway with a maroon colored curtain hanging from it.
Jorn likely won't have much trouble pushing past Wiis. She's old, and diminutive. "Wait a minute!" she yelps, "so you -do- know them? Why didn't you just say so? Kriff, who's side are you on, the Jedi, or the buyers?!"
- Pike Windu has posed:
Windu speaks Zeltron in a low voice. "I did not open it. But it should still be where I left it."
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
"The Force might need to pull up it's bootstraps for the next few days." Zetha comments and then takes a breath that's likely meant to be steadying in nature. As 'Crane' motions to an archway with that maroon curtain, she takes a timid step forward before pulling the curtain back to see what Wizard lies behind it.
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde is still in the hut with Wiis and Jorn. But thus far, his attempts to communicate with the elderly Zabrak woman seem to have gone completely ignored. Well, it was just typical, wasn't it? He sighs as her focus is fully on Jorn currently, contemplating what to do. Should he push harder? But what if...what if it went wrong? Like before?
- Navi has posed:
Navi rises and follows Zetha and 'Crane' silently. "Good move. I'm betting this place is a lot nicer than the colony, and Kublop Springs is a much nicer town to boot," she observes softly, looking past Zetha as the Twi'lek pulls back the curtain.
- Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn looks at Cayde for guidance. "You said help. I was going to help, but I need specifics." Because he can't just shoot around the entire room. His gaze flicks around the hut as he tries to drink in everything with a fresh set of eyes.
- Athena (159) has posed:
"What?!" Vons says, a little too loudly. Then a bit quieter he says, "We're opening it, but not yet. I've got to find out the truth about whether there's actually other Mandalorians around, or not." He pulls out his communicator and sends a text transmission to Navi, <Lady Graf was saying something about Rykard taking off, and Mandos showing up. Are they here? If so, where are they?>
'Crane' shrugs. "It will," he says, "The Force always provides." There's nothing striking about the room. A hammock, several shelves with lots and lots of plants. A fish bowl, a teapot, a small stack of books. The space looks lived in, and Zetha may suddenly feel like she's infringing on someone's private bedroom. Navi will probably recognize it - it doesn't look that much different from a room she'd seen before, the one she'd stayed in that time she'd gone after her Master's saber.
"Hello?!" The Zabrak woman says angrily. "Why won't you answer my questions!?"
It would appear they're running out of time, anyway. The Mandalorian who had been talking with Volken earlier storms inside the hut, through the broken down door. He points at Cayde. "You, boy," he says to Cayde. "Give us what we came for, we will pay the woman and be gone." He makes a beckoning motion. "Hand over the cortosis."
- Pike Windu has posed:
Windu is unperturbed by Von's excitement. The Jedi only nods and remains quiet.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha blinks as she peers into the room. The hammock looks nice enough but the room does give heavy 'someone lives here' vibes. "Uhm. Am I going to wind up being surprised by a sudden person coming in here and yelling at me about invading their space?" She's casually...ignoring...all the Force talk. Though she does glance to Navi who's caught up with them now and gives her friend a kind smile. "Never been to the colony but from what I hear about it, it doesn't sound like the nicest of places. Might still put the junkyard to shame though..." Then she frowns and sighs. "...I hope Wiis is okay..."
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde reaches into Jorn's mind this time. <Trouble from buyers...we must protect her from them> he projects to his Mandalorian student. Speaking of whom, one of them barges into the hut shortly after this and demands he hand over the cortosis now.
The young Jedi just fixes him with an unreadable expression for several seconds. [Please...wait] he eventually signs in reply.
- Navi has posed:
"Only because there's less junk. The political squabbles kind of ruin the atmosphere," Navi replies wryly to Zetha, lightly squeezing her shoulder. She smiles faintly and looks like she's about to say something more, but her comlink chimes softly.
Grimacing, she takes the device from her pocket. As her jacket is draped around her shoulders rather than being worn properly, she drags it from her shoulders and drapes it over her arm before removing the comlink. She scowls at the display, then toggles on a text-to-speech function. "Take anything Xera tells you with a measure of caution. Master Rykard has suffered a crisis of belief and has stepped down as Marshal, hopefully temporarily," she states. "As for Mandalorians, there are several of them on-world now that I know of... Volken Mons, Lady Ellari Zin, and Jorn... hm. I don't recall his clan name at the moment. Jorn left for the junkyard with Cayde, and I don't know where the others are at the moment. Possibly at the junkyard. I can't raise Cayde on the comlink, but that's normal."
She looks to Zetha, then 'Crane'. "This is /your/ room, isn't it?" she asks softly. "If so, your generosity would put a Jedi to shame."
- Jorn (418) has posed:
<Who are my targets?> It's not that he doesn't understand the term "buyers." He does. Just that doesn't narrow down the list of strangers. So, he'll pull out his blaster and just wait to see who is out there as a buyer. Now, he's curious about everything. Waiting for a few moments to see if he can find out proper targets.
- Athena (159) has posed:
"Oh... shit," Vons muses to himself more than to anyone else when he reads Navi's message. "Alright, let's go," he says to the elderly Master Jedi. "We better talk to the other Mandalorians to see if they know anything. Besides, it's about time I caught up with Cayde, anyway," he grumbles.
'Crane' averts his gaze momentarily and shifts a bit uncomfortably. "I won't surprise you," he says, glancing over at Navi with a nod. "The convent has an attic, I'll relocate there, for now."
