Assault on the Bastille
Date of Scene: 14 February 2025
Location:
Synopsis: Volken, Ellari, and Jorn escape the Bastille as riots break out within Sundari and the keep itself.
Cast of Characters: 159, 418, Ellari Zin, Volken Mons

Athena (159) has posed:
Thanks to Volken and the chaos unfolding above them, Ellari and Jorn will make it into the tunnels without much ado.

They'll definitely be able to feel the ground tremble at certain points, and feel dust shaking loose from the ceiling above them. It sounds like all of Sundari has erupted into rioting, with every Mandalorian for him or herself.

Jorn may notice that Revara has stopped trying to reach him - whether that's worrisome or a relief, though, remains to be seen.

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn just keeps pushing forward in the tunnels. The tremble shakes dust loose as it sounds like a small war unfolds above them. Right now, he's just focused on getting out. He can assess priorities then.

Yes, Revera concerns him, but that's a luxury he can't be concerned with at the moment. It will do no one any good if he worries about her. Once he's out of the utnnels -then- he will worry about her properly.

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari follows after Jorn, her weapons at the ready in case anyone tries to ambush them down here. Hopefully, he knows a way back to his ship without alerting anyone. However if the chaos is as bad as it sounds, maybe they have a chance...

Athena (159) has posed:
Eventually they'll reach an intersection of tunnels, with one leading towards the spaceport, and the others traveling west, towards downtown Sundari.

If Jorn wants to act upon the plan they'd formulated earlier regarding staging his death, he'll likely have to get nearer to his vessel.

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn goes toward the space port. He needs to get security footage. Something. Anything. Yet, there's a nagging feeling. A few of them. Not going toward the Sundari, what is probably waiting at port. Everything like that. It's a big cluster. When this is over, Jorn wants to see the person behind all this dead. Maybe their head on a pike. But, that's a problem for later. He needs to make it to that point first.

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari follows him quickly toward the port. "What are the odds the ones who know where your ship is are waiting for us there? Perhaps you should look for somewhere to hide down here, and I can claim you were lost in the tunnels."

Athena (159) has posed:
Up ahead, there's a commotion, above ground, of course.

They're nearing the spaceport, but at this point, going above ground seems like a risk. The floor beneath them shakes again, and a few small pebbles are shaken loose from the ceiling above them.

Maybe Ellari is right. But there is the matter of finding Revara and ensuring she was alright - She'd stopped responding about half an hour ago.

Jorn (418) has posed:
The ground continues to shake, "About forty percent. Maybe a little less if I'm lucky, and I haven't been very lucky lately. We need to get closer to the ship for multiple reasons," he starts to check his weapons. "Let me know when you're ready," Jorn will head up unless Ellari stops him. Because right now, this is risky, but the plan's solid when one removes all the fighting above them.

Ellari Zin has posed:
"We should wait for Volken at some point. He can help with this staging plan." Ellari points out. "We should find a damaged passage, pretend you were buried in it."

Athena (159) has posed:
Ahead, the tunnel trembles again, and the sound of thundering footsteps gets louder. And then, there's the sound of a hole being blown in the ground ahead of them. Well, now it looks like they may need to find an alternate route to the spaceport, and location to sync up with Volken.

Meanwhile, Volken will find himself in the middle of a warzone back at the Duke's Bastille. Heavily armed Mandalorians of varying political factions are tearing the Bastille apart, looking for Jorn...

Jorn (418) has posed:
"Other way," Jorn starts to move in the other direction on the double. Jorn will try to send a message, <All clear by you?> Short. Sweet. To the point. He presume "No." But maybe Luck would be on his side afterall.

Jorn starts to look for new options and Avenues now that the situation has decided for him. There's a pause. "Get anything that can do a sweep for bugs?" Jorn wonders if The Duke somehow tracked them. That explosions eems a little coindiental.

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari shakes her head, quickly turning and heading the other way. They needed to find Volken and somewhere to hole up for now. "You think someone anticipated we'd be down here even before the chaos erupted?"

She glances at her comlink, but then Jorn beats her to the punch. Volken -should- be fine, with his size...

Volken Mons has posed:
At this rate, without something to distract these fighters, it seems like they're not going to get out of this or get to the spaceport...

Volken sighs, looking around at the chaos and then sends a transmission to Ellari.

<<I'm going to collapse the ground level to bury the dungeons and claim I did it out of revenge for the loss of Thaelin's arms. That'll get them focusing on trying to dig for you. I hope you've gotten far enough away...>>

He begins tinkering with his vambraces, amping up his force gauntlets and connecting them to his energized knuckle dusters...creating a slow build up and whine of energy.

Then his deep voice bellows, "I"ve buried that hu'tunn alive for what he did to my friend! If any of you ures'ijaat fools have a problem with that you can take it up with me or dig through the rubble yourselves like Jawa through trash for that damn Saber!"

His backpack ignites, a huge plume of flame that sends him skywards briefly and then he twists, turning his weapons towards the ground and the direction of the dungeon entrances.

He opens fire, sending a loud *FWHOOOM* blowing through the air. A tremendous shockwave blasting down towards ground and then he drops down afterwards behind it, falling rapidly and bringing a massive fist down with his dusters charged up with the added force in order to try and add to the shockwave and truly collapse the ground level of the Baslicca into the dungeons.

Athena (159) has posed:
His presumption is probably right, but Reeve's lack of response will leave confirmation of her status up in the air.

