| Location: | Kublop Springs - Tenoo - Outer Rim |
| Synopsis: | Various people visit the hospital in Kublop. |
| Cast of Characters: | 1, Zetha Rumir, Navi, 141, Cayde Alexis |
- Andromeda (1) has posed:
A couple of days after the incident at the farmstead, Dr. Cassias would have been informed that the Harding family had arrived at the clinic in Kublop to speak to him as he'd requested at the time. There are six of them, an older but not 'elderly' couple and four children ranging in age from preteens to early 20s.
For his part, Cayde is mostly back to normal, anyway at least enough that -he thinks- he should have been discharged already. However, there is some lingering indigestion that the doctor may have wanted to keep an eye on for a bit longer.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha made a promise to visit Cayde, and it's a promise that she fully intended to keep. So she walks back into the hospital, checks in as a visitor and then walks towards Cayde's room. Once there, she gives the door a few knocks while opening it so that Cayde can see who's knocking and either let her in or tell her to go away.
- Navi has posed:
Cayde is still in the hospital, so Navi is still trying to visit him once a day; her responsibilities as Deputy Marshal are keeping her busy, but hopefully her efforts are making for a much safer colony. Hopefully.
She arrives at his room just as Zetha knocks on the door, and just as the Harding farming family has arrived to speak with Dr. Cassias. She pauses in the hallway, idly watching.
- Soren Cassias (141) has posed:
The family would be greeted by the doctor's young assistant, Luli. She waves to them, grinning broadly. "So glad you could all make it on time! The doctor's a very busy man and the clinic here has been so gracious to us in allowing us to use their facilities out of convenience, since the Colony is so far away." She gestures for them to have a seat in the lobby. "He should be here soon," she says, then disappears behind the desk.
Zetha will run into a familiar but perhaps not terribly welcome face when they arrive at Cayde's room - Thaarin. He glances briefly at her and nods, but he doesn't say anything to her.
Instead, he glances to Navi and places a hand on her shoulder. "Thank you for coming," he says, "is the doctor going to visit him today? Do you know?"
- Andromeda (1) has posed:
The older Mr. Harding, the one who had convinced Zetha to promise to see Dr. Cassias, nods politely to Luli. "We're just glad he was willing to see us," he tells her. He and his family then take a seat in the lobby as requested, to wait for Soren.
As Navi, Zetha, and Thaarin make their way into Cayde's room, they may or may not be surprised to find that he isn't in there. The bed isn't made though, so it does look like maybe he is supposed to be here but isn't.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha actually seems to slump a little when Thaarin effectively ignores her, but it's a breath later that she sees Cayde's not in his room. "He might be walking around or in the cafeteria." She offers in a general sense. But she's not about to stay where someone doesn't want her, and Thaarin was here first. So she smiles to Navi and asks, "If you see Cayde will you tell him I'll try to visit him later? Thanks." All of that so she doesn't have to wait for a reply before she's noping out of this situation and heading towards the exit of the hospital.
- Navi has posed:
Navi blinks at Zetha's request, then slaps her forehead with her palm. "Force help us... don't tell me he's /gone/..." she groans softly. "Maybe I should've been less gentle when I talked to him about that whole, 'Learn to listen' spiel..."
- Soren Cassias (141) has posed:
Moments later, the doctor appears in the lobby, and shakes everyone's hand, smiling and greeting them politely. "I hope you're all feeling a bit better today. I'd like to talk to each one of you individually," he says, "So whoever feels comfortable going first, I can see now." He nods, and then steps back to allow the family to decide who will be seen first.
Thaarin doesn't even wait to hear what Navi's said. He's immediately following Zetha out of the hospital, though he's not interested in talking to her, not right now, anyway. He hurries out of the lobby, and looks around, scanning the vicinity...
- Navi has posed:
Navi watches Zetha hurry out, with Thaarin in what might be hot pursuit. And clearly the doctor is busy. "Okay, I'll, um... wait here. Just in case he comes back," she says softly, and a bit sheepishly, stepping into the hospital room and taking a seat near the bed. "I have my comlink, so please contact me if anything comes up?"