He pauses, and looks to Navi. "Maybe you should check on Wiis for Zetha?"
"Wait?" Er'gi does not seem to like this answer very much. "And how long will we be waiting, hm? We can't stay here for weeks. We meant to take the cortosis and leave immediately for Mandalore once we have it." He strays dangerously close to where Jorn is hide-lurking, still unaware that he's even in the hut.
- Pike Windu has posed:
Windu nods. "I will assist you how ever I can. Should we secure the box first?"
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
There's a look of surprise on Zetha's face then and she shakes her head. "I can't take your room..." She protests gently. "I could live in the attic. Just toss me a hammock and a box with a light source and I'll be fine. I mean... I lived in a run down ship turned into housing...I can survive an attic. I...this is far too generous. It's appreciated but...please. I should probably stay more out of sight anyway." Just in case. When 'Crane' then suggests Navi go check on Wiis, the Twi'lek blushes. "Would help to check on Cayde too I bet. Make sure he's not in over his head...or something...knowing Wiis. She's probably threatening them with a fork or something...while Twozee tries to serve them blue milk."
- Navi has posed:
"I knew you wouldn't surprise her," Navi replies softly to 'Crane'. "We don't deserve you. Really."
The suggestion to check on Cayde is met with a glance, and then a quiet nod. "Knowing Cayde and Wiis, things have somehow already gone kita-fruit-shaped. I'll be back soon, hopefully." She hurries for the outer door, shrugging back into her jacket and hoping the rain has stopped.
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Targets? Well, maybe that's not the right word but it seems that's Jorn's language at the moment. For right now, Jorn would be shown Er'gi, the one who just barged into the hut. And it seems, Jorn is familiar with this person himself. Maybe that made it easier? Or maybe not. <But there may be others> Cayde adds.
When asked how long, Cayde just shrugs. It's the honest answer, he doesn't know. He'd have to ask his master, and then his master might have to ask the Council. It was no light matter, after all. [I must ask Master] he adds.
- Athena (159) has posed:
Vons lingers. "Oh. If they're not there right now..." he pivots on his heel. "I don't see why not."
"And I've slept soundly on the streets of Nar Shadaa for many years. An attic is reasonable accommodation, this room is a luxury and you are a guest." He bows politely, then walks over to the window and closes the shades. "I doubt Wiis or anyone else who might come looking for you will find you here. Please." He looks to Navi. "Good luck," He says. He knows she'll need it.
The rain hasn't stopped unfortunately. However, Navi will notice that vehicle rental place Cayde had 'borrowed' a cruiser from before across the street. The owner is out front, looking rather sour.
"And where is your Master," Er'gi says impatiently. "Let us go find him and ask him now."
- Pike Windu has posed:
Windu leads Von to where he left the unopened box. "Do you want to take it?"
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha opens her mouth as if to protest more, but then she closes it. Then she bows her head at 'Crane'. "I promise to keep your fish alive..." Is what she says, watching as the man pulls the shades down in the room. "And I'll keep it clean. I...I might read some of your books if that's alright. I mean, really, you'll never know I was here in the end. And as soon as I find something else..." Because she won't take his generosity forgranted. She might even just sleep on the floor or something instead of the hammock. "Anyway. I very much appreciate this. I don't know how I'll ever repay you for the kindness you're showing me."
- Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn just keeps things at the ready. Cayde did ask for help from a Mandalorian. He's going to help his wound be attacker now. And so, the man will patiently wait. Just keeping his focus forward. Although, questions about that message Revara sent does enter his head. Things are too still and his mind wanders a little bit more.
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde nods. [Yes...I must find him] he answers vaguely. But then, he doesn't move. Instead, he focuses his attention on Wiis again.
<Tell me the other buyers> he again asks of her, pushing a bit harder this time. Hopefully not too hard though...
- Navi has posed:
"The things I go through to protect your butt, Cayde..." Navi grumbles, zipping her jacket against the rain and its accompanying chill, then drawing up its rain hood. Spying the rental agent, she jogs over, reaching for her credit case and badge.
"I need a speeder bike or scooter, pretty much right now," she says. "How much for a rental?"
- Athena (159) has posed:
Once they arrive at the mail reception room, Vons throws up his hands. "I mean, you're the one who can move stuff with your mind," he says, "and I need my hands free. Let's get the box, and go. Who knows if they're coming back anytime soon."
'Crane' chuckles softly. "No need to worry about the fish," he says, "I'll take care of her." He moves over to the tank and picking up a can next to the bowl, sprinkles a few flakes in. He shrugs. "You may use or take whatever is necessary." A pause. "Except my clothes. I'd prefer if you didn't wear my underwear." Another shrug. "It's unnecessary. You'll repay us with good deeds later, I'm sure."
"Then let's go," Er'gi says, and immediately heads out of the hut. "Look!" Wiis grumbles, looking annoyed. "I'll tell you whatever you want, but I want answers! Why did five Mandalorians just show up on my doorstep, instead of the expected two?? And now one of them's hiding in my hidden storage!" She points emphatically at the nook where Jorn is lurking.
"Ten credits per hour," he says, "but ONLY if you return it in MINT condition. Do you hear me? MINT!"
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
<I don't know> Cayde answers, because he honestly doesn't. But maybe Jorn does? He glances over toward the man inquisitively. <I want to help you> he keeps insisting. <Let me help...tell me the buyers> But he doesn't follow Er'gi.
