Guests on Tenoo
Date of Scene: 28 August 2025
Location: Kublop Springs - Tenoo - Outer Rim
Synopsis: Mandalorians arrive on Tenoo.
Cast of Characters: 159, Pike Windu, 418, Navi, Cayde Alexis, Ellari Zin, Zetha Rumir, Volken Mons

Athena (159) has posed:
With their arrival on the Outer Rim planet Tenoo imminent, the Mandalorians aboard the Amber Clad may feel anxious, impatient, annoyed, or uncertain. Or, they may feel a mixture of all those emotions as the green, verdant planet looms into the viewport of their vessel. Who knew what awaits them on the planet below - it seems hardly inhabited. Their scanners suggest that the planet is anything but densely populated. At least Master Volk had been mindful when he'd thought of a place to send Jorn that's likely not on anyone's radar.

There is a spaceport, at least, so the Amber Clad will likely start to descend towards it as soon as it reaches Tenoo's orbit.

Meanwhile, below, a small party of colonists has gathered at the spaceport, to await the Mandalorians arrival. Xera Graf, Taryn San Tekka, and the doctor stand off to the side -they look visibly uncomfortable, waiting for them to arrive.

Master Rykard stands a good distance away, the expression he's wearing distant and unreadable. This is the first time anyone's seen him in days - and in the week that had passed since the witch's disappearance and the Jedi's return, the elder Ikkrukki looks like he's aged years.

Pike Windu has posed:
Master Windu stares up at the sky, his hands clasped behind his back, his face untroubled.

Jorn (418) has posed:
While apprehension may run rampant on the Mando side, Jorn sleeps. Having what feels like a planet wanting to kill you, sweating small anxieties seems small. This allows him to work on his relationship with sleep. Sleep runs from him when Jorn is on Mando. The pair need to reconnect in other moments. Besides, he has one thing on his side. Not everyone on -this- planet wants to kill him. The sleep is dreamless. The sleep is short. Yet, every minute of it is cherished.

Navi has posed:
Navi stands near Masters Rykard and Windu, gazing up at the sky, hands clasped idly behind her back. "This ought to be interesting," she muses. "It'll be nice to see someone who isn't trying to backstab or kill us. At least, not yet."

Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde is standing with his master near the port, feeling somewhat anxious but doing his best not to show it. Well anyway it's not because of the Mandalorians' arrival. He'd met one, once before back on Coruscant and on Jedha. That guy was -huge-. Were they all that big now? Suppose he'll find out soon.

Ellari Zin has posed:
As Ellari maneuvers her ship toward the space port on the lush and mostly unpopulated planet below, she pings the intercoms in the compartment where Jorn is sleeping to get him up.

<< You awake? We're almost there, so you should probably get least get your armor on so you don't look like you just rolled out of bed. >>

Zetha Rumir has posed:
Something is going on at the spaceport. Being close enough, Zetha can hear the ship as it breaks through the atmo in order to come in for a landing. She decides she's curious enough to see what's going on but not curious enough to just show up all unannounced and uninvited to stick her lekku into other people's business. That's not going to stop her from rolling out of her hammock, running to the side of the junkyard closest to the spaceport and climbing on top of one of the taller junked ships where she knows she has a good view. But maybe she carries a pair of barely-held-together binoculars with her.

Volken Mons has posed:
Volken is not anxious.

He is highly irritated and annoyed. This has been his state of mind for some time now. This has probably -contributed- to Jorn's anxiousness though. Volken isn't exactly a pleasent traveling partner when he's fuming....

When the finally arrive, he's first off the ship, massive body practically filling up the airlock and ducking low to step out into the open of the spaceport with both of his enormous repeater cannons swinging heavily at his sides. His expression is naturally hidden by his helmet but his body language essentially screams 'Try Me At Your Peril'.

But he's at least getting better at using his words first and not his fists.

"Let's get this over with. We've got some time at least. They're not really concerned about the Dark Saber right now and are distracted back at Sundari. Thaelin doesn't even think we should bother to come back but whatever. This better be worth it..."

Athena (159) has posed:
Arriving late are the two Arkanian medical researchers that Pike figured may be trouble at some point, Terrin and Vaneya. "Master Windu," Terrin greets the elder Jedi. "You may be pleased to hear we've made significant advancements in our research. It may be possible after all, with the help of the vergence, to regrow organs, and even limbs, for species that do not regenerate," he informs.

Rykard glances at Cayde briefly, giving him a faint but sad smile. Then he gestures for Navi to come over as well. "My padawan," he says, "I have news for the both of you. The Republic has decided to allow both of you to be deputy marshals. As for myself... I must realign myself with the Force. And I must be alone to do this. I am sorry to saddle both of you with so much responsibility, but it could be an opportunity for growth... for change..." Then he looks up to see the Mandalorian vessel, the Amber Clad, arriving. He nods to the two of them. "Let's go," he says wearily, "we must see to our... guests..."

Volken may be a bit surprised to find that there are more familiar faces at the spaceport than he may have expected. For one, that young man he'd run into at the San Tekka mansion on Naboo is here. And he immediately recognizes the Mandalorian behemoth. "Y-you!!?" he splutters, incredulous. "What--What in the name of light are you -doing- here? My servants told me you were an entertainer for children's birthday parties, why, I ought to send you a bill--!"

And standing next to him, surprise, surprise, is the auburn haired bureaucrat from Canto Bight, Xera Graf herself. Her brows furrow ever so slightly when she notices Volken, but her expression remains immaculate otherwise.

Pike Windu has posed:
Master Windu does not look at all pleased. He does manage a dry, "fascinating."