- Andromeda (1) has posed:
All the Hardings shake Soren's hand, introducing themselves to him. Except for the older woman, who seems distracted, but then after a second, nods curtly to him in greeting. Afterward, Emerik, the man of the family it seems, volunteers to go first.
As Zetha is making a hasty beeline for the exit, she will actually almost run into Cayde in the hallway. At least this time, he looks a lot better. No more red, although he looks a little bit paler than usual. And his pale blue eyes are finally open and active once again.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
"Oh. Hey Cayde." Zetha says as she stops right before she runs into him. "You're all walking around like you're healthy as a bantha and making people worried you're an escaped patient." She smiles. "Not me though. I was leaving an uncomfortable situation. Anyway. You're looking well. Feeling better I take it?" This smile reaches her eyes, but only just.
- Soren Cassias (141) has posed:
The doctor nods, and gestures for Emerik to follow him behind the desk. He makes polite small talk, asking him how he's been feeling lately, if the family has been getting along alright since the incident, if he's lived on Tenoo his whole life. Then he ushers him into a comfortable looking room with futon in it and bids for him to sit or lie down on it. He reviews Emerik's medical history with him first, and then transitions smoothly into asking him some questions about what had happened that fateful day. "What were you first impressions of Cayde when you first saw him?" he asks.
Perhaps Thaarin will ruin it by spotting Cayde and coming back in. But he doesn't pay any attention to Zetha. Instead, he looks upon Cayde with relief and mild frustration, for a brief second. "You didn't tell me you were up and about," he chides the young padawan. "How are you feeling? Have you eaten anything today?"
Cayde will be able to tell Thaarin is... wearing really thin. He hasn't slept the past three days, nor has he left the hospital.
- Navi has posed:
Navi leans back in her chair, stretching out with her feelings almost instinctively. It's a few moments before she senses familiar low-self-control surface thoughts of a thoroughness usually lacking in more verbal people.
It's Cayde, of course. At least he seems calm, and in good hands. Standing, she moves to knock gently on the doctor's office door. "Doctor, she asks softly, cracking the door. "I'll be close by if you need any assistance. Ping my comlink if you need to," she advises, before closing the door again.
- Andromeda (1) has posed:
Emerik answers that he hasn't lived on Tenoo his whole life, but he's always wanted to own a farm in the country and start a family to live the quiet life. He sits down on the futon, explaining that he has been feeling all right, but was worried about his wife Neive. The man frowns pensively at the question about Cayde. "Well...Elia found him in the woods near our avabush fields. He was unconscious so I'm not sure exactly. I thought he was just a kid who'd gotten lost or something."
Cayde nods to Zetha's question [...not comfortable...why] he asks her when she mentions an uncomfortable situation. Then Thaarin suddenly appears. He doesn't answer the questions, but instead just makes a comment. [You are troubled] and he didn't need to invade Thaarin's mind to know that.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha's jaw tightens as Thaarin makes his way back in. Ignoring her - again - and even asking the same questions she just asked. She shakes her head. "I'll let you speak with Thaarin." She offers simply this and then turns and continues to walk away. Out of the hospital and back towards the convent. She can talk to Cayde and Navi later when she's with people who want her around.
- Soren Cassias (141) has posed:
"Thank you, Navi," the doctor says kindly and patiently, "I'll definitely let you know if I need anything." He then turns back to Emerick.
"Right," the doctor says. "And did you feel empathy for him, or hostility? Was he trespassing?"
Thaarin doesn't even seem to notice Zetha walking away, which isn't like him at all. "Cayde," he says softly. "I want you to answer my questions," he says, "can you do that for me?"
- Navi has posed:
Navi almost rolls her eyes. Of /course/ Cayde is safe... the Padawan has the luck of a Sith escape artist! She is about to walk outside when she recalls her comlink, and keys up Zetha's frequency.
< Zetha? I've found Cayde, and he seems to be safe, > she transmits via text. < Have you seen him? I just want to confirm that there's no cause for alarm. >
- Andromeda (1) has posed:
"Trespassing? Oh, no not at all!" Emerik replies, shaking his head. "Even if he was, he was just a kid who needed medical attention. I...I mean, I know -I- didn't feel any hostility. I think we all had at least some kind of empathy. He wasn't well."