- Pike Windu has posed:
Windu finds the box where he left it. He picks it up and disappears it under his great coat. "No need for such drastic measures."
- Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn will leave the storage area, it's why he moved passed her. He'll wait outside just waiting for the buyers to arrive.
- Navi has posed:
"I see. How much if it gets a couple scratches?" Navi asks, scowling faintly and arcing an eyebrow. "Or maybe you have something armored, or at least tougher?"
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha actually manages a chuckle. "I hope you meant that as a joke. I surely will not put on any of your clothes. Especially your underwear..." Her smile finally reaches her eyes for the first time in the last day or so as well. As if some sort of tension finally falls from her. When he speaks of repaying with good deeds in the future, she nods her head. "Sounds fair." Adjusting her backpack on her shoulder a moment, she then wonders. "Uhm. I suppose in a place like this there's...schedules to maintain? Rules to follow? How does all that work?"
- Athena (159) has posed:
Wiis runs out into the yard after Jorn. She'll then try to grab him and shake him. "Answer my questions, dammit!!"
Wiis grumbles. "I don't remember all of them. Some of them were cartels, others were large scale enterprises with questionable motives," she finally tells Cayde. "Why, are you going to try to contact them and tell them off?" she scoffs. "You're more childish than I thought!"
Er'gi has disappeared, presumably to go look for Rykard. He's left his companion, Kass, though, behind. Jorn will espy the Baron Von'egel passed out on the ground, looking worse for wear.
Thaarin, the blue skinned alien, approaches now, frowning slightly. "I don't suppose you have any control over what either of them do, do you?" he asks Jorn.
"Drastic? It's just cool," Vons comments, "like if you could summon food from the ice box from your bed, why wouldn't you?" He starts making his way towards the junkyard, but he'll likely run into Navi on the way over. The vehicle rental owner doesn't look happy to see Vons. "You back to stay?"
"No," he replies.
The man grumbles, then says to Navi. "Fine! 35 an hour if you scratch it. Now take what you want an' get out of here! Some deputies you two are...heh..."
The Tholothian man arches a brow. He was clearly... not joking, but he doesn't comment about it. "No need to worry about that for now," he says, "we'll tell you, sooner rather than later. I'm sure you're hungry." He heads out of the room, expecting Zetha to follow.
- Pike Windu has posed:
The elderly Jedi follows along while keeping a lookout for the Arkanians and Jasper.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
When 'Crane' doesn't laugh or make a comment, Zetha frowns a little. "Sorry. I figured it was kinda obvious I wouldn't wear your clothes..." She offers and then follows him once more when he mentions she's likely hungry. "You aren't wrong there. About me being hungry..." She catches up to pace next to him. "What about company? Though, I figured everyone who's walked into the convent is welcome here for the time being so..." She doesn't really have much in the way of friends outside the couple of people she's seen walk through the doors.
- Jorn (418) has posed:
"No. I'm going to do worse," Jorn says this matter of factly, like explaining the drink he's about to order with a takeout order. That's what he plans to do.
A look goes toward Baron Von'egel," and then he will give the Baron a good once over. "We need a medic," he says firmly tyring to assess the injuries. A look comes toward Thaarin. <Is this a buyer?> He'll wait for Cayde's reply. That's the only thing holding him back at the moment.
Although, the temptation to shoot the hut owner is great. Jorn sees it as an annoyance that will go away. No more, no less. Therefore, it's not worth the time, or effort, to shoot her. Plus, he does have some morality in that that would later guilt him for such a decision. Repeatedly. Often. It's just easier to push past it all.
- Navi has posed:
"I'll hold you to that," Navi retorts softly, looking over the selection thoughtfully. There's a speeder bike that looks too small for an adult male Human, but should be able to handle her weight...
And then Vons shows up, and she has to put that idea aside. One look at the shuttle Cayde had borrowed is enough to disqualify it; it doesn't even look like it will fly. And the only thing that might carry more than herself is what looks like a compact speeder truck with an open cab and a cargo bed. There are two seats. Definitely not ideal.
"I'm almost afraid to ask what Mr. Cranky over there is on about with you," she says to Vons, picking up the coded key for the cart and setting down twenty credits in advance. "Cayde I would understand. C'mon. Our repulsorchariot awaits," she adds, jogging toward the diminutive vehicle.
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde sighs at the vague descriptions Wiis is giving. It might have to be a wait and see situation. <No...you tell them off....> he tells her. <If they threaten you...I protect you> Meaning, she could tell them that if they mess with her, they mess with the Jedi.
<Yes> he tells Jorn when he asks if Kass was one of the buyers. Plus, he attacked unprovoked only just moments ago. He glances down at Kass's unmoving form, then looks back up at Jorn. [Maybe restrain him] he signs, although there is a thought projection at the same time, or at least a notion. Maybe it's to help Jorn learn.
- Athena (159) has posed:
Thankfully, the coast is clear, 'Jasper' and the Arkanians are still away.
"Don't," Vons says, shaking his head. "It has to do with Cayde, but we'll not get into that now." He motions for Pike to hop on after he's boarded himself. "Let's go, I'm not getting any younger over here."
"Is it?" 'Crane' says inscrutably.
"Why, you were hoping for someone else besides me?" he says, escorting her to the mess hall. He'll swipe them in with a keycard, and then hand it to her. "Use this for the inner sanctum."