Either way, they'll need to get going in some direction that isn't directly ahead of them, as the sound of multiple someones climbing down into the tunnel can be heard.

Volken's blow is.... devastating. The two watchtowers on either side of the entrance to the dungeons, which have already been compromised, tremble, and then come tumbling down as the ground directly below Volken's fists splits open as if the core of Mandalore itself had stirred and turnt over in its sleep. There are several strangled helpless cries as a number of those mobbing the Bastille are either knocked to the ground by the sheer force of the blow or knocked down by the falling debris.

Jorn and Ellari will feel it even where they stand. It worked! The tunnels behind them are caving in - but they'll have to dodge falling debris and stay ahead of the collapse if they don't want to be crushed themselves!

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari dashes away from the crumbling ceiling, finding herself darting to and fro several times. Some of the debris glances off of her armor, but thankfully in the end she's exhausted but not much the worse for wear. Hopefully, the partially collapsed tunnel would prove an obstacle to their pursuers.

Jorn (418) has posed:
"I'm thinking one of us is bugged somehow." Jorn says thinking on it. "You get a map of the place, figure out where we are, easy to figure out where we're going. How to cut us off, that sort of thing." And he's something Jorn would do were the boot on the other foot.

Jorn doesn't get the message Ellari got. "No response from the big guy." That gets the gears turning and not in the right way. "That's not-" and then thes ound goes off like thunder. The tunnels beneath them begin to collapse. It's a cacaphony of noise and other sensations. The ground's shaking, dust almost -constantly- falls from the ceiling. At one point he'll jump and try to roll. Hoping to be free of the collapse.

Thoughts of Volken's demise are quickly subdued. "That him?" he asks for clarity.

Volken Mons has posed:
Att he epic center of this..Volken remains crouched down, fist planted into the ground as his equpment sparks and shorts fro the overload and the force of the attack. He then slowly stands up and looks around. His expression can't be seen due to the helmet but his deep voie rumbles out with some surprise.

"Huh. That actually worked. I guess I dont' know my own strength."

He doens't bother to send out another comm link message else it potentially be intercepted and blow the whole idea of him doing what he did. He'll have to just hope they were fleet of foot enough to get far enough away and that his attack did the job in waylaying and confusing any pursuers.

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari nods. "He made good on his earlier word." she tells Jorn. "Hopefully most of them believe it. And hopefully, they'll believe me if I tell them you were lost."

She glances behind them, in case any of them got through. "Perhaps we should part ways for now. You should find somewhere to law low until the chaos dies down at least a bit. Then meet me aboard your ship...I could take it somewhere less conspicuous...."

Athena (159) has posed:
When the dust clears, at least they can no longer hear the sounds of their pursuers anymore. They were either crushed, or diverted, due to the collapsing tunnels.

Volken will find that he's ... cleared the area. If there are any lingering looters or members of the mob, well, they're either hiding or making haste in getting off the premises. The Duke is in safe hands, and it looks like the assault on the Bastille has quieted, but there's still the matter of rioting in the streets. If he plans to meet up with Ellari and Jorn, he'll have to buffet a few more Mandalorians aside.

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn looks pauses to hear the deafening silence. His gaze goes about the area trying to look for a new route. He's quick to not make any sound, but he will shoot Ellari a message. <I'm going silent for a moment. Shall we?>> They do need to assess the situation now. Because he doesn't know if there are stragglers or a massive amount of people shifting their attention to a more immediate situation.]

Ellari Zin has posed:
<Silent it is.> Ellari pings him back, and then starts looking for a way out of the tunnels, as it seems the chaos has at least mostly quieted for now...

Volken Mons has posed:
Well that worked -really- well. Better then he thought. It almost makes him recover some of his deflated sense of self since being back on Mandalore. That -might- not be a good thing for others but for the time being, he continues tampering with his equipment and then starts to make his way into the ruins of the Basillica - first intending on retrieving his twin heavy repeater cannons and then from there to start moving for the Spaceport.

<<Thaelin...>> he rumbles into the comms, <<How's your father?>>

If any one gets in his way, he doesn't hesitate to 'urge' them aside - but for now his focus is on getting fully armed and then heading for the spaceport.

<<Are you and your wife safe?>>

Athena (159) has posed:
Ellari and Jorn will discover that there's another tunnel that intersects the one they're in just a few steps ahead. If they turn left, they'll find that there's a fissure in the ceiling that seems to come up in an alleyway behind a dumpster. It seems like an ideal spot to come above ground.

<"He's alive> Thaelin responds after a couple of minutes. <"But it's not looking good. Vitals are stable, but he's comatose. The doctors don't know when, or if he'll wake."> There's a heavy, and uncomfortable pause. The boy was grieving, and Volken won't need the Force, or to be near him, to sense it in his tone of voice. <"We're safe. Damn. We haven't even gotten to exchange vows yet, sadly. Are you safe? Where are you? Has anyone found Jorn yet?>

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn will take that left, stopping. Wordless gestures come from Jorn how he's going to take the entry upward. Everything nice and slow. He's cautious before entering the alleyway, trying to get a good look before coming up. A hand iwll go into the hole to help up Ellari. It's the least Jorn can do right now.

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari takes the offered hand and steps up into the alleyway, carefully looking left and right to make sure the coast is clear before entering fully. Then she starts hurrying away toward the spaceport. Wherever Jorn chooses to go is up to him, but she figures it's best they don't get seen together...

Volken Mons has posed:
Volken pauses as he re-arms himself and heads for the streets. He could be honest about the plan or he coudl just lie. Thaelin's young and his mental state is obviouslys trained with what's happened...so..