Cayde frowns, glancing between Thaarin and Zetha as she retreats quickly multiple times. Clearly, something has happened between them, as he can easily feel that the Twi'lek isn't happy with him. But he isn't quite sure what. Suddenly, he turns and hurries after Zetha. <What did he do> he asks.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha pauses in her walk back to the convent to read the message she just received from Navi. <I found him first. Left him to talk to Thaarin. I'm going back to the convent since Thaarin doesn't want me around.>
Once that's sent, and she's quite content to continue her trek to the convent when suddenly there's a Cayde again! She blinks, looks back towards the hospital and then back to Cayde. "I don't know how to explain it. Things were going okay and then they weren't. And he keeps telling me that he can't give me what I want or need right now. Which hurt even worse when he said it right after I was coming out of that vision I had when we found you. I don't think he understands, but we haven't really talked much...and I guess he's decided he simply doesn't want to talk to me ever again. Which is fine. It hurts. But it's fine. Just another thing to get over..."
- Navi has posed:
Now /that/ gets Navi's attention. < Why would Thaarin not want to talk to you? Is something wrong? > she sends back. After all, she didn't see the recent confrontations between Thaarin and Zetha, and to her the idea of Tall Blue, the magnificent magnanimous man-whore NOT wanting to talk to a pretty girl is enough to make a tooka-cat laugh.
- Soren Cassias (141) has posed:
The doctor nods empathetically. "And what are you impressions of him now? Do you feel an hostility now, or just empathy?" he says softly, and kindly. "If you feel any hostility at all, that's alright. You're perfectly justified in feeling that way, even if you don't wish any harm to come to him."
Thaarin's brow furrow. "Cayde, where are you going? Answer my questions, please." And then he sees Cayde run over to Zetha, and he won't need the Force to guess what he's asking her. But when Zetha says that he doesn't understand, and simply doesn't want to talk to her anymore, his expression becomes steely. "Well of course I don't understand!" he says, "I apologized, -twice-, for being inadequate. And somehow, that was the worst thing I could have possibly said. Trying to fix it, made it worse, apparently. And I'm not asking credit for trying, and failing. I'd just hoped you wouldn't make me into a mortal enemy, for hating the part of me that hurt you, and being just another tally mark to justify your fear of abandonment. For living up to your worst fears. I hate that I couldn't figure out how to be the person you wanted me to be. If I could feel what you wanted me to feel, I would. But I can't, and I don't know how. And I would apologize again, but I won't repeat history."
He sighs heavily, deflating completely. "This isn't any of your business, Cayde. Now go back inside the hospital, please." He turns around, and starts heading back inside.
- Andromeda (1) has posed:
"No, not hostility..." Emerik shakes his head. "Well," he exhales audibly. "I--we are somewhat afraid of him." he admits. "I don't think he means us any ill, but from what I can tell, he's sort of...volatile."
Cayde listens to both of their stories, but when Thaarin turns to walk away, he tries to grab his arm and prevent him from leaving. <It's not fine> he replies to Zetha, in her head again.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
"Well maybe it wasn't an apology I was looking for! Force's sake, Thaarin... everytime I've tried to talk to you you've turned it into not being what I want or need. And now you tell me you don't know how!?" Zetha yells back at him. "You wouldn't give me five minutes to come out of that stupid kriffing vision before pelting me with how we haven't talked in a while. Haven't let me tell you I know how busy you are. How stretched thin you are. I've heard about it, hell, I've SEEN it.. just LOOK at you! But everytime it turns into how our feelings don't match and you're so sorry. Don't be sorry about what you can't be, just be my friend! That's all I want. All I need right now. Friends. Who can help me, show me, that this life outside the junkyard isn't as kriffed up as I keep seeing it!" She adds this and then slumps back a little.
"I'm so lost... and everyone pulls me and pushes me in different directions. And then that stupid vision when I thought things were finally getting better. And that cold shoulder shit you gave me just a little bit ago didn't help at all by the way. We haven't talked, we can't talk. For goodness sakes, the last time we tried it wasn't thirty seconds before someone was taking you away again. And the looks they all gave me... how I was -lower- than them...you didn't see it. You don't see it. The hell can I do to make you understand just what it has been like trying to even be given an ounce of your attention for half a minute..."