The Baron doesn't really look too injured. There's a scorch mark where Cayde's saber came in contact with his beskar, but other than that, he seems fine - just, really, really drunk. Thaarin's expression hardens. He looks down at the Baron, his expression unreadable, but after a moment he finally says, "I'll reach out to Master Windu. I think he's in town." Then he sends text transmission to the elder Jedi Master. <It would appear we have an unconscious Mandalorian in the Junkyard. Would you be able to come over and examine him>
"I already have," Wiis retorts. "It's not going to do any good. The best thing you can do, is hand that cortosis over so that I can be paid and the damn thing will go to Mandalore if any of 'em want it," she grumbles.
- Pike Windu has posed:
The elderly Jedi laughs after he gets on. "Neither am I."
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
In truth, Zetha was hoping to talk more to Thaarin before the man rushed off. But remembering how he sort of brushed off her existence to begin with doesn't sit well in her mind right now. "No. Not in the moment, anyway. But you likely have things to do on a day to day basis and it was more just a general question than I...can I invite someone over now type of inquiry." She then chuckles and shakes her head. "The way things are going it seems only a few people want to be around me right now anyway. And neverminding any of that, I am enjoying your company Crane. Thank you."
When he hands her the keycard she blinks but then nods. "Is this the inner sanctum or is that somewhere else, and is this keycard yours? I assume you'd be able to obtain another either way..." Inner Sanctum sounds wholly important and like a place that Zetha shouldn't step into if she's being honest with herself.
- Navi has posed:
"/You/ got stuck cleaning up Cayde's mess? How'd /that/ happen?" Navi asks Vons as she starts up the cart and accelerates off toward the junkyard, giggling at Master Windu's dad joke. A journey that would normally take ten minutes on foot will probably take half of that or less with the vehicle.
- Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn will get to work -quickly- to restrain that person. He'll use two restraints per wrists, and ankles. He will do everything this person can't move. Also, he will look to remove anything remotely that looks like a communication device and weapons from the person.
A few stray thoughts run through Jorn's head once everything is done. How harming, or killing, someone with the face of an enemy could be catharic. How a decapitated head would make a hell of a statement back home. Especially, if he just haphazardly tosses it at the man's family.
And no matter how much Jorn may want these thoughts, he won't Maybe it's conscience. Maybe it's a code. Maybe it's something else. Whatever it is, all of it centers around one stray thought. Giving into those desires makes him no better than Caine and Caine has too much blood on his hands. Jorn doesn't need to compete with that.
Turning Kass into a frozen trophy has an appeal. He'd look good in carbonite. May even get some leverage for it, too.
Jorn will try to com his friends when it's done. <We need to leave. Now. It's no longer safe here.>
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
<I can't do that> Cayde tells her, but doesn't elaborate on why. Well, if she's already warned them, then that's that. If they show up, they would be dealt with, one way or another.
He hesitates a moment, some of Jorn's fantasies flashing through his mind. There is a temptation to try to change them himself, but...no...that would be an overreach. Dangerous, even. Besides, it seemed that he was at least sort of on the right path. It would be best to let them sort out their own issues...
- Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari had bored of the situation once Kass had been knocked out and had gone elsewhere in town. But her response is fairly quick.
|Tired of your training already? Or do you feel ready to return to Mandalore?
- Athena (159) has posed:
Soon, Pike, Navi, and Vons will arrive at the Junkyard. The elder Jedi Master will probably immediately notice the unconscious Mandalorian lying face down on the ground, while Jorn restrains him and thinks about how nice it would be put the man in carbonite.
"I said," Vons says, "don't ask. I'll tell you later," He says, rolling his eyes.
'Crane' shakes his head. "If the Force calls me to keep someone who needs company, company, then I shall not refuse," he says. "We're in the inner sanctum now," he says, guiding her to a table. "It's just the area reserved for the people who are at the convent on a regular basis. I have a duplicate. So you may keep this one, if you wish."
"What!" Wiis cries angrily. "Why doesn't anyone tell me anything! Dammit, it's so frustrating!"
Meanwhile, Er'gi had messaged Volken privately after he'd departed the junkyard, with his attempts to get Cayde to give him and Kass the cortosis immediately having failed. <Vod, we need to talk. I'll explain everything>
- Navi has posed:
Navi shrugs, parking the compact speeder truck and dismounting to approach the downed Mandalorian, Jorn, and Cayde. "You've been busy. So, who's this guy, and why's he taking a literal dirt nap?" she asks.
- Pike Windu has posed:
Windu smirks and then composes himself. I trust he doesn't need my services."
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
"Oh. I see. Well thank you. I will return it if I ever leave the convent in a way that I won't be a more regular presence." Zetha offers, popping the card into a pocket at that point. As they reach the table, she takes a seat, deciding not to make another comment aloud. In her head, however, she wonders now if it's the Force giving her company or someone who simply wants it genuinely. Depending, that might lower the amount of people she's considering actually want her around. It might only be one person at this point. "A meal and then I might take time to settle into my temporary placement. I think I've taken up enough of people's time already..."
- Volken Mons has posed:
Volken has just been watching this whole situation, standing off to the side, and not attempting to get involved or intervene. When his comm goes off he frowns and listens ...and then turns and starts to tromp off after the other large Mandalorian. Not as large as him though! But Er'gi is probably not going to be hard to find!
<<Alright I'm coming.>> he responds.
His departure is probably noticable. It's hard to miss when he moves around.