<<I don't know where he is. Possibly buried alive. Or crushed to death. They may start trying to excavate the grounds looking for the Dark Saber. Stay out of sight for now and stay with your father. He might e comatose but that doesn't mean he can't hear you or sense you... ANything helps.>>

He doesn't -really- know where Jorn is so he's not exactly lying after all. Ellari and Jorn might not have made it out after all and he cut off radio contact with them for the time being.

Athena (159) has posed:
Thankfully, the coast is clear, and the way to the spaceport is obvious and direct - across the street. Ellari won't have any trouble crossing over without being seen. Jorn may follow her if he likes, but by now, it's been a suspicious amount of time since the last time he's spoken to Revara.

<"If you hear of him, will you let me know?"> There's a pause. <"My mother... she's coming. I don't know when she'll arrive, or whose side she'll take, or what she wants. But I thought you should know>

Most of the rioting in the street is in pockets, and those in his way will either move aside to let him pass because they're in no state to fight someone his size and stature, or they'll become distracted by some other conflict elsewhere.

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn will head toward the spaceport. On the move toward the spaceport the text messages will start to go to Revara <<Talk to me. I may have lost signal.>> He keeps moving with Ellari. Plus, he wants to use the ship to maybe reach Revara if it is a signal issue. Maybe try to track her with something she left behind.

Volken Mons has posed:
Volken had openly declared his wish to leave the planet several times so he hopes his own journey towards the spaceport won't raise any sort of suspicions or need to follow him. He does, however, keep as good a look out as he can for anyone that is attepting to trail him but given how people are avoiding him or distracted by other elements of the riot....it seems he's in the clear.

However, something does give him pause and he frowns as he hears Thaelin's message.

<<Your mother?>> he quiets abit....his mind starting to turn this way and that. Memory of past conversations coming back towards him. <<Oh.... Oh no... Standby..>>

A moment later and he's stopped by an alleyway and once again is sending a message - again to Ellaria nd not Jorn. A deliberate choice. <<...The mother is coming. Watch Jorn's back. I think...this is more comlicated then we think. Where is Revara?>>

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari was hurrying toward the port when the message came from Volken. She frowns, unsure what it meant, as she had not been part of that conversation he'd had with Thaelin. <<The mother...? Whose mother?>>

Given the coast is clear, she continues to Jorn's ship, glancing behind her to see if he'd decided to follow or lay low.

Athena (159) has posed:
Jorn and Ellari will have to exercise a bit more stealth once they reach the spaceport, as there's less rioting but definitely other Mandalorians milling about, looking guarded.

As for Revara, there will still be no response. That couldn't mean anything good...

<"Yes. She's going to try to tilt things in her favor. Be warned..."> Thankfully, no one tails Volken to the spaceport, but he might find the urge to momentarily stray from his beeline to the spaceport if he notices that one of the barons is watching the street below from the balcony of a nearby building. However, if Volken spots him, he'll turn and duck back into the structure.

Eventually, Jorn and Ellari will reach the spot where Jorn's ship had been previously, only to find that... it's not there!! However, there are some lingering spaceport officials nearby, so perhaps they can shed light on the situation.

Volken Mons has posed:
Volken hears Thaelin but doesn't respond. If anything it simply adds to his paranoia and conspiracy fuel.

<<Thaelin's and Revara's mother! The one that Revara's been acting crazy about, trying to please and get in her favor! Didn't I tell you? She probably wants the Darksaber! I be they've all been working together. Don't you remember how obessed Caine was with Revara? >>

Volken's voice raises furiously as he addresses Ellari, forgetting that Ellari was never involved in those conversations.

In fact - Volken had -attempted- to talk to Jorn..to warn him about this and the mother and Revara but even that was stymied by Revara hovering near and the word of the death of old man Vizsla.

<<Keep Revara away from Jorn until--!>>

He sees the Baron.. pretty much dead on. His massive repeater guns begin charging up, whirring to life and he turns from his path to start moving after the Baron. "Hey!" he bellows, deep voice echoing furiously. "Hold it!"

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn doesn't try to make himself look sneaking. Sometimes the best way to sneak is to make it look like you belong. Maybe not bring all the eyes on you, but to just act like you belong. It helps someone become a background character to an otherwise moving image. That's how he tries to get by.

And then they make a turn. The ship is gone! That's a complication. Jorn will try to get a remote signal from here.

Ellari Zin has posed:
<<You didn't tell me, no...but yes, I remember how obsessed he was with Revara.>> Ellari replies. And then Volken is suddenly shouting at someone above. Her gaze follows his, catching a glimpse of the baron just as he ducks out of sight. Hmph. Well, that was suspicious. Why wasn't he out here, rioting with everyone else?

She glances to Jorn once they find the ship missing, since he should have some kind of tracking on it. "Maybe you should consider finding another set of armor, or painting yours differently."

Athena (159) has posed:
This does not bode well for the baron, but naturally, he does not heed Volken at all. He'll go inside, disappearing from view. But the establishment is a public forge, so there's nothing stopping him from just barging in the front door and going after the baron before he escapes completely.

Jorn will find that there's kind of scrambling frequency jamming his remote signal. He might recognize it - it's one often used by local enforcement to stop a ship from illegally being summoned while impounded. Right. He's Mandalore's #1 Most Wanted man right now, and the baron must have spread information about which ship was his around Sundari already.