Zetha stops then and steps back once more. "Gods. I'm sorry. I..." She turns away. "Please just let me go home..."
- Navi has posed:
Navi looks down at her comlink's blinking cursor, waiting for an answer that doesn't come.
Slowly she becomes aware of shouting coming from the front entrance. Is one of those voices Zetha? She starts that way, pausing to look through the door at... a shouting match, really. Thaarin and Zetha, both at the end of their ropes to judge by their faces.
She almost steps outside. Almost. Then she takes a step backward, deeper inside the hospital. She came into this conversation MUCH too late to be of much help.
- Soren Cassias (141) has posed:
The doctor nods. "Of course," he says, "That's completely understandable." He takes a few notes. "Describe 'somewhat afraid.' On a scale of 1-10, how afraid are you? With one finding him harmless and ten being terrified for your life." He continues to nod. "I see. Tell me more."
"What do you want, Zetha," Thaarin says with a quiet anger and stillness that might send chills down her spine. "You want me to be your friend, but you won't let me care about you. You won't let me apologize. And then you accuse me of giving you the cold shoulder, for not giving the attention you want and deserve."
"If you want me to leave you alone, then just say so. But if you want me, then let me -in-, dammit." He jerks his hand away from Cayde. "I said," he says icily. "This -isn't- your business. Stay out of it, and inside the hospital, where you -should- be."
Then he turns and sees Navi. "I'm going to need your help in convincing Cayde to return to his room."
- Andromeda (1) has posed:
"Hmmm, I'd say, maybe a 7." Emerik replies. "Well, volatile as in easily sent out of control. Like a really tired or really hungry kid. Except he doesn't just sit there and cry, instead everyone around 'im is forced to experience some kind of psychological horror that some people might not ever fully recover from..." He stops suddenly, clearing his throat. "I...sorry, I didn't mean to sound that harsh. I--I didn't know Jedi were capable of things like that. But I know he didn't mean it."
Cayde sighs as he watches Thaarin and Zetha go at each other like that. He only wishes, he could bridge them like he can most others. But Thaarin is a mystery. The padawan still doesn't understand why he can't access his mind like he can others. There had to be a way, maybe he needed to research some more. When Thaarin again insists he go back to this room, he doesn't move. Although his eyes are sad, instead of obstinate. So many things are on his mind about this conflict, but he has no idea how to articulate any of them.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha turns back around, tears in her eyes that she wipes away. To her, they're only there for pity. Not because she's completely breaking mentally and emotionally over things that have happened in the last few days. "You may not believe me. But I want you in my life." She says, softly. "I just can't seem to let you in because every time I've tried you've been pulled away. And that's fine. You're a busy man. Too busy I would almost say. But when you have the time, and want to talk. Really talk. I'm always a message away..."
She then looks to Cayde. "You're right too. I'm not fine. I haven't been fine. I thought I was getting better, but the other day broke me. And all I've been trying to do is build up that same wall...but everyone keeps trying to tear it back down. And it's scary and sometimes painful. But that's why I made the appointment with Doctor Cassias...because I think what I've been taking all of everyone's efforts to help...as efforts to harm. And that's not right nor fair. 'Crane' made a good point to. I don't like myself, and until I do...well..." She gestures.
"I'm going to turn around now. And go back to the convent. You should get back to bed. Talk to Thaarin. Answer his questions. And don't worry about me. I'm not okay, but I'm working on it..."
- Navi has posed:
Navi quietly rests a hand on Cayde's shoulder, but makes no move to escort him back inside. Instead, she watches and listens. And inwardly laments being so busy that she rarely sees Zetha, and may have been unavailable when she might have been needed most. She could blame putting on the Deputy Marshal's badge, but it would be a lie. She was too busy even before then.
"Zetha? If you need anything from me, don't hesitate to contact me," she reminds the Twi'lek gently. "In a different way, I've been where you are. I don't know if I can help, but I'm willing to try."