- Jorn (418) has posed:
<Mandaos are here> Jorn says firmly over the comunicator. That's what he replies. Then he starts to look over Kass's communicator. Seeing if there's any form of written communications. Something that could be used.
His attention will go back to the other buyers for a moment. The gun is out as he waits to hear and see something going astray.
His gaze slipping between the communicator and the situation unfolding.
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
When Wiis starts complaining again that no one is answering her questions, Cayde turns his attention back to her again, entering her mind bit more forcefully again. <Do not blame Zetha...not her fault...only wanted to protect you>
He watches as Volken departs suddenly as well. What had caught the big man's attention, he wonders. But he doesn't pry, not this time.
- Ellari Zin has posed:
|I saw that, but I thought Er'gi had said everyone back home was too occupied with the scandal around the Von'egel twins at the moment. Did anyone else show up?
- Athena (159) has posed:
"You know," 'Crane' continues, "you don't have to." He offers her a brief smile. "You too, could become one of the Disciples of the Whill, if you wanted to. I, for one, would welcome that."
Then his brows furrow and he levels his electric indigo gaze at her again. "Well, you're wrong," he says, very frankly. "You may think you're taking too much of people's time, occupying too much space - you're not, and you never will. And anyone who tells you otherwise, speaks falsely. If I didn't want to be here right now, I wouldn't be," he says, suddenly getting up and going into the kitchen.
"Hmm," Thaarin comments when Pike says he thinks Kass doesn't need his services, "it's as I thought. He's just drunk. Thank you for coming anyway, Master Windu. Your presence is appreciated." He turns to Navi. "I'm going to be honest, I have no idea. I think he was supposed to be one of Wiis' buyers. There was.. an altercation."
"You!" Vons suddenly says when he sees Jorn, pointing. "You know any Mandalorians around here that go by the alias 'Jasper'?"
Er'gi messages Volken back. <Meet me at Hap's in the town plaza> he says, <Haar'chak! This has become a mess>
Jorn will scroll through the messages and see that while there's not much there, it's clear he'd been in communication with the hut owner, Wiis, about the cortosis. There's also at least a dozen or so messages that he's sent to his twin brother Caine, begging him to tell him where he is, and what he's up to now. Thus far, he'd received no response from him.
Wiis shakes a finger at Cayde. "You... you! You've ruined everything! You stay out of my head, -and- my business!" she then storms back into her house, and disappears from view.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha blinks after Crane says his piece before watching him get up to head to the kitchen. Only then does she sit back in her chair a bit and then takes her comm out of her pocket, flipping it to she can send a text. Though her fingers hesitate a moment and then she seems to have second thoughts and simply puts her comm away again. Messaging Wiis is a silly idea. Damn near stupid, really. And Thaarin? What would she say to him? So she sits there, looking around to take in her surroundings. But to become a disciple? She likely doesn't have that in her. Too stubborn and impulsive. Which is what got her in trouble to begin with.
- Volken Mons has posed:
<<Fine. I'm on my way.>>
Volken discontinues the communication for now and continues making his way through the streets, following the ping to Er'gi's location.
"This is... Ugh..."
Once again things are becoming more complicated. Too complicated.
It indeed is beginning to make him long for the simple life of losing all of his money in Canto Bight and not this craziness he's been dragged into. Now including Jedi no less.
- Navi has posed:
"Is /that/ why Wiis is in such a bad mood?" Navi asks Thaarin, watching the older woman flounce back inside her house. "The deal got broken? Do you think we can somehow make things right with her? I mean, there's no law against trading in cortosis, or at least I don't know of any."
She looks around for Cayde among the others still outside. "So what happened?" she asks the Padawan when she spots him. "This place is a real mess. Also, Zetha is safe at the convent."
- Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn will point his weapon on Vons as if suddenly paying attention to everything again. "I haven't heard that name in a while," not exactly a lie. "Who's asking and why?" he says as the weapon just level sat Vons for a moment.
Jorn does have an idea forming. A couple of them. He'll address them later. One involves a story about a hutt. The other involves a caption <You won't believe what people will throw toss out in the junkyard these days> followed by a holostill of Jorn with a very knocked out Kass. And then a bargain proceeding from there. Because what would someone give to see their family member alive? Jorn's price is pretty cheap. Just some words said before a specific public audience in a particular place. But that's later.
"My busines is with this one and to help the woman. Then I'm out of everyone's hair." The blaster stays leveled on the person pointing at him.
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
[He attacked me] Cayde replies to Navi's question, his gaze going over to the unconscious Mandalorian. He nods when she tells him Zetha is safe now and presumably isn't homeless any more. Maybe she'd be better off and even happier there than living with this...stubborn old Zabrak woman who won't even accept the help she needs.
The padawan tenses when blasters are suddenly leveled at Vons. Jasper? He hasn't heard that name before, either.
- Ellari Zin has posed:
Now that image has Ellari impressed. Maybe Jorn has gotten -some- things figured out, now. She smirks.
|Ah, now you might be onto something. And where will you take him?
- Athena (159) has posed:
the Tholothian Disciple returns with a tray full of soup, bread, and beautiful looking salad. Off to the side are some pretty yellow flowers, native to Tenoo. He really did like giving people flowers didn't he. After setting the tray down, he climbs into the tree that's the center piece of the mess hall, and sitting on a large branch, takes out an Andraven flute. He starts playing a pretty melody, and only stops to say, "You're not very religious, are you?"