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn begins to work at the controls. Elari can see him struggle a little bit. He's working the controls, but how holds himself. There's no motion frustration, or anything frantic. Just a couple of repeat taps, a few tentative ones elsewhere. It's like he's getting a feel for something.

<It's landlocked. Probably in impound,>> His attention turns to the guards. <<They probably won't disclose the information to me.>> He thinks Ellari may be able to get that knowledge. She's not wanted by many people afterall.

Volken Mons has posed:
<<Thaelin was explaining to me why Revara was acting the way she did... Their mother is a piece of work apparently. I think this is all too lined up. Until you're sure Revara is clean you shouldn't let her get tooc lose to Jorn. GIven what Thaelin said... it's reasonable to expect that their mother is after the Dark Saber...and might use Revara to try and get it. THis might have been the goal all along. Think about it. The marriage proposal....>>

He wishes he could share this with Jorn directly but if what he's guessing at is even half true - there's the chance anything Jorn hears, Revara might hear. <<If she's innocent this 'll be her chance to prove it. I'm going after one of the twins now...>>

He does indeed make his way through the forge, thundering in in pursuit of the Baron. No good to open fire here but he doesn't slow down, seeking to use his long stride to close the distance and catch up to the Baron. Unfortunantely this is taking him further away from where the others are but..sacrifices.

"I said stop!" he booms again.

Ellari Zin has posed:
<<Let's find it, then.>> Ellari concludes. They don't need to take off, they just need to get inside.

She turns on her heel and starts heading for the shipyard where impounded vessels are kept. Volken's messages are noted, but she doesn't respond immediately. Too many potential prying eyes around here. However, she also doesn't believe Revara should be trusted.

Athena (159) has posed:
The baron does no such thing. As soon as Volken comes in the front, he'll see the baron emerge from the lift. And when the baron lays eyes on Volken, he immediately turns and starts running for the back door!

Thankfully the shipyard where impounded vessels go isn't very far from the spaceport, and no one will take notice of Ellari and Jorn heading there. However, the gate to the yard is closed when they arrive, guarded by several local Mandalorian law enforcement. They could try to sneak in, somehow, or Ellari could play diplomat and schmooze their way in...

Ellari Zin has posed:
Hmm...Ellari frowns, considering whether it would be best to attempt to distract t them, or just try to find a more stealthy way in.

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari hurries toward the guards, waving frantically and trying to look worried. "Guards! I saw a suspicious individual lurking around the west entrance. Is there supposed to be a patrol over there?" Hopefully Jorn will get the memo to take advantage of the situation and slip away to the -opposite- side...

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn thinks it's better to talk to someone. Even trying to give points. However, he's not a diplomat. The advice he gives may not. He tries to just stick to his guns. Thinking words may be better than a blaster for once. So, he tries to figure out a plan. Something they could tell, a way to sell them on the idea.

Volken Mons has posed:
So the Baron is a touch faster. He always was a little slimy and hard to pin down...

"Fine.." grumbles Volken. He's wearing the armor of a Mandalorian - so why not use its gifts?

As Caine continues to increase the distance beetween himself and the massive Mandalorian, Volken stretches out one of his arms and triggers the whipcord install on one of the vambraces, sending it hurtlign outward for Caine's legs - attempting to snag him and trip him before the Baron can escape through the back door.

Athena (159) has posed:
Ellari may recognize one of the guards - he's an old flame of hers, back when they were both teenagers. He'd be rather obsessed with her, but he'd lacked social graces and came from a family notorious for their financial debt. "Ellari?" he says, sounding shocked. "It's been forever...!" Looks like Jorn and Ellari might not have to try too hard to sell an idea to this man, he's ready to listen to whatever Ellari has to say. "Well, there was, but then the riots broke out and they must have abandoned their post!! We'll go have a look now!" He gestures for the other guards to come with him, although they seem a bit suspicious of Ellari and reluctant to go with him. However, they comply eventually.

The whipcord lashes out, but the baron lunges forward in a desperate attempt to escape it, and miraculously! He evades Volken once again.

All is not lost, though - the baron has escaped out into the street but hasn't disappeared from view. However, if Volken wants to continue pursuing him, he'll have to barrel through a small brawl that's broken out in the alleyway behind the public forge...

Jorn (418) has posed:
"Friend of yours?" Jorn asks and then he looks back to Ellari as the guards seem to be sold. It's not a quick sale. There seems to be some buyer's remorse to come from the guards. He's just happy that Ellari seems to have good luck.

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari nods. In all honesty, she vaguely recalls seeing this guy before, and doesn't remember his name at all. However, she feigns familiarity. "I do wish this meeting were under better circumstances, but it is good to see you again. I'll show you where I saw him..." she glances briefly Jorn's way with a quick nod as she starts heading toward the other side of the shipyard with the guards in tow. This was his opportunity to discreetly get inside.

Volken Mons has posed:
"Out of the way!"

Volken's deep voice explodes into the air as the behemoth barrels into the alleyway and secures both of his gigantic repeater guns onto either side of him as he rushes forward, heedless of the brawl taking place infront of him. His eyes are set on Caine and one way or another, he's going to catch up to him.

And so, those fighting in the streets, may soon look up and see an eight foot plus, nearly seven hundred pound mountain, hurtling in towards them with all the grace of an army of rampaging Dowutin. He's no interest in joining the fight. He's simply trying to barrel through.