- Soren Cassias (141) has posed:
"That's alright," the doctor says, "and that's helpful to know. It's not harsh, it's how you feel, and there's no point in sugar coating how he actually made you feel. Cognizance of how one truly feels about something, is the first step in the healing process." He gets up and hands Emerik a holopad. "I want you to take some time to look at these questions. There's no right or wrong answer, this exercise is meant to be self reflective, almost meditative. Take your time in writing out your answers, and when you're finished, hopefully I'll have chatted with more of your family members and have a better picture of what happened, and how it made everyone feel. We'll discuss your answers in depth, so think about them carefully." He then gets up and escorts Emerik back out to the lobby. But then he sees there's something going on outside, and tells the rest of the family members to give him ten to fifteen minutes and he'll be back.
"Then why didn't you let me apologize when I said I was sorry I didn't have the time? You say you want me in your life, but then tell me I'm too busy and that's fine. It's clearly not, so stop saying that. If you were somehow hoping I'd start to care less, well you're wrong. I care too much, and that's the problem," Thaarin says, his tone hardening.
At that moment, the doctor arrives on the scene. His hazel eyes surmise the situation, and then he speaks, nodding at the young padawan. "Cayde," the doctor says when he sees Cayde outside with Navi. "The hospital staff would like your help with something. A non profit has brought in a myriad of certified emotional support animals for some of the chronically ill children here, and they want to make sure the animals they pair each child with is a good fit. Think you could lend a hand?" Then he looks to Navi with a shrug. "You could go with him, if you want to. But if not, feel free to take a break. You could probably use it."
He looks to Thaarin. "I think you need to remove yourself from this situation for the time being," he says in a level, calming tone. "You haven't slept in 72 hours, and you're not yourself." All the fight seems to disappear from the tall blue man's bones, and he nods weakly. "...I... you're right."
Then he turns to Zetha, tapping her on the shoulder gently. "Can I talk to you for a moment?"
- Andromeda (1) has posed:
"Thanks, doc." Emerik replies, nodding and taking the holopad. "I will." He follows Soren out, but pauses a moment. "Listen, uh...I just wanted to say that I think--I mean, as bad as the hallucinations were, I -know- Cayde is a good kid. Just--make sure no one gives up on him, okay?" Then he goes to rejoin his family in the lobby.
Cayde continues to watch the conversation play out, and begins to feel better when they seem to calm down and come to some kind of understanding. [Good] he signs to Zetha, although he is grieved by the terrible effect the visions had on her, he tries not to show it. [You can be better]
He then turns to Thaarin. [You go to rest] he signs. Hopefully, Thaarin will talk to her again later when he's less exhausted.
He nods when Soren asks for his help with some emotional support animals. [Okay] he signs.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
The fact that Zetha feels like she's being open and vulnerable - more than in the past - and yet questioned at every thing she says has her slumping even more. Though when she's about to answer, Doctor Cassias appears and begins to delegate people away from the area. When he taps her on the shoulder - because at this point she had turned away - and asks to talk to her a moment....every inch of her wants to say no. She's tired of talking. Tired of saying things only to have them thrown back at her.
But something about that very thought has her then reconsidering. She takes a shuddering breath and then simply nods her head. Words won't come out right now, because inwardly she's fighting a three way battle and she's not sure which side will win - so she doesn't give any side a chance.
- Navi has posed:
"Doctor, would you like me to help you talk to Zetha?" Navi asks softly. "If not, I'm happy to assist with the emotional support animals." She looks to Cayde, then to Zetha and Thaarin. "The convent may have some sleeping space for you, Thaarin," she advises softly. "And the hospital has a program for overnight guests. Either way, I don't think you should try to make it back to the colony. It's just too risky."
- Soren Cassias (141) has posed:
For a brief moment, the doctor is overwhelmed with emotion. But he doesn't let it show. "Of course I won't," he says, but doesn't let the man look into his eyes.
The doctor smiles and pats Cayde on the shoulder. "Thank you," he says, "I really appreciate it."
He looks to Navi. "I appreciate your offer," he says, "and I think Zetha could definitely use some support after our talk, so if you don't mind, come back after we're done chatting?"