When Volken arrives, Er'gi will cut to the chase. "That Jedi boy is trouble! He won't give us the cortosis. I'd wanted to convince Kass to buy it and leave immediately, and not linger here. I saw Jorn. I don't want anyone knowing we're gone too long, and to suspect! It's for your sake, vod. The quicker we can finish our business and leave, the better it is for you, and Jorn!"
"Well, Cayde won't give it to the buyers, which has complicated things. She just wants the money, I believe. I don't think she thinks the Mandalorians will cause trouble." Thaarin pauses. "She is? well anyway, I'm going to go check in on her. I'll see you back at the colony at some point."
"Me," Vons says, apparently not intimidated by the gun. "And I think you're lying! He seems like a trouble maker. What do you know about him?"
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
"I mean..." Zetha begins, taking the salad first but she looks at it like it's the best thing she's seen in her life. "Not really? I believe in the Force, but I've never really managed to learn a lot about it to be honest. Going from the streets to a junkyard didn't leave much for learning." She takes a bite of the salad then, perking up a little at it. "This is delicious." There's the flowers to consider too and then she glances to Crane who's playing on a flute. "You really seem to enjoy music. You're very good at it."
- Volken Mons has posed:
"I don't even know what the cortosis /is/." protests Volken, "I just got there! Why's the Jedi so interested in keeping it? Whatever it is?!" Volken looks exasperated.
"If the boy thinks he's doing some 'good' or something then getting him to let go of it isn't going to be easy. It's what these Jedi do. What is it? Some sort of weapon you were hired to retrieve?"
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
The blaster bolt very -nearly- strikes Vons in the knee, but stops mere centimeters away. He might even be able to feel the heat for a split second before the shot is deflected away and strikes the ground instead. Cayde gives Vons an exasperated sort of look. For a Zeltron, his persuasion skills aren't very good.
- Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn tries to take the shot against Vons. Right now this is all wasting time that he doesn't have anymore. The longer he stays here, the longer everyone else could be in trouble. That's why he's just done. Even if he doesn't want to be, Jorn has to be. He would like to train more. He would like to learn more. Whether it's the fate, or the force at work, that's not in the cards for Jorn right now.
"I don't have time for this," he fires off two shots with the blaster. Bright red cuts through the surface, but something weaves and moves causing the blasts to miss. Not letting anything show from actions that aren't solely his. The rest of the world doesn't need to know that..
"Back down. The next shots won't miss," he says to Vons and brandishes blaster again.
"Leave while you can. Leave the woman alone. Do not come back." Jorn's just pivoting this miss into persuassion. Feeling the heat of a blaster bolt can change minds pretty quick.
- Navi has posed:
Navi winces at blaster fire, seeing Jorn fire two shots at Vons. At least he was aiming for knees or legs and not potentially lethal hits, but it's still a shock.
"Hey!" she cries, stepping closer to Vons and Jorn. "Hey... can we just /not/ with the whole shooting at allies thing?" she asks. "I think we all want to help Wiis somehow, but bodies on her lawn just don't seem like the way to do it."
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Once Jorn begins to turn to words instead of blaster bolts, Cayde decides maybe he should go check on Zetha. Navi had said she was at the convent, but hopefully had actually found somewhere to stay at least for now. However, it didn't seem like Wiis had any intention of welcoming her back, so perhaps a more long-term solution was needed at some point. He turns and starts heading back that way.
- Athena (159) has posed:
"The Force is in every living thing," he says, "it can see the consequences of our actions, and sometimes, will reveal them to us." He fiddles with the flute absently. "It's never too late to learn anything," He says.
He shrugs when she says it's delicious. "My mother was a musical, creative spirit. She sang, she danced, and loved poetry."
"Cortosis a rare and wondrous resource," Er'gi explains. "It can be used to create cortosis weave, which can be threaded into beskar to increase it's deflection power. Not only this, but it can short out lightsabers. Which is likely why the boy won't give it to us. You need to convince him we have no intention of doing harm to him or his allies. We're just trying to broker a business deal, one that will keep Kass from going off the deep end. He's at an all time low, Volken. He's desperate for any kind of validation. He's not going to go back to Mandalore without it. And the longer he stays here, the more you, and Jorn and whoever else is helping you is jeopardized!" He sighs. "You may be wondering why I'm doing this. He does outsource me from time to time for help with supply chain management, so when he asked me to come along, I couldn't say no. He has no one, his business and reputation are a smoldering wreck, not even his own mother will see him. He is a stupid chakaar but he doesn't deserve this. It wasn't even his idea to steal the Dark saber, Caine persuaded him. But he's taking all the blows. Didn't you see him? He couldn't even stand. And if he keeps drinking at the rate he's drinking, he's going to die alone and despised, drowning face first in a keg of liquor. I wouldn't wish that kind of death even on my worst enemy."
Vons curses loudly. "Hey!" he shouts at Jorn. "I wasn't trying to hurt the junkyard owner? Kriff! I'm just saying, if he's my problem, he might actually also be -your- problem. Don't you want that settled?" He grumbles. "Kriff these Mandos," the Zeltron man grumbles. He scowls at Cayde. "Well, at least we can call it even, now. After you literally didn't do anything to help the vehicle rental owner whose cruiser -you- banged up, he forced -me- to do -your- job." Then Cayde starts walking away. "I'm talking to you!" he fumes.