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn will rise from his spot and start to armor up. Getting everything suited up. Putting on the armor plates. Pausing, he'll stare at one weapon he keeps on him. To him, it means the world. To the world, it's a useless gun that doesn't function. Even by trophy standards, it's crappy.

He'll grab the two pieces that actually work. Check them like routine. All practiced motions from what feels like a lifetime of use. Finally, he comes to a single hilt. Part of the pommel is angular. To some, it's everything. To others, it's the weight of the world that can fit in someone's hand. The Darkblade. He'll put it back in its hiding spot.

Once fully dressed his finger hovers over the comlink. It stays there for a long moment, the thing has been off for a while now. "GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Jorn screams as the fingers move away and he punches a wall. Deep down Jorn hates the fact he can't trust people that would be on the other end of this thing. That stings. Perhaps more than actually being hunted down.

Heavy foot falls anounce Jonr's arrival as he walks in like nothing happened. A simple dress change and nothing more.

Navi has posed:
Navi joins Master Rykard, with a worried glance at Master Windu. "I'm hoping that's good news, Master. At least now the Doctor can actually see me watching Cayde's back. It might buy me a few less dumb lectures."

She watches the ship set down, and the ramp descend. And also the bureaucrat's reaction to the Mandalorian giant descending the ship's ramp. It can only be one person...

"Hello again, Volken Mons," she says, waving to him. "I hadn't expected to see you here, but welcome to Kublop Springs spaceport. It's probably the most popular place on Tenoo." She lowers her voice a little. "Mostly because the shuttles off of Tenoo leave from here."

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari heard a faint thump back there, and...was Jorn screaming at a wall? << You all right back there? >> she asks into the intercom. But she doesn't wait for an answer before beginning to disembark.

She too, just wants to get this over with. Joining Volken as they head down the walkway, she sighs in response to his comments about Thaelin. "Thaelin doesn't know what he's talking about. Just because they are distracted now doesn't mean they'll forget about it forever. In fact, they most definitely won't. Eventually, someone will come after us. And by eventually I mean likely in the next month or even few weeks."

She approaches the welcome party, particularly those who look like Jedi. "Greetings, we're looking for a Master Asteros Rykard. Is he among those assembled?"

Cayde Alexis has posed:
Volken is the first person Cayde notices as the Mandalorians disembark. Well, he's probably the first person a lot of people notice as he's rather unmistakable. He nods and bows slightly in polite greeting toward the large man and his companions, already trying to sort out which one of them is this Jorn Limus of Bakura he'd been told about.

Zetha Rumir has posed:
All of this is highly fascinating to someone who gets to watch shuttles come and go all the time. New ship (to her) and new people coming to the planet. Might mean new and different business! Though, the three fully armored helmeted ones get a raised brow. Even though they can't see her, she almost wishes she were closer so she could hear what's being said. Also. One familiar face. One. So to be a bug on someone's shoulder, or just flying around, would be nice. A moment taken to consider climbing down and sneaking closer to the group gathered.

Volken Mons has posed:
Volken waits for Jorn before going to far ahead of him. He swivels his body like a moving tank, turning to face the ship and then when Jorn finally arrives he simply nods and then turns his attention back towards....

"Huh!"

So yes, he -is- quite surprised at the number of familiar faces. His gaze darts over each of them in turn and his body language slowly seems to relax somewhat as Navi greets him. "Oh!" he rumbles. A smile clearly audible in his voice even if his features are shrouded in the mystery that are this Mandalorian helmets.

That tone turns to bemusement as the birthday party up.

"My culture was being appropriated!" he says in response in a tone that indicates he actually really didn't care. "So I thought if anyone was going to make money from that...it was going to be me! Nice cake though. To bad I fell into it."

The Lady gets a brief look. She doesn't react. He doesn't react. To that end Windu only gets a brief glance as well ...and then.

"My boy! My son!"

Volken steps forward suddenly, raising both of his enormous arms wide and high as if about to scope up Cayde into a massive hug. He then settles for reaching forward to try and lay a hand on the Padawans head. "Have they finally done their job and taught you to stop going into peoples minds without permission? Tth. I should pull you out of that school of sorcery and wizardry and put you into a better one. What's my tutition payments even paying for..."

Athena (159) has posed:
Terrin's expression falls, and he frowns at Windu's response. "Why Master Windu, I would expect that you would be pleased to hear of such news, think of everyone we may help." He glances as the Mandalorians arrive. "What an uncanny coincidence," he whispers to the Jedi. He waits for Volken's glance to pass before lowering his voice even more to say, "why, there was a Mandalorian that reached out recently regarding the request we'd broadcasted about volunteers for our research," but then he adds very clandestinely. "But Master Windu, you mustn't speak of that to them. This individual reached out in confidence, after all..."

Rykard frowns. "Behave now, Navi. You are a co-deputy now, and shouldn't speak ill of the others in leadership. The doctor has done many a great thing for the colony. Besides, it may cause the colonists to become even more disillusioned if they hear you say such things." Rykard looks up when Ellari says she's looking for him. He steps forward. "I am he," he says, bowing politely in greeting. "But you should know there's been a change of plans around here." Probably not what Ellari would have wanted to hear, but it is what it is.

Both Xera and Volken seem to understand what's at stake here, and are reacting accordingly. Hopefully Cayde's too distracted wondering who in Wild Space is Jorn Limus of Bakura to pry into their minds.

"It's paying for the damages done to the San Tekka estate on Naboo!" Taryn fumes, half joking, "And if it isn't, it should be. Excuse me while I contact my lawyer..." And he steps away.