"I've a guest room in the hospital," Thaarin says to Navi. "I'll retire there. Thank you..." he then turns to leave, massaging his forehead.
The doctor then turns to Zetha. "Walk with me," the doctor says to Zetha softly, invitationally. After a moment, he says, "Forgive me if this question is prematurely personal, but did you have a father growing up?" Perhaps the question will catch Zetha off guard. Very few people, if any at all, had ever asked her such a thing. Wiis' husband had died long before Zetha had ever come to her. Sometimes people asked Wiis about it, but they'd never directed the question to her, and Wiis had always handwaved it and moved on, changing the subject abruptly.
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde steps closer to Zetha, and pats her on the shoulder. [Thank you for vulnerable] he signs, and she will get the sense that if she ever needed an escape or comfort, or to calm down or whatever, she could always ask him. That garden he'd shown here was nice, but it wasn't the only option, either. In fact, anything she could imagine, he could create it in her mind, make it feel as if she could actually go there.
Then he turns to follow Thaarin back into the clinic.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha looks to Cayde as he signs and then she nods. She signs <Thank you for letting me be.> And then watches as he leaves to go back to the hospital with Thaarin. A glance is given to Navi and the woman is given a nod of her head. Her face isn't giving any emotion. She's locked that down for the moment.
When Soren asks her to walk with him, she does, and then that question is asked. "No." She offers simply. "I didn't have any parents growing up. Earliest memory I have was fighting for scraps or credits on the streets here on Tenoo. Wiis took me in when I was...seven? Somewhere around there...but it was only her." She offers this and then shoves hands into her pockets. "...Sorry..."
- Navi has posed:
"Of course, Doctor," Navi replies, nodding firmly, watching Zetha go with him with sympathy in her eyes. She nods to Zetha in reply to Zetha's nod, then turns to follow Cayde and Thaarin back inside. "I'm not ashamed to admit that I've never worked with emotional support animals before," she observes. "What do we need to do?"
- Soren Cassias (141) has posed:
"I'll message you," he says to the Sephi girl, nodding.
"I thought so," the doctor comments casually. Once they're out of earshot from the hospital, he stops walking suddenly. "I had a thought about why you seem to be having some difficulty regarding relationships with the opposite sex," he says, "it's half baked," he says, "but I've seen it plenty enough in young people. Growing up without a healthy male role model to demonstrate how the dynamic should be between yourself and people of the opposite gender, often creates voids that send individuals aged 18-26 into emotional crisis. They may experience a loss of identity, purpose and self esteem."
He turns to her. "You have a lot of needs, Zetha. Emotional, physical. You're impulsive, and sometimes allow your emotions to completely dictate your actions. But I also want you to know that I see what you're trying to do, and I think it's good, valuable, and important. For someone like yourself, it's completely normal to feel the way you feel, and be the way you are right now. It might seem terrible, but you're not an outlier."
Navi and Cayde won't have to wonder about what needs to be done for long, not long after they've re-entered the hospital, they'll smell ... well, animal. Furred critters. All they'll have to do is follow their noses, and they'll find where the emotional support animals are being kept...
- Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde follows Navi for a bit, but at some point before they find the animals, he suddenly stops walking and that vacant expression appears on his face again. Then after a few seconds, he blinks and starts off in another direction, distracted by some unknown thing or person that he must've felt.
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
"So how do I fix it? Just wait a couple years and grow out of it?" Zetha asks and then shrugs. "Does that also explain, in any way, why I don't like myself? I mean I surely don't expect you to be able to begin helping me fully in a five minute conversation but..." She takes a breath. "I feel like I've been through a grinder, a ringer, and a blender all at the same time. It sucks. How do I get these needs....healthily?"
- Navi has posed:
Navi's delicate nose twitches once, then twice. "Is it just me, or does this job stink?" she quips, mostly jesting. Mostly.
And then Cayde turns and walks off, and she rolls her eyes. "Meet me back in your room, then. And try not to wander off?" With that, she moves to deal with the emotional support pet detail.
- Soren Cassias (141) has posed:
"Something like that," the doctor says, "With a few steps in between."
"I think so," he says. "And like I said, for someone like you, that's normal. You need to start by admitting that you have them, so you've got a head start on that, already. Then you need to start identifying each one."
