Profile

Hailing from the desert planet Mirial, the clan Covo has long supplied the Jedi Order with force-sensitive children, and Tresslo is the latest of his generation. This lineage combined with a prodigious knack for swordplay have given rise to a sense of arrogance in the Mirialan, a quality frowned upon within the Order. Nonetheless, he is an eager student, always ready to prove his worth and devoted to the ideals of the Galactic Republic.

Background

Born on the dry world of Mirial, Tresslo was born to Clan Covo, a lineage near-revered on the desert planet for producing an unusual number of Force-sensitive children. Due to his people's long connection to the Jedi Order, each of these children was raised in the Jedi Temple at Coruscant. At the time of his birth, Tresslo had three relatives in the Order but only one was a Jedi knight: his father's uncle, Trar Covo.

Thus, it was a matter of fate rather than chance that Tresslo would show signs of Force sensitivity. In infancy, he sought out the same baubles his Jedi relatives once did when they were his age, always calm and still in their presence as if reliving old memories. He was taken to live at the Jedi Temple a few months after his first birthday. While he was never permitted to visit Mirial again, he was surrounded by kin who watched out for him from an appropriate distance.

Tresslo was among the rowdier Jedi initiates, but this inclination was tempered by the watchful eye of the Jedi Masters and a physical discipline that rapidly became apparent. He had a natural talent for the physical instruction required by the Jedi masters, including skill with a lightsaber. His agility, reflexes, and strength were all honed to perfection through rigorous training. Even from a young age, his physical prowess led to a growing desire for personal recognition despite his mentors' best efforts to instill humility in the young Mirialan.

Outside of the exercise rooms, he was a diligent student of alien cultures and intergalactic law. He loved reading about tales of the Order's heroic deeds and was proud of the Order's privileged status as saints in the galaxy, but he was slow to develop a compassionate attitude towards the less fortunate members of the Republic. As he grew older, he attempted to mask this flaw with a meticulous routine, taking great care in maintaining a composed exterior and ensuring that his conduct was immaculate before his superiors' gaze, especially when he was assigned to his great-uncle, Jedi Master Trar Covo, as a Padawan learner.

Master Covo was a seasoned Jedi, even-tempered and given to lengthy deliberations. He was seen as wise and prudent by his peers, and Tresslo was devoted to him despite frequent clashes in personality. On their missions together, it was not uncommon for Tresslo to rush off to pursue an objective, irrespective of the danger to those around him, only to be chastened later for his impulsiveness.

Eventually, Master Covo's reputation as a tactful leader stirred the interests of the Jedi's masters. They offered him a seat on their High Council and left it to him to decide what should become of his padawan. Master Covo thought about the matter for weeks. On his part, Tress pushed for his advancement to knighthood relentlessly. His skill with a lightsaber rivaled that of knights, or so he claimed, and his force powers of body and manipulation were well-trained. However, Covo decided that his nephew's nature was too flawed for a true Jedi Knight and thought that perhaps their blood kinship was the source of Tresslo's arrogance. Master Covo joined the Jedi Council, but Tresslo remains a Padawan, to be assigned to a new master until his training's completion.

Persona

Compared to other Padawan learners, Tresslo seems quite sure of himself, glib-tongued and impeccable in his presentation. He tries to uphold the tenets of the Order in his deeds, but he never truly developed a taste for helping others, and this comes out in his somewhat reckless approach. A devoted servant at times, a spoiled brat at others, Tress' prideful nature can make him appear to be a bit of a glory hound.