Pike Windu has posed:
Master Windu shrugs and turns h is attention to the new arrivals. The old Jedi joins his c olleagues.

Jorn (418) has posed:
Jorn steps off the ship. He stands with Ellari and notices how Volken runs up to a young Padawan. His gaze goes to Ellari, "Why aren't you with your son or step son?" Because it gives him something to cling to besides his own anger and misery. He's speaking low, "Seriously. You two should just handfast and get it over with," he nods to Volken. "He's a good man and you two clearly have something. Even if he and I don't get along, Volken's a good man," Jorn starts to move off the ship to greet the sea of strangers. Also, to possibly avoid Ellari stabbing him.

Ellari Zin has posed:
"Ah, good to meet you Master Jedi. I am Lady Ellari Zin. This is Volken Mons, and Jorn Limus." Ellari answers when Rykard steps up. She nods toward each her of companions. But then she frowns slightly. "What sort of change? I'm not sure what you've been told, but Master Trassa Volk sent us here in the hopes that you might be able to give Jorn here some basic saber training."

She scoffs slightly at Jorn's question. "You're giving me marriage advice? How interesting, coming from one who just made a marriage decision that nearly cost him his life. Besides that, I don't know that boy, and I doubt Volken is being serious. Still, perhaps we should confirm with him anyway."

With that her gaze turns toward Volken, a brow arched. "Well, well. I didn't know you had a foundling."

Navi has posed:
"With every last bit of due respect, Master and Marshal, the rest of the increasingly-misnamed leadership doesn't seem to agree," Navi replies, gently, though anger flickers in the depths of her eyes. "It speaks volumes that we left to deal with collecting some necessary kyber crystals, were gone perhaps a month, and the whole fabric of the colony unraveled. The worst part is that the doctor, the man who tried to shame me for not being beside Cayde every minute of every day, as if anyone ever could be, now looks like the most responsible person on the council. It's going to take some real work to put this colony back together. Otherwise, it's doomed."

She watches Volken having his fun with Cayde, and Jorn and Ellari as they disembark. They /aren't/ familiar, though she thinks she might've seen Ellari somewhere before... she can't quite recall.

Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde's eyes widen a bit at Volken's...unexpectedly boisterous greeting. But, he nods at the question. Sort of, at least....anyway, Volken will not feel any strangely foreign thoughts or presences in his mind at the moment, so perhaps it's true. Either that or he has learned to hide it better. However, his expression falls a little, as if this reminded him of something sad.

His gaze wanders over to Jorn when Ellari introduces him. Oh, so that's the one. But he waits for Rykard to take the lead on this first.

Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha watches for a moment longer before deciding she'll try to get closer to eavesdrop on what's being talked about. Random armored people arriving to Tenoo - of all places - has to mean something. So she climbs down from her spaceship view and then walks the little ways it takes to exit the junkyard and then walks towards the spaceport itself. A glance around given for anything she could hide behind that's got enough of a vantage point to hear and see but not be seen or heard herself.

Athena (159) has posed:
"Master Windu...?" Vaneya finally chimes in, as she watches the elder Jedi walk away to join his colleagues. She and Terrin exchange a look and then shrug, following the elder Jedi towards the larger group.

Jorn won't get a response from Taryn, but the hyperspace bureaucrat will shoot him an icy look before stepping way to make a holocall, presumably to his lawyer.

Rykard's brow quirks ever so slightly at the interactions between the Mandalorians. They aren't exactly friends, are they? He isn't surprised. Volk hadn't mentioned much, but it the old Master finds it typical. "I am no longer marshal as of yesterday, due to unforeseen events which have weakened my resolve and connection to the Force," Rykard then announces, not addressing what Ellari had said, "My padawan, and the young Sephi you see before you now, Navi Valrennann, have been name co-deputies, and will oversee all matters regarding the colony. Whatever it is you desire, or seek, you may inquire of them. It is within their judgement to deem it worthy of their attention, or not." He then turns to -leave-. That was -it-? The elder Ikkrukki hadn't even said when or where Jorn would begin his training. Unless...

Rykard turns to Navi. "You are right," he says mournfully, "but I believe in you. I believe in Cayde." He reaches over and places a reassuring hand on Cayde's shoulder, as well, gazing intently into the young padawan's eyes. "You can, and will be, a better instructor than I have been to you," he says, his expression sad. "May the Force be with you, Cayde Alexis. Remember, there is no passion, there is serenity." Then he releases both Navi and Cayde and starts walking away, right towards where Zetha is hiding!

Volken Mons has posed:
"Well I saved his life once. Maybe twice. Three times? I'm not sure anymore. At least once. So that makes him my foundling when I feel like it." explains Volken, utterly unconcerned about any lawyers being called and fortunantely -very- unaware of Jorn's insinuations to Ellari about their 'relationship'.

"Why so glum, chum? Chin up." he advises Cayde.

But that seems to be the extant of his playtime as he turns from the young Jedi to face the others now and he listens as the Jedi they came all this way to seek...begins promptly walking away.

Volken just sighs, reaching a hand up to place onto his helmet in aggravation. "Are you -kidding- me??"

Jorn (418) has posed:
"I know. It must be real bad if even -I- can see it and you refuse," Jorn says just trying to turn the tide on that phrase. Yes, some of his company is questionable at best. Still, he could see something with that pair. He presumes a lot of people could.

Unmoved by such an icy look, Jorn.

Then he speaks in Twil, "Nice to meet you," and he looks toward the person trying to make themself unseen. The twil tongue continues from Jorn, "New friends and allies may be nervous over someone that hides." Jorn just waits patiently for a response. Also, knowing he may have brought a lot of attention to the Twil'lek.