Athena (159) has posed:
The guard seems spellbound by Ellari, and that she's paying attention to him. "I--I-- Me too!" he stammers awkwardly, "Of course! Thank you. I greatly appreciate this. Perhaps we could visit the cantina down the street together again at some point, maybe after all this political turmoil has quieted down?" he follows her like a strill pup, with the other guards reluctantly in tow.

Jorn may find that he's in luck today. The guards had left the door to the lobby for the impounding office a crack open. And the guards, well, they're not watching him anymore.

Volken steamrolls through the small throng of mobbing Mandalorians with relative ease. Some will manage to throw themselves aside just in time, while the others are knocked flat to their backs. The massive Mandalorian will notice the baron taking to the air now via his jetpacks. But a few from the mob he's flattened are rather unhappy with him, and attempt to attack Volken!

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn just quietly says a prayer then sends out another message. <<Respond.>> It's to Revara. Yes, he expects no response from her. Still, it's the hail mary type of motion. It would be great if it bore fruit, but he's not hopeful.

Volken Mons has posed:
Well it's to be expected. They're Mandalorians and he didn't hit them hard enough to send them sailing over buildings.

But Volken Mons is Volken Mons and as a result he's not one to act in a restraind and balanced manner. So when the Mandalorian brawler gets lucky enough to take a shot at him and thorw him off of his chase, he spins around after stumbling a few steps and whirls, turning around angrily to reach a support pillar sized arm out to try and seize the Mandalorian in question.

If he's able to, he turns, spinning around with him and then he attempts to send the Mandolorian flying like a living missile in the direction of the fleeing Baron to try and knock him from the sky!

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari looks pensive for a moment, then nods. "Hm, yes perhaps, after all of this is over...if the outcome is both peaceful and favorable." she tells him. Upon arriving on the other side, she frown and mock-squints at the wall near a series of small cracks and scuff marks along the ground.

"I thought I saw him around here somewhere..."

Athena (159) has posed:
Still no response from Revara. After this was all over, he might have to go look for her. But Jorn should probably hop to on searching for his impounded ship, Ellari's distraction won't last forever.

"R-Really?" the guard stammers, while his peers look on in a disgruntled and judgmental fashion. "I.. I'm flattered," he says, barely realizing that Ellari is talking to him about something else entirely. The others seem annoyed though, and impatient. "There's nothing here," they grumble. "And I don't see any traces of anyone having been here..."

But when Volken goes to pick up the attacking offender, he'll discover the fellow is stronger and heavier than he'd anticipated. Not only that, but as soon as Volken grabs him, he shoots his own whipcord into the stone foundation of a nearby building, preventing Volken from hurling him.

"How dare you!" he bellows. Then he aims his own blaster at Volken and opens fire!

Ellari Zin has posed:
"Yes, really." Ellari tells him, although she sounds a bit distracted as she is still frowning at the spot. "Hmph, I could have sworn I saw someone here. There are some tracks here, but I suppose those could have just been made by a womp rat." she sighs, rubbing her forehead.

Volken Mons has posed:
The blaster fire thuds against Volken's armor, sending sparks flying in several directions. It blasts into his thickly muscled shoulder, rippling the muscle there and scorcing the flesh like an errant tattoo gone wrong.

Volken barely blinks. He instead slowly turns to face the offending Mandalorian, releasing him slightly and emitting a low rumbling breathing sound that vibrates through the air as he stares down the warrior who, despite his added weight and size, is still undoubtly swamped by the genetically enhanced behemoth who looms infront of him.

He then wordlessly turns away and liftsh is arm up. A high pitched whine builds up as he recharges up his repulsor gauntlets, trying to take careful aim at the fleeing baron while starting to take a few steps away from the other Mandolorian., A careful aim and then a blast of pure force erupts from his outstretched vambraec to go hurtling towards the airborne aristocrat with several volleys unleashed at him.

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn scrambles to the office the office and that's when he starts to look for any manifesto or documentation about the impounded ships. Recent recoveries along with the model of the ship. That's what he's searching for today. He figures the ship has to be more recent. Still, he can't go back too far. At the same time he can't keep it to just today either. So, the search may be quickened, but Jorn is still trying to be thorough despite the time crunch.

Athena (159) has posed:
The guard doesn't reply. He seems to be in shock that Ellari is agreeing to spend time with him. The other guards groan, their irritation growing. "What do you mean, a womp rat?? You'd know the difference between a person and a womp rat, if you had any kind of brains!" One of them steps towards her, his hand on his blaster. "Was this a ruse?"

Jorn will immediately be able to identify a console that has a log of all the impounded vehicles in detention currently. As he scrolls past the entries for today, he'll be able to hear the guards starting to sound rather unhappy with Ellari...

The other Mandalorian warrior is about to attack Volken again but then another member of the mob attacks him, and he is effectively distracted. However, the delay has given the baron time to put space between himself and Volken, enough that Volken's repulsor blast just barely misses him!

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari scoffs at their questions, her demeanor suddenly becoming irritated. "No utreekov, I meant the tracks. I -know- what I saw." she insists, folding her arms. "Have you even -begun- searching at all? How can you say this is a ruse when you haven't even tried looking yet?"

Volken Mons has posed:
He would have welcomed the brawl. He almost took the swing but what little bit of focus and loyalty he has kept him on Caine and the man is getting away regardless. Volken almost turns towards the man but he notes him being taken in by the ongoing brawl...and so continues onward after Caine....going into a full sprint to try and close the distance.