- Volken Mons has posed:
"The boy and the girl have been deputized. If there was some sort of criminal act done to try and get this resource then they're probably looking at it from that perspective. They won't just give it up easy if Kassady did somehing that warrents them going after them. I don't particularly care about Kassady's state of mind but sure, let him find a way to recover his honor but I can't promise that the boy will just give up the Cortosis if he thinks that there's some sort of danger involved. He thinks the woman in the junkyard was being threatened."
Volken sighs and then switches his comm on to contact Jorn.
<<Jorn, tell the boy I said to give you the Cortisis and bring it to me. He'll understand you when you speak to him. Tell him it's Mandalorian merc business and the woman's not in any danger. He'll understand.>>
Volken looks back to Er'gi, "You owe me. I don't want that mess on Mandalore dragged here. I want Kassady gone...and if Caine shows up I'm twisting him into a knot."
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
"No. It never is." Zetha says this much and then takes another bite of salad before reaching to tear off a bit of bread, dunk it into the soup and then eat that. There's no telling what sort of food Zetha's survived on. With the way she's eating, it's likely never been anything like what 'Crane' has put before her. "I'd like to learn. I don't know if becoming a disciple of anything is in my current Pazaak hand but hey..." She smiles while glancing to him more directly. "Your mother sounds like a wonderful woman."
- Jorn (418) has posed:
"The restrained man on the ground is with me. I'm taking him with me. He'll be a problem for no one here soon enough," Jorn says just matter of factly. Jorn's losing track of who is who, and so he just goes down to grab Kass and start to drag him. "I need to go. Let me pass.
Jorn looks at Cayde. "I can still shoot him," he knows they'll say "No." Still, the Mando will offer as he tries to make his way back to Ell with prize in tow.
"I can't stay here anymore," Jorn says.
"You need to give me the Cortisis to give to Volken," Jorn says to Cayde for a moment just stopping now to get what Volken requests of him.
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde doesn't seem to have any problem with Jorn taken Kass to...wherever he plans to take him. The man clearly has issues, and it all seems like a lot of Mandalorian business. As they are not a part of the Republic, they should probably be left to deal with their own politics. As it seems the training Jorn wanted was also some matter of politics as well. It also helped that it was clear to the young Jedi that Jorn didn't have any intentions of actually doing any serious harm.
However, he does seem to take issue, once again, with giving up the cortosis. He pauses his exit briefly, glancing over toward Jorn and shaking his head. Another projection is sent into Jorn's mind. <I must ask my master> Then he turns to leave once again.
- Navi has posed:
Navi gives Vons and Jorn a sympathetic look before moving to follow Cayde. "Our ride's over here," she says, indicating the compact speeder truck with its two seats and open cargo bed.
- Athena (159) has posed:
Er'gi frowns. "The boy and girl are deputy? They are but mere children... The Republic has such strange ideas..." He shrugs. "I've no idea how this woman got the cortosis. All I know is that we are acquiring it from her according to galactic laws. We hold no grudge against the woman, the issue at hand is the Jedi will not give it to us, and she told us that he'd be unwilling. I did not anticipate you'd be here... We will not harm the boy, since it would appear you two are allies. The other problem that is not yet a problem but will be soon if the boy doesn't comply quickly, is that I am more than certain that the junkyard owner was in contact with other buyers. Aruetti. Ones with no honor. And if he takes too long to hand it over, they may come snooping. It is a highly sought after resource, anyway."
"Heh, you and me both. More than anything I want Kasseady to haul ass off this planet, and for his hu'tunn brother to never see the light of day again. I've no idea where he is though, sadly."
'Crane' smiles, and comes down from the tree with a kind of acrobatic grace that feels a bit supernatural. He comes to sit quite close to Zetha. He uses some of the sanitizing wipes on the table she's sitting at to clean off the flute. Then he hands it to her. "Like I said, it's never too late to learn. My mother would have wanted you to learn."
Zetha might be about to give the flute a toot. But then she'll hear someone familiar calling her name. It sounds like Thaarin.
"Hey! Hey!!" Vons yells at Cayde. "Are you gonna help the rental place with the cleaning or what?! I'm not gonna be your substitute forever!" Then the Zeltron man deflates. "He's spacing out again," he says to Navi. "Can't you use your mind powers or whatever to get his attention?" he says as he makes his way over to the speeder truck.
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
When Navi points over toward the truck, Cayde's expression lights up a bit. He hurries over to the vehicle, with the intention of getting into the driver's seat before Vons can...
- Navi has posed:
"When I do that, he just ignores me. And he's stronger in telepathy than me, so he can pretty well do it at will," Navi replies to Vons, shrugging. "And he almost never answers the comlink, either, so that's out."
- Volken Mons has posed:
"I figured it wouldn't be thqt eassy. That boy's more stubborn then an ornery bantha." remarks Volken when Jorn reports the negative back to him.
"Damn boy, now I'm going to need to get hands on with this craziness.... I had better not regret this."
He listens as Er'gi further explains and then rumbles, "So you're saying she got ahold of it but you had come to buy it from her and there are others that are interested as well so we're dealing with multiple parties..."
With that, he turns to start to head back to the Junkyard.
"Let's intercept him and deal with this so you all can be on your way. If you know who these other parties are you should tell me. It's a good thing that I'm here, vod. Otherwise you all would likely leave a mess trying to get this resource."