Pike Windu has posed:
Suddenly Pike turns back to face the alien researchers. "I look forward to learning more about your breakthrough."

Navi has posed:
"Wait... you're no longer /Marshal/, Master? Then who /is/?" Navi cries, startled by this news. Stranger yet, Master Rykard seems to be leaving Cayde to teach the young Mandalorian the use of a /lightsaber/?

This day just keeps getting stranger! What good are Deputies with no Marshal? Someone's got to be in charge!

She looks between Jorn and the Mandalorians, and then to Master Rykard. And then to Cayde. "I hope Master Rykard left a Junior Marshal's Handbook in the Marshal's office, or this job may be over before it starts," she murmurs.

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari just...is left there with her mouth hanging open in disbelief as Master Rykard delivers the news and simply starts walking away. "But--" she begins, however he has already turned away. She shares in Volken's expression of disbelief at the situation. She looks over toward Cayde and Navi. They look...very young. Especially the boy.

"-Now- what?" Well, Jorn seems to be talking to a Twi'lek somewhere, but that's the least of her concerns right now. Jorn's comments about her relationship with Volken go unanswered.

Cayde Alexis has posed:
[Sorry] he signs to Volken when the large Mandalorian tries to cheer him up. It's just, he wishes he had a father like that...

Unlike Navi, Cayde doesn't seem shocked by the news from Rykard. <Not sure about...but thank you Master>

Well, here goes nothing. He looks directly at Ellari and Volken following their incredulous stares after his master.

[I will train him] Then he goes to tap Jorn on the shoulder to get his attention and tell hopefully tell him the same thing.

Zetha Rumir has posed:
Someone is walking towards her, and before she has a chance to duck anywhere else...someone else is talking in Twil. Zetha just blinks and then takes a breath before stepping into Rykard's path but also out of it to approach a bit closer. In Twil, to Jorn, she replies - "Well, I wasn't invited to the party..." though it's at this point she turns her eyes to Navi and with hopes to get the woman's attention, she offers a little wave. Speaking nothing more though, but also then turning to look towards Rykard who is now walking past.

Athena (159) has posed:
Terrin and Vaneya seem surprised. "We may have misjudged you, then, Master Windu," Vaneya says. "But we'd best talk somewhere where we can find a quieter room," she says. "The library, perhaps, but it's the weekend, so it's closed! Dammit, small towns..."

"Trust in the Force, Navi," the former Marshal says, as he continues walking towards the densely wooded area outside of Kublop. He spares Zetha a brief look, but it isn't long before he's disappeared from sight entirely.

Xera's lip twitches almost imperceptibly when she sees Cayde telling the others that he'll be training Jorn. But then it returns to that blank, unreadable look. "Well, then, it's very nice to meet you all," she suddenly says, with that fake sweet smile that Navi by now will know so well,"you are all guests, and it's your first night here on Tenoo, we should make it one to remember. Believe it or not, there's an elite grav-ball club in the plaza, and I'm familiar with the owner, so he'll let me and anyone else I desire in ad hoc on weekends for a small fee. There's plenty of the local cuisine there, and a bar as well. I'll open a tab, everyone here is invited and can have a round on me tonight. What do you say?"

Terrin leans in closer to Pike again, and says quietly. "Perfect! The grav-ball club will at least have a private parlor. I doubt anyone will miss us if we slip away while they're all having drinks."

Zetha hadn't technically been invited, Xera's open invite seems ... tempting. Hardly any of the ordinary folk in Kublop had -ever- been inside the grav-ball club. It's probably the only fancy establishment in the entire town...

Volken Mons has posed:
Volken sighs. The sound a mixture of an annoyed Wookie and a half drunk Dowutin.

He shakes his head and then looks down to Cayde and inclines his head as the young jedi approaches Jorn. He then switches to Mando'a and rumbles.

<<We got time... Thaelin said that Caine already admitted to stealing the saber. There's political turmoil and they're not even thinking about or looking for Jorn. He thinks we should just stay away for awhile. I may end up going back but we have some breathing room... Enough time to explain what's going on to these sorcerers.. Jedi...>>

He then turns as he hears Xera and just falls silent, looking long at her. When she finishes....he stays silent for abit and then, suddenly:

"Sound's liek a party. I love a good party!"

Pike Windu has posed:
"Yes, later." The elder Jedi nods before turning back to the others.

Navi has posed:
Navi sighs, too. "I will, Master. May the Force be with you," she calls after him.

"And us, too," she murmurs, turning back toward the landing pad. "We're gonna /need it/." Nothing the two scientists who spend so much time close to the Vergence speaking to Master Windu, she watches them for a moment, then looks back to Xera as the auburn-haired executive addresses everyone present.

"Not a bad idea, I guess. Maybe a drink will help," she muses, turning toward the grav-ball club. She manages a smile for Zetha. "Welcome to the party. What brings you out here?" she asks warmly.

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari arches a brow when Cayde informs them all that he will be the one doing the training. Great....just great. She glances over at Volken, because apparently he knows the kid. She clears her through. "So, Volken...I don't suppose you happen to know how old he is?" she asks.

At the mention of grav-ball, she nods. "Thank you, miss...?" she leads, expecting an introduction. Just who is this woman? Clearly some rich elite but if that was the case what was she doing on this backwater planet?

Athena (159) has posed:
"Lady Graf, primary sponsor of the Tenoo Initiative," she says to Ellari, politely bowing to both her and Volken in turn. Jorn, for some reason, gets ignored. "Perfect, then," the Lady Xera says, "Come then, let's go. The plaza is a ten minute walk from here, doors opened about five minutes ago." She then turns on her heel and starts making her way towards the plaza.