<<Ellari. I've been pursuing Caine. I caught the Baron lurking nearby, sneaking around. I think he's in on whatever's happening. Keep an eye on Jorn. This is all smelling like a set up like I said earlier!. I'm going to see exactly where he's going...>>

His transmission is brief and to the point and he continues onward but he doesn't take a shot just yet. Caine can't run forever after all.

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn's searching and then he sighs hearing the voices. Pulling out a blaster pistol, he sets it on stun. Leaning out of the area he's in, he fires off some shots. Trying to buy himself time and create a little more distance. The place will be swarming he needs to find the ship, get to it and still set off the trap. They may not have time to talk. Either way, diplomacy seems to be done.

Athena (159) has posed:
"We followed you here, and you have nothing to show us, and no evidence that anyone even intruded. Also, you're House Vizsla," he replies. "And--" And then Jorn's blaster shot finds his back, and he collapses.

"Aruetyc woman!" his companion cries out, and pulling out his blaster, he turns and starts running back towards the lobby! Jorn is out of time!

But his search will have yielded a result at least. The log shows his ship is indeed impounded, on the southwestern side of the ship detention center, quadrant D16. It's a bit of a walk (or run, at this point), but at least Jorn knows where to go now.

Volken will see that Caine is heading east, towards downtown Sundari, where many of the secondary residences of the rich and influential Mandalorians is located...

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari immediately draws her own blasters and fires at the other guard as he rushes toward Jorn's position. She glances at the other one, the one who had been fawning over her, with an expectant look. "Well, are you going to help me or not? If things go our way today, that will make it all the more likely everything will work out in our favor at the end. And if that happens, I should think one would be much more inclined to enjoy a drink or two in celebration with...allies."

Jorn (418) has posed:
"D16," Jorn grunts and just keeps the blasters at the ready now. Drawing a second. "Is he friendly?" Jorn nods to the crush. Yes, those sweet honeyed words come off in a good way, but Jorn's making sure there won't be a blaster bolt to the back. He's had enough of those, metaphorically speaking. Once he has the answer Jorn just starts to book it toward the destination: D16.

Volken Mons has posed:
Home. So he's likely flying home and back to his allies. Volken is foolhardy and monumentally tough but even he knows that attempting to go alone into a place where Caine is most likely to have many many allies and weapons would be the height of folly. However between the brawling that slowed him down nad Caine's height it seems unlikely he'll catch up with him...unless...

"Tth..I warned him.." he rumbles before unshouldering one of his massive repeating blasters. He hefts the man sized weapon into one arm, biceps bulging like veined boulders as he hefts it up and braces it to take careful aim, targetting the backback of the retreating baron and squinting his eyes. The repulsor gauntlets were a kinder effort. Now it's shoot him down or let him get away.

"Come down to big buir, little birdy.." he rumbles before opening fire wiht a volley of bolts that go lancing across the skies.

Athena (159) has posed:
"...."

The guard is too shocked to react, especially when Ellari guns down the other guard while he's running back to the lobby. But then after a moment, he slowly inclines his head. "Whatever you wish, my... lady," he says, holstering his blaster. He stares at Jorn for a moment. The very man who'd stolen the Dark Saber! But he doesn't say anything to Jorn, or try to attack him. He just follows Ellari, looking like a lost strill pup.

The three of them won't encounter much trouble at first, but once they reach the D sector, they'll find themselves running into more guards with blasters a plenty!

Volken starts shooting at the baron again, and he dodges the first volley. The second volley grazes his armor and knocks him slightly off course, but ultimately does not bring him down. Volken will be able to see that he's approaching a massive keep, guarded by droids and other sentries. He'd better bring the baron down quick...

Volken Mons has posed:
So one repeater isn't enough.

The twin weapon is brought forth now, settled into Volken's other arm as he begins dual wielding the massive weapons and then sets off into a thundering street shaking charge down the road to try and close the distance between himself and the Baron. This is clearly the last shot he's going to get before hte baron gets too close to the keep to risk any sort of confrontation.

As he runs, he leaps upwards - landing atop a parked transport vehicle and from there his massive legs press down and then spring, launching him into the air towards a nearby low rooftop in order to clear distance. His backback fires once, pushing his massive frame even higher from there. His weight is far too vast for reliable flight but it should give him a clearer shot at the Baron before he plummets downwrd towards the streets again.

Both repeater blasters open fire, sending a spray of attacks volleying forth at Caine to try and put him to the ground one way or another!

Ellari Zin has posed:
Once those two guards are taken care of, Ellari hangs back a bit, hoping Jorn can get to where he needs to go without attracting any more attention. She smirks at the guard who seems to be stricken with her. "Excellent, I'm finding myself impressed with your loyalty." A pause. "Why don't you contact the others, and tell them that everyone has been ordered to help with quelling the chaos in the streets?" She ignores his comment about Jorn.

At this point, she checks her commlink and sees the message from Volken. A response is sent: <<Be wary, don't chase him too far into his own territory. You may be large, but you aren't a one man army. I know where he is likely to run, or at least I have enough ideas on how to find him.>>

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn tries to open up the ship door. He's trying to make sure this isn't rigged. That's thing one. Afterward, he tries to to a sweep to make sure nothing is left behind. What he wants is to get to the observation. To see the security holovids. Right now, it's trying to find anything around the time of the encounter. That's the goal, the hope. Something that can clear his name.

Athena (159) has posed:
The massive Mandalorian's shots ring true finally, and the volley knocks one of the baron's thrusters out. He then nosedives, crashing onto the ground a block away from the large keep he'd been heading for. "You... fool!!" he groans. "You ... we.. cannot allow the Dark Saber to fall into Lady Solstice's hands!"