"I won't lie, Zetha. It's going to be humiliating, frustrating, and time consuming. But you will be better for it, I promise."
He gives her a stern, but tender look, one that a father might give his daughter while telling her that he loved her too much to let her waste her time on friends who gossiped about her and boys who made her cry. "It's okay to not be okay, but you can't stay in that space, Zetha. You can get better, you just need to set your mind to it and create an action plan for how to." His expression then softens. "That being said, it's -good- to cry. And you probably will cry a lot. That's fine. That's healthy. It's not a crime to feel. And you're not going to be alone in this. I'm going to support and guide you, every step of the way. If you ever need anything - advice, a listening ear, or just a friend to sit in silence with, I can and will be that person."
But as Navi is heading towards where the animals are being kept, Thaarin hurries to catch up with her. "I'm ... I'm sorry about earlier. I should have told you I found Cayde. And not just that, the doctor is right. I haven't been myself lately. I'm sorry I wasn't here when Cayde disappeared--"
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha listens and she nods and then she takes a slow breath in and out. "Certainly sometimes feels like a crime to feel. Or not feel. Or be or not be. The thing is that I want to get better. For myself and the people I've become surrounded with. I know I've made mistakes, and I've worked on correcting a few of them..." Her gaze shifts back towards the hospital where Thaarin had disappeared to earlier. "...but I feel like I've screwed up too much for a few others as well."
Then she smiles, however, it doesn't quite reach her eyes. "I won't begin to wonder how you knew there was something that needed to be broken up. But thanks for taking the time. I also know you have some people waiting back in the hospital...so I won't take up more of it. Besides that...I'm...really tired. Not just physically like...emotionally and mentally...I just want to go somewhere and curl up with a book. So...if I could take my leave...I'll see you soon either way I bet."
- Navi has posed:
Navi hugs Thaarin gently. "Thaarin, what are you doing here? You should be sleeping," she whispers gently. "I forgive you for not being yourself, but the only way you're going to be yourself again is to sleep. Preferably before you keel over in a gutter somewhere."
- Soren Cassias (141) has posed:
"I can't guarantee how anyone else will react," the doctor says, "I can only reassure you that it isn't, and I'll never mistreat you for being mortal and having emotions, Zetha. It's never too late to start making a change, and you're young. You have the rest of your life ahead of you."
"You will never take up too much of my time," he says to Zetha. "Please, if you ever need anything, reach out." And then he hugs her, gently. It's a nice feeling, to be held by someone bigger than you, who cared deeply but not in the confusing way that Zetha had experienced so much of with Thaarin, 'Jasper' and maybe even 'Crane.' He cared for her like a daughter, and somehow, it'll feel like he really meant he'd always make time for her, if she needed it.
He then releases her after a brief moment and pats her on the arm, before heading back towards the hospital and his patients.
Thaarin hugs her back, kissing the top of her head briefly. "I'm going now," he says softly, "but I just wanted you to know that. Thank you for forgiving me."
- Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha returns the hug, and for once, it seems like the worries of her world melt away a little. And she has someone she can really confide into about a lot of things. Much like how a daughter would confide in...any parental figure really. A part of all this might even be realizing that as much as there may be some form of love there, Wiis isn't the...most motherly figure.
She suddenly remembers the text on her commlink and as she finally pulls back from Soren and turns to walk back towards the convent she'll read. Then she'll text back <I screwed things up with him. I keep trying to apologize but it doesn't work. But maybe part of that is from him being so kriffing tired. I'm now officially heading back to the convent. Don't worry. We'll talk soon. I just can't talk about much more today.> Then she finishes her walk to the convent. Into he--Crane's room.
It's likely done up as it always is. But she needs her Solace Corner. So she pulls pillows and blankets from the hammock and sets up in that empty corner like she had before, curling into a tight ball of Twi'lek and cries herself to sleep.
- Navi has posed:
"Get some sleep, Thaarin. Thank you for trying to be you," Navi replies softly to Thaarin, smoothing her hair in the wake of that kiss to her head. "And no thanks necessary. It's been a forgiving kind of week."