The Arkanians don't notice Navi's look. "Later?" Vaneya says to Pike. "We're going to the club now. If we tell the host we're with Lady Graf, they'll let us in and we can claim the best private parlor before anyone else does."

Zetha Rumir has posed:
Zetha blinks and then smiles a bit sheepishly. Of COURSE going to the plaza would be a wonderous thing, but she is not dressed for it. Her attention goes to Navi and that sheepishness turns into more of a proper smile. "Heard the ship. Got curious. I think I might pass on the party, otherwise if Wiis needs me I'll never hear the end of it for being gone so long. And speaking of...I should probably get back." Then, she's just a fading blue form heading back to the junkyard.

Jorn (418) has posed:
"I think you're going to be drafted," Jorn continues in Twil.

"I think you're passing up an opportunity. Fortune does not favor the timid," he speaks to Zeetha before she parts.

A look goes to Cayde for a moment. Jorn nods to him out of respect.

After introductions, Jorn nods toward Xera. "Nice to meet you," Jorn doesn't believe the sweet as sachrin act from Xera. Still, he will be cordial for the time being.

Volken Mons has posed:
"Eh." is Volken's answer to Ellari .. meaning he either doesn't know or knows and doesn't care or some other similar combo.

His next words continue to rumble out in their own native tongue, <<He can handle a lightsaber and do so better than Jorn. That whole ...trained from being a little kid through their adult hood, yeah? If he's willing to teach him how to handle it then hat should suit our purposes. ITs not like he's gotta hold onto it against other Jedi but against folk on Mandalore... At this point we don't have much choice. It'll be fine...>>

Pike Windu has posed:
"Yes, later. Right now, I must be alone with my thoughts. May the Force be with you." Windu pulls up his hood and departs with haste.

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari frowns, this actually sounded kind of familiar. "Wait, is this the one you said was troublesome?" she asks, in Mando'a as well. "Hmph. They may have forgotten for now, but it won't last as long as Thaelin thinks it will. But for now, I suppose I little grav-ball couldn't hurt." With that, she moves to follow Xera to the club.

Cayde Alexis has posed:
[Tell me when you can start....tomorrow?] Cayde signs to Jorn.

He watches Xera and the rest start toward the grav-ball club, a sinking feeling coming on. He really doesn't want to. Parties were difficult. And the food probably wouldn't agree with him. But he couldn't just avoid it forever. Master would...want him to. So he steels himself and follows them.

Navi has posed:
Navi falls in with the others heading toward the plaza, torn between a drink to soothe her nerves (which are quite frazzled by now) and moving away from Xera. Somewhat against her better judgement, she goes with her usual strategy of 'wait and see', looking back at Cayde and Jorn for a moment.

"Hope you like fish," she advises Volken. "And moss. The local cuisine is pretty sad. At least the alcohol is imported."

Volken Mons has posed:
"Yup." is Volken's response to Ellari, once more speaking in Basic. Yup...this was the troublesome one....

He then reaches for said troublesome one and lightly attempts to urge him onward towards the party as if passing on some minor reassurance in the process. It's an absent minded gesture really.

"Mmm..I like fish." he responds to Navi. "I'll eat fish....but drinking is better .. and you can tell me about any mor of your winnings in Canto Bight!"

Athena (159) has posed:
Vaneya scoffs as Pike leaves. "Alone with your thoughts? These -Jedi-!" She shakes her head, but her and Terrin head into the club after Xera.

Once inside the club Xera places a hand gently on Volken's arm. "I'm sure you'd love to see the view from the balcony," she says, "it's incomparable. Tenoo is beautiful, even if it is a bit too rural for my tastes." Volken may catch her drift. The balcony is away from everyone, and has sliding doors that can close and give them privacy.

Once Navi arrives in the lobby, she'll see a familiar face - Thaarin. He's making his way over to her. "I'm sorry I couldn't come earlier," he says, "The Chancellor's office wanted a status update and there was a loose wire I had to fix manually. Xera told me everyone is here now, though. He searches the crowd, frowning. "Where's Cayde? Congratulations, by the way, I heard you've earned the title of deputy marshal."

Ellari Zin has posed:
"Right...the troublesome one, and yet it will be just fine, I suppose." Ellari remarks, also reverting back to Basic with a touch of sarcasm. "Well, Jorn seems to be all right with it, I guess that's what really matters anyway."

Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde exhales audibly as Volken urges him onward as well. Yes, yes, he is going, okay? He'll get used to it someday. However, he frowns once they're inside and Xera approaches the hulking Mandalorian. For once, he actually doesn't wander away, just stands there and watches them apprehensively.

Volken Mons has posed:
"Hmmm?" Volken glances to Xera and then looks back to the very obvious and nervous Cayde and then he looks back to Xera. Then:

"Sorry son. Daddy has to go show his muscles off to a pretty lady and try and make another pretty lady jealous." he rumbles at Cayde. His grin is practically visible through that helmet of his.

He gives Cayde a slight wave and then looks towards Xera, "I love pretty views! Let's go take a look!"

Navi has posed:
"Well, I didn't win much. Canto Bight staff are almost as snooty as they are unhelpful," Navi replies, with a faint blush. "The slots were easier to deal with."

As they enter the club, she spies Thaarin, and waves to him. "Status update? What'd you tell him?" she asks thoughtfully. "Hope the wire didn't give you too much trouble."

She indicates Cayde and Volken. "He's not far." And he isn't; he's a mere two meters away. "The title feels more like a burden than an honor. But someone had to step up. I just wish they'd told me Master Rykard was stepping down as Marshal. And who stepped up to take his place."