"..." The guard stands there, shocked at Ellari's request. But then he just inclines his head. "A-as you wish, my Lady." He then picks up his comm, and tells the guards to back off.

It isn't rigged, but it looks like the authorities had put a lock on the gangplank and most of the visible viewports, Jorn will try to pick the lock open, but it only partially budges. However, he may remember that the ventilation shafts permit him access to the ship. A non traditional means to get in, but it works. The issue is the camera that had the security holo vids of that fateful time the baron had boarded his ship is damaged... he can either try to repair it himself, or perhaps ask Ellari if she knows someone who could fix it for a reasonable fee...

Volken Mons has posed:
"I know that." growls out Volken as he stalks forward. "What, do you want to try and sell it again? Or you got somethin' else to share? Talk!"

Volken stalks forward and reaches for Caine to try and grab him and yank him up.

"If you didn't try and -run- from me and just told me the truth up front then mebee I"d be more inclined to listen but you're to busy doing all...-this-! Who put the Dark Saber on Jorn's ship! Don't act like I dont' know it wasn't you or yer brother! Make sense of this craziness!"

He balls his massive hand up as he speaks, ready to send it crashing into Caine's head if need be.

Ellari Zin has posed:
"Perfect." Ellari says with a nod. "I am lucky you happened to be here, it seems. Now, if you could just stay here for a bit, and if anyone comes back, make sure to stall them as much as you can."

Then she turns and heads toward where she thought she saw Jorn heading. She needed to join him at his ship...

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn looks over the security visions and he groans loudly. "It's damaged. I can try to do this myself, but do you know an expert" Jorn asks Ellari and then he starts to work on the communications. Trying to reach out Revara as he keeps the holovid feed there for now.Right now, he's not touching it. A pause, "Unless you or your associate know something about fixing the feed?" he asks, wondering if luck is upon their side again.

Athena (159) has posed:
"No--!" The baron grunts when Volken lifts him up. Surprisingly, he doesn't struggle that much. "If I told you truth you wouldn't believe me," he says, "but it wasn't me."

Then he suddenly pulls a mid sized dagger and aims to plunge it into the arm holding him hostage.

"Ah.. Right. Yes, my lady. I'll see you at the cantina maybe next week?" But she's already walking away, heading to where Jorn is.

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari doesn't reply to him, but hurries to the ship as Jorn is groaning over the broken databanks. Now, that seemed rather convenient. "Impounding doesn't normally involve vandalism." she remarks. "The hull isn't damaged, which means that -someone- came in here and intentionally destroyed the footage. We should see if the authorities have footage from outside the ship in the past few hours."

Volken Mons has posed:
"This is stupid and you're wasting time. Tell me the -truth-." demands Volken - just as the dagger comes out. He's managed to shrug off blaster bolts but either Caine is just that lucky, the knife that good, or the proximity of them is aiding him - but the dagger strikes home and sinks into the flesh of the giants immense arm. The shock of the strike forces him to let go of Caine - but also triggers a flash of red rage in him. His blood boiling as his temper rises and his berserker nature begins to rear its head.

So he responds with an energized charged shot from his other arm. HIs knuckle dusters crackling to life as he brings his fist around to try and slam it into Caine's head to attempt to bear the Baron down to the ground.

Jorn (418) has posed:
Nodding in complete agreement, "Yes. It does. Starting to believe me now?" Jorn asks her as he knows Ellari isn't fully on his side. Yes, she's helping, but there's still some doubt. Well, maybe that doubt is erroding.

"I still need to figure out how to contact Revara." He tries to use the ships signal to possibly get a read on her, hit her with the comlink, anything to possibly get a signal. This is not his next move, but three moves down the line.

He'll do everything possible before urgency demands his attention gets divided. Jorn leaves the terminal behind. "Back to where I was?" he asks. It's frustrating to know that he was -just- there. Had he known this, Jorn would have done double duty.

Athena (159) has posed:
While Jorn and Ellari discuss what to do next, a familiar voice calls from down the hallway. "Ah, Ellari... ah... there's a bit of a problem... the guards want reasons for why we're both protecting a wanted man and criminal in the eyes of Mandalore... I don't have a reason...the two of you should probably get out of here, sooner rather than later..."

The baron rolls to the side as Volkens' knuckledusters come down, but he isn't quick enough to completely avoid the blow. The knuckledusters knock him sideways, and scrape the blue paint off his beskar helmet. "It wasn't me!!" he rages. "You have... the wrong Mandalorian!!" He stumbles to his feet and starts bolting for the keep at the end of street. "Guards!!! I'm here to see Revara," he shouts, "let... let me in!"

Volken Mons has posed:
"Then tell me who it was! I told you before that I'm -not- Ellari and I'm -not- Khalo Fett. When you deal with me the wrong way you don't get to just -walk away-!"

Volken reaches out, attempting to snatch hold of Caine and yank him back towards him, guards or no guards. Seemingly bordering onto a rage now unless somone can talk him down.

He doesn't even bother to remove the knife. "TELL ME WHAT IS GOING ON!"

He attempts to wrap his massive arm around Caine and pull him back into a crushing choke hold by bringing him against his body, pinning him with an arm likely as big around as the mans waist. If not bigger.

"NOW!"

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn points the blasters toward the familiar source, skulking toward the source. He's not sure what to expect. It's been that kind of day. The non-lethal option still primed. He waits to hear back fromthe voice. To see the source exactly and not just presume it's someone.