He quickens his pace now, using his long strides to try and quickly return back to the yard. Fortunantely Er'gi is one of the few who can keep up with his stride.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Indeed, Zetha gets a few more bites of food in before she hears that familiar voice calling her name. This gains her attention for a moment, but then she wonders if she should even bother. Why is he back now and looking for her? If she can hear it, it's likely 'Crane' can also. "Is Thaarin able to get into the inner sanctum?" She doubts it, but it's asked out of curiosity anyway. "If not, could we let him in? I'd like to hear what he may have to say. He did mention he was going to go talk to Wiis." Of course, having absolutely no idea about the craziness that just happened at the junkyard, it's going to be quite an interesting meeting.
- Athena (159) has posed:
"Oh KRIFF NO," Vons yells at the young padawan. "You are not wrecking -another- vehicle so I can get stuck being your stupid ass substitute for the next week!!" He fails to catch up to the young padawan who is racing to get into the speeder truck's pilot seat, so he just takes off one of his shoes and throws it at Cayde's head. Bonk.
Er'gi actually laughs. "I have a feeling, that it may end in a fight, and if so, neither of us will be unhappy about that. And you're absolutely right. I think this would have been so much worse if you hadn't been here...the old Zabrak might have had some corpses in her yard."
Indeed, Er'gi does keep up. "I'm not entirely certain of the identity of the other buyers. She was being dodgy when I asked if there were others she was considering selling to. She'd alluded to the Hutts. I wouldn't mind squeezing the life out of some slug, actually..."
'Crane' gets up and ushers her to the door. "You may go out to him," he says, "I cannot allow unregistered guests into the inner sanctum." Then he bows politely, and opens the door for her.
Thaarin seems relieved to see she seems to be doing better. "Zetha! Thank the light. Are you feeling better? I'm sorry I had to leave so quickly." His hands mold gently around her shoulders.
- Navi has posed:
"Like /frell/ you're driving, Cayde... I paid the rental fee. You can drive when /you/ pay for it. Besides, I saw the /last/ thing that guy let you drive. Not happening now," Navi states. As if to end the argument, she pulls the coded key to the vehicle from her pants pocket and twirls it around her finger by its ring.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
At least she has that keycard tucked away so she can get back in. She was also able to eat decently before Thaarin returned so she's not going to be starving anytime soon. "Thank you, Crane." She offers to the Disciple before she's face to face with Thaarin. "I'm not really feeling anything right now, Thaarin." She feels his hands on her shoulders and had a milisecond fight with herself on whether to pull away or not. She doesn't, but those purple eyes lift to meet his crimson gaze. "I also think I've suffered enough in recent days. It's fine you left in a rush. But why are you back?"
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Bonk, indeed. The shoe doesn't quite hit him in the head but it clips a shoulder. This doesn't stop him from getting into the driver's seat in spite of both of their protests. But if Vons tries to wrestle him out of it, he'll definitely wrestle him back. No, he doesn't even have the access codes but he wasn't even thinking about that. Instead, he just picks up Vons' shoe and puts it on his belt.
- Athena (159) has posed:
Vons is shoved to the ground, unfortunately, but when Navi intervenes, he groans, relieved. "Oh thank the light," he says. "I thought I was gonna have to miss -more- work because Cayde was gonna play hooky again for ruining another vehicle. Thanks, Navi." He glares at Cayde, "Now get out of that seat. You're -not- driving." He then attempts to shove Cayde off the seat.
Thaarin pauses. "I just wanted to see how you were feeling, and wanted to make sure you were going to be alright." He offers her a faint smile. "I didn't get to talk to Wiis yet, but I will, I promise." But then his commlink blinks and he looks down to check it. "Look, I.. I need to get going again. I'll see you tomorrow? We can meet up over lunch at... Hap's? I'm staying the night again." He reaches down to squeeze her hand affectionately. "Goodnight. Sleep well, my dear Zetha. We'll talk soon." Then he turns to leave, again, without explaining why he's in Kublop overnight -again-. But maybe she can guess.
If she goes back to the room 'Crane' has provided her, she'll find that everything had been tidied. The pillows in the hammock have been fluffed, there's a cozy blanket on top of it, plus the rest of the salad she'd really liked, in a bowl but covered.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
"We can meet here." Zetha says. Though she frowns when he's all suddenly running away again. So as he's turning away she'll only offer, "You don't need to go talk to her. She's made her choice, and I'm making my peace with it. So come here tomorrow. We'll talk. If you can stay long enough to hold a conversation." She might have meant to put a little venom into her words, but so be it. With Thaarin gone, she'll resign to indeed go to the room 'Crane' has given her. Walking in to see it tidied, the hammock made up and the salad she enjoyed there's a soft smile. She'll get herself all settled into the hammock, blanket draped over herself partially while she munches salad and finds her holoreader from her backpack to enjoy a book on. Maybe this will be fine after all.
- Navi has posed:
Navi rolls her eyes as Vons and Cayde wrestle over driving the rented luggage hauler. "Get out of my way or walk," she states, her tone brooking no argument, the key still clenched in her hand.
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde keeps wrestling Vons over the driver's seat for several more seconds, but eventually he just gives up and jumps off of the truck entirely. Then he simply hurries off, disappearing around a corner before anyone can shout anything else at him.
- Athena (159) has posed:
By the time Cayde and Vons have finished wrestling. Navi's probably driven off, as the two of them had plowed right off the vehicle and fallen onto the ground.
When Cayde jumps up and disappears without warning, Vons gestures obscenely in his direction.