She has to stifle giggles as Vons makes his 'excuses' to Cayde and moves off with Xera. "C'mon, Son of Mons. You can sit with Uncle Thaarin and me. Daddy won't be gone long," she adds impishly.

Athena (159) has posed:
As soon as they move to the balcony and the glass doors slide shut behind them, Xera drops the facade. She removes her hand from Volken's arm. "You didn't tell me you were coming," she says a bit harshly. "Why didn't you tell me?" Then she sighs. "Alright, nevermind that. We'll discuss it another time. I have another task for you, this time, I'm willing to pay whatever amount you demand."

"The boy -has- to go. Now you know the nature of these types of deals, no questions asked, no word of this to anyone else. And don't ask which boy. You -know-." She then turns to look out at the view, which at least, she had not been lying about. It is spectacular.

"The truth, as nicely as possible. And I at least, am not worried. You'll do fine," Thaarin says, with a shrug. "It wasn't too much trouble, however, it did cause quite a delay. I apologize." He then glances over to see Cayde. "Cayde," he says, offering the young padawan a faint smile. "Congrats." He pats him on the shoulder. "You should be proud of yourself." Then he glances over at Ellari, noticing the Mandalorian woman for the first time. "And may I have the pleasure of knowing...?" He levels his scarlet gaze at her.

Ellari Zin has posed:
"Jealous? Hah." A scoff is directed Volken's way at his comment about making someone jealous. "I wonder just who it is he might be seeking to elicit jealousy from."

Ellari peers at Thaarin. Huh, in all her travels, she has never seen any species like him before. "Ellari Zin." she answers. "And you are?" she asks of him in return.

Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde watches Volken go to speak with Xera in private. He doesn't have to pry in their minds to have a bad feeling about this. Really though, he has reason to have a bad feeling about anything Xera Graf does.

He actually smiles a little at Volken's joking, although it s a sad smile.

[Thank you] he signs to Thaarin.

Volken Mons has posed:
"Whoa, wait a minute, wait a minute. I didn't come here knowing you were here. I'm on Mandalorian business. I didn't know you were even here. Frankly Id din't even -want- to come here but I'm with my vod."

Volken reaches up and finally removes his helmet, letting his dark messy hair fall about his lightly bearded face and tree trunk of a neck. He peers at Xera intensely now through the strands of his hair.

"You're going t'have to be a little more explicit by what you mean by 'go'. What's the problem here?"

Navi has posed:
"Now why does the name Zin sound familiar..?" Navi murmurs. Maybe it will come to her sometime soon... possibly something back on Coruscant. A place that looks better and better by the day...

"No apology necessary, Thaarin... but you better /hope/ I'll do fine," she adds to Thaarin, with a hint of a wry smile. "That colony's one incident away from total failure. Not that it's ever been on firm ground. But things are likely to get worse before they get better."

She looks after Volk and Xera thoughtfully, wondering if the tall woman is up to something else. She always seems to be up to something...

Athena (159) has posed:
Xera rolls her eyes impatiently. "What -else- would I mean, Volken? Don't be so dense. Go, as in, he can't be here. And preferably not just not 'here,' but very, very far away on a planet no one's heard of, or six feet in the ground as a corpse, or back on Coruscant locked up in a room in the Jed Temple, I don't -care-. I just don't want him on Tenoo, or anywhere near it. -Now- do you understand? I don't care about whatever it is that brought you here, Lorn Jimus of Takodana or whatnot. There's no problem credits can't fix, which you'll have plenty of if you complete this task for me."

"I'll do you one better," the Chiss man teases. "I'll -believe- you will." Then Thaarin nods at Cayde, before turning his attention back to Ellari. "You may call me Thaarin," he says, "It's a pleasure, Ellari Zin. What brings you to Tenoo?"

Volken Mons has posed:
At this.. Volken Mons straightens up. With his helmet off his body language shift is accompanied by a visible tightening of his expression and darkening of his eyes. He's had his fill of dominating manipulative women between Lady Solstice and now this..

"I knew what you meant. I just wanted to hear you -say- it." he rumbles darkly.

"I didn't come here to try and off some Jedi kid you have a problem with. You can't buy everthing. I may be a mercenary but I have my honor as a Mandalorian...and what's more...-I- need him to perform a task that he's been assigned to do. So you don't get to just march me up here as if I work for you. We aint got a contract like that. I did one job for you and did it well. You want me to do more jobs fine but you gotta come at me right and they better be jobs worth my time. Making a 'boy' disappear doesn't qualify...."

He lets that linger in the air for a moment before adding, "What's he done to you that makes you need t'target him? He's clueless and a little nosey but I aint never seen him be outright malicious. He'll be busy enough with this Marshal and trainin' business to stay out of your hair anyway..."

Ellari Zin has posed:
"Thaarin, good to meet you. I don't think I've ever seen anyone quite like you before. Where are you from?" Ellari asks the blue man. "As for what I'm doing here...it's a long story. Mandalorian business, of a political nature. The long and short of it is that Jorn will be saber training with...that one." she replies, nodding toward Cayde. "I take it, he is a friend of yours?"

Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde watches the doors to the patio where Volken and Xera have gone for a moment, then sighs and finally does start to wander off and maybe explore what this establishment has to offer.

Navi has posed:
"They say belief has power. You'd better hope it's true, 'cause I've never felt so overwhelmed in my life," Navi replies to Thaarin, noticing Cayde wandering off. "But Cayde just might make a very good teacher. At the very least, it'll keep him busy doing something worthwhile... and out of trouble, I hope."