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari shrugs. "It doesn't matter. I'm helping you now, don't question it."

When he starts trying to contact Revara, she puts a hand on his arm firmly, trying to pull him away from the console. "Don't. She's not to be trusted. She is close to the Von'egel twins, after all. For all we know, she was complicit in this, and perhaps she was even the one who planted the Darksaber. We both know she would've had ample opportunity to do so. And do you think she would've thought once about the consequences of her actions?" That was a rhetorical question no doubt.

"Now, we need to look for other evidence..." But then her new "friend" warns her that he can't buy any more time. "Never mind that for the moment, why don't you use the saber to destroy the impounding clamps so that we can get out of here, then continue the search somewhere safer and quieter...perhaps offworld..."

Athena (159) has posed:
The baron chokes slightly. "Who do you... think," he gasps. "Who else can commit crimes in my name... without hiding his face ... and no one would think otherwise?" It may dawn on Volken that Caine had a twin brother, Kasseady, who was just as despicable. So then the question is, is he lying, or did Kasseady steal the saber?

The guards are running up now, shouting. "Who goes there! Who clamors at Solstice Keep's gates?"

"Let me in!" Caine groans. "Revara ... permits me to see her."

Volken may be thinking of continuing his brutal interrogation of the baron, but then Revara and a tall woman who has the same piercing green eyes as the former approach. "What's this?" she says, her tone of voice sly. "Do have we have another liar? Perhaps I can help you."

"E-Ellari? What's going on? I can't keep excusing you...?"

Volken Mons has posed:
Intrigue and politics.. This is not Volken's arena. It is not his strength. He hates this.

His grip tightens on Caine, as if he wants to unleash a surge of strength that will crush the man through his very beskar armor..

But then he relaxes and releases him. The jig is up. The guards are there as is mother and daughter. This isn't a fight he can win.

He roughly shoves Caine, letting him loose and then just turns to look at the others as they approach, saying nothing for the moment.

Jorn (418) has posed:
Putting away the guns, Jorn puts away one blaster. Taking out the dark sabre. It thrums to life, with a "prrrtt!" Instantly the blade is heavy in his hands. All of the conflicting emotions makes the blade heavy. Dragging the blade across the ground, he brings it down onto one of the locks. "Cover me!" he strains then pushes forward.

Going for another lock, he brings it down. If the emotions are clear then the blade would be so much easier to use. For now, heavy is the hand that wields the blade. The blade buzzes a bit before summoning the blade back into the hilt.

Ellari Zin has posed:
As Jorn heads out to take down the clamps, Ellari goes to the controls, ready to get out of there as soon they are free and he is back on the gangway. As such, she starts firing up the takeoff thrusters.

"Just stall as long as you can." she replies to her new friend. "It's all I can ask. And thank you for everything."

Athena (159) has posed:
The woman with the green eyes standing next to Revara smirks and chuckles when Volken lets go of Caine and shoves him forward. The gates open, and allow the baron inside the keep. He stumbles in, running to Revara.

"I haven't seen you around here before," the woman says to Volken. "Tell me, what clan do you hail from?"

When Jorn starts cutting away at the clamps securing his ship to the ground, the guard who had been spellbound by Ellari cries out, "There's no need! I can... I can release them," he says. He holds up a wrist and presses a few buttons on the device attached to his gauntlet, which releases the rest of the locks. The other guards are flabbergasted. "Sir?! What is the meaning of this? He is the one everyone's looking for!"

Some of them have already decided that their supervisor has gone mad and have drawn their weapons, aiming to shoot at Jorn.

"Wait!" the guard cries, but the others aren't listening to him anymore!

Volken Mons has posed:
"...Volken of House Mons." says the giant after a heavy beat of silene as he looks back at the woman. He's dirty, banged up and ...still has a knife sticking out of his shoulder which he isn't even attending to or paying attention to. So the contrast is pretty stark, let alone his towering size.

"I'm in your sons wedding party." he says after another pause, tone very even. "Thaelin? He and Revara know me well..."

He finally reaches up and roughly removes the knife, seeming to remember it is there, and he absently looks it over beore holding it up to see if any guard will take it to return it to Caine.

"This is his."

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn pushes past the pain as the blaster his him in the left shoulder. Wincing, he just soldiers onward onto the gangplank. Sighing, he puts the blade on his hip. "Your friend didn't hold off his buddies long enough," he gruffs, but that's the pain talking. Sitting down, he gets amoment to actually rest, clear his head.

Ellari Zin has posed:
As soon as the clamps are off and Jorn is safely aboard, thanks to the new unnamed friend, Ellari lifts off out of the shipyard. Once they were safely away from the mobs, -then- they could start properly looking for evidence.

"He did his best, Mandalorians aren't stupid. Most of us, anyway..."

Athena (159) has posed:
"Well met," The lady says, with a bewitching smile. "Oh you know Thaelin? Wonderful. Any friend of my son, is a friend of mine," she says. "And I'm certain he's honored to have you in his wedding party. Now, perhaps you'd like come in, have a bite to eat and a hot hydroshower?" She turns to the guards. "Leave the gate open," she says, "Volken, clan Mons, welcome. You may enter Solstice Keep at your leisure." Then she turns and heads back inside the keep, not waiting for Volken's response, as the guards push the gates open wider.

The baron's eyes widen in horror, and Revara seems displeased as well, but she helps the baron limp away into the inner courtyard of the keep.