"Stay inside the club, Cayde," she calls after him. "And if you decide to go back to the colony, please let us know." Wandering around Kublop Springs looking for a missing Padawan who's already back at the nameless colony is not her idea of time well spent.

Athena (159) has posed:
"I didn't ask you to -kill- him. He could be happy for all I care, just away from me. Besides, I'm certain anywhere that isn't close to me will help guarantee that.

"And what do you know about him? You've gone on a few misadventures with him here and there, perhaps saved his stupid ass a few times, but do you -really- know him?" She looks away, appearing insulted. "You don't understand, Volken. He threatened me. He threatened me--" and she suddenly swallows, her skin turning slightly pale. She seems genuinely afraid. "With a fate worse than death over a -girl-. I would have landed in a psych ward without the ability to express anything other than nonsense for the rest of my life. You don't think he'd do it, I feel certain he already has. Vlaven Emissarius, look him up, Volken. That padawan is dangerous, Volken. You don't know it, but he is. Unpredictable, hormonal, with far too much power."

"Fine. But what about after you get whatever it is you need from him?"

Thaarin smiles good naturedly at Ellari. "Not anywhere you would have heard of, I'm afraid," he says with a shrug. For a moment his expression becomes unreadable, and then he suddenly smiles and offers Ellari a hand. "Say, why don't you tell me more about it over a drink?" he says, tilting his head towards the bar a few feet away. "Is Jorn a good friend of Cayde's, by some chance?"

He then looks to Navi. "Now, Navi my dear, you ought to join us as well. I'm sure a drink will help you feel less overwhelmed. Xera is feeling generous tonight, it would appear."

There's fish, more fish, and mossberry biscuits. And then there's the Arkanians, in a private parlor behind closed glass doors. What had they been talking to Master Windu so privately about before?

Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde doesn't find any of the food appetizing, as per usual. But what are those Arkanian researchers talking about so privately?

...Probably nothing. Maybe just gossip. If it was anything to be concerned about, he's sure Master Pike would handle it.

Ellari Zin has posed:
Ellari feigns an offended look. "Why, are you insulting my knowledge of the galaxy?" She shrugs, following him over to the bar. "I don't know. I don't think so, But it seems that's how things have worked out. Hopefully, we can finish our business and be on our way quickly and smoothly. You didn't answer my earlier question." she reminds him, finding it strange that any time she asks a question about this kid everyone who apparently knows him seems rather reluctant to give any sort of real answer.

Volken Mons has posed:
"Maybe he did. You're not exactly operating on the up and up are you? None of us are. It's kinda a Jedi thing to want to ....uphold their values and whatever. But sure, I'll bite. Did you share what happened with his teachers? The Jedi Masters and their temple or did you jus tcurl up and let it go? That sounds like a breach of their codes of conduct from what little I do know about them. I've never heard of them just going around threatening folk, let aone grown folk when they're just kids."

Volken rubs his jaw and then says, "He's supposed to be training my vod, Jorn. That should be enough to keep him busy. You stay away from him and he'll stay away from you. Sounds fair to me..."

Navi has posed:
"Well, maybe two drinks. Just don't ask me to try the fish," Navi replies to Thaarin, shuddering, following Thaarin and Ellari slightly reluctantly. "Thaarin is one of two unknown species we pulled out of a crashed ship. He was one of two survivors of the crash, and I doubt you'll believe that a few months ago he couldn't speak a word of Basic. Now you'd hardly know he's a non-native speaker," she adds to Ellari. "Cayde helped him a lot, and I doubt you'll find two better friends in the galaxy."

Athena (159) has posed:
Thaarin laughs, lighting up a charming smile. "Ah, forgive me, I didn't mean to. If you must know, it's a very cold planet called Csilla. I don't think you'd like it," he says. He then pulls out a barstool for Ellari. "Oh dear, it would appear I'm not myself tonight. I promise you, I don't normally commit more than a couple party fouls per event, but it seems I've forgotten my manners in the presence of someone as enlightening as yourself. Cayde is a close friend, yes. We're.. habsuite mates, actually. I'm quite fond of him." He turns to Navi. "Don't worry, I won't," he says.

The Arkanians notice Cayde as soon as he appears in front of the parlor doors. They seem surprised, and ... dismayed? Well, that's odd. Terrin opens the door. "... did you need something?" he asks. He seems on edge for some reason.

"Such blind faith," Xera scoffs. "Perhaps you should join the Order yourself," she remarks derisively. "I told them, they didn't believe me. But I -was- afraid for my life, and you may notice, that Rykard, Cayde's master, has conveniently absented himself." She sighs. "What's a girl to do," she says, sounding defeated, although whether she's acting or not will remain a mystery. "Promise me this, then. You'll make sure he stays away from me for the duration of the time you're here? I'd like -not- to get turned into a vegetable, and if I am, you may find yourself lacking work and credits later on."

Ellari Zin has posed:
"Csilla, hm. Outer Rim? No. Wild Space." Ellari guesses, sitting down on the stool. "Your ship crashed here? What were you doing so far from home, then?"

"Ah, you're housemates. Or roommates, or something. Then you must spend a lot of time around him. Do you think he'll make a good instructor for Jorn?"

Cayde Alexis has posed:
[No...are you all right] Cayde asks. The man seems anxious about something. But it's a party, he's supposed to be relaxing.

Volken Mons has posed:
"Listen lady... there's something you should know about me. I've been through hell and high water lately on my homeworld ....dealing with all sorts of politics and manipulators and liars and folk tryin' to get ahead of other folk by all sorts of cut throat action and they were -Mandalorians-.. so you can imagine that it wasn't just play or pretty words. So in short....while I love your credits and find you very attractive...don't try and manipulate me and put on an act. There's alot I'll do for credits but I"m in the 'handle with care' bracket....understand...?"

Sighing, Volken grumbles, "I was threatening to leave Mandalore and come work for you anyway but here we are. Maybe they didn't believe you. Maybe they did. I doubt it's as simple as you're makin' it out to be but what can I do eh? Sure, I'll tell him to stay away from you and ask his friends to mind him abit more and we'll see where that gets it. Alright?"

Navi has posed:
At least Thaarin seems to be having fun, Navi muses, looking to the menu. "Two kera-mint fizzes, please," she says to the barkeep. "On Lady Graf's tab." They're stim drinks rather than intoxicants, so at least she won't be too fuzzy-headed.

"As best we could piece together, there was some kind of trouble with pirates or raiders. Thaarin and his companion turned the tables on them and slew them, but couldn't save the ship, and it crashed. If our shuttle hadn't been struck by the ship on its way down, it would've sunk in a freezing lake with no survivors. The Jedi proved their reputation as lifesavers that day."

Athena (159) has posed:
"No. And no," Thaarin says with a laugh, "But you're charming. Keep guessing," he says. "Ah, Navi, you tell it so melodramatically. It was not nearly quite so interesting or adventurous, and the Jedi weren't the only ones responsible. Navi was there saving my life, as well."

"Something like that," he says, "and I do. I think he has it in him to be a fine instructor," he says, "and speaking of teaching, why don't you teach me a bit about yourself?" He stands up and suddenly steps closer to Ellari, getting into her personal space, brushing a forefinger under her chin briefly and gently. "Basic isn't your native dialect, is it? I'd love to know how to tell a woman she's the finest and most interesting thing I've seen around these parts today, in your language," he says, grinning at her.

"I'm fine," Terrin says brusquely. Vaneya gets up, and he glances over at her. "We were, uh, just leaving." He starts to push past Cayde. But it's clear they'd been in the middle of talking about something when he'd arrived.

Xera seems to hardly be listening. Her gaze has wandered, and she's peering through the glass sliding doors, watching Thaarin flirt with Ellari at the bar. "Mm, yes, fine," she says, not even looking at the behemoth. "Excuse me a moment..." then she hurries back through the doors towards where Thaarin, Ellari, and Navi are sitting at the bar.

Volken Mons has posed:
"NIce to see it's so important to you." grumbles Volken as she walks off and hardly confirms his last statement. He waits on the balcon for a few extra moments and then begins to follow after her, eventually returning to the party proper.

Ellari Zin has posed:
"Hm. I give up." Ellari shrugs, smirking. "But what do your people call themselves? Somehow, I doubt it's 'Csillan'. You seem the well-traveled sort, but you haven't yet answered the question of what you were doing so far away from home?" she asks.

"You believe so? Well, I'm glad to hear it. Although he seems a bit young, I hear the Jedi are trained in lightsaber combat from a very young age. If that's true, then perhaps he will prove capable."

Cayde Alexis has posed:
Cayde frowns, but then remembers that Master Pike had been speaking to them earlier again. The padawan feels confident leaving whatever the matter was in the elder Jedi's hands. Well, but just in case, he reaches out to Terrin as he brushes past. <You are troubled>

However, when he notices Volken returning to the party, he turns his attention toward the massive man instead. [What was it about] he asks.

Navi has posed:
Navi's drinks arrive, and she pauses to take her first sip of the sparkling blue liquid, through a very twisty straw made of some variety of transparent flimsiplast. "Thank you. I never get tired of these," she says softly to the bartender, taking another sip.

She glances over in time to see Thaarin putting the moves on Ellari. And she seems at least slightly receptive. "I can't take you anywhere," she observes softly, with a faint smirk.

The smirk dies as she notices Xera approaching. "Guess muscles aren't impressive enough for a Lady," she murmurs, getting the beginnings of a bad feeling about this situation.

Athena (159) has posed:
"The Unknown Regions," he says, "Where I'm from, we are called the Chiss. I'm not well traveled, unfortunately. And contacting my people has proven difficult, if not impossible for now. I was investigating the matter Navi mentioned, and it landed me on a planet sacred to the Jedi. The rest is history," he says, "but enough about me. I've answered all your questions, won't you answer mine?" He levels his gaze at her again, leaning towards Ellari with the faintest hint of a smile.

At that moment, Xera turns up at the bar. "Thaarin, my sweet, are you enjoying yourself?" she says, "I'm sorry I had to step away for a moment." Thaarin is then distracted from Ellari, and turns to face the Lady. He kisses her hand gently. "No apology necessary," he says, "I'm sure it was important." His gaze then rests on Volken.

Xera also seems displeased to find Navi still here, as well. "You're deputy now, don't you think you ought to be done relaxing by now?" she says disdainfully.

Terrin doesn't respond. He had been troubled, but clearly isn't in the mood to share about it to Cayde.

Volken Mons has posed:
"I've done some work for her in the past. She's a very proflic business woman. We were just reconnecting. I didn't expect her to be here." answers Volken, directy and honestly. He eyex Xera and then looks back to Cayde, "Mercenary stuff. -Non-Jedi stuff...you know?"

He grins, expression visible now as he looks over Cayde, "Why're you so interested?"

Ellari Zin has posed:
"'Chiss', you said? Sorry, I almost thought I heard 'kiss'." she laughs. "Hm, well you'll have to tell me which woman you are planning to say these words to, first." Ellari answers, smirking. "I wouldn't want to spoil my own chances, after all."

Cayde Alexis has posed:
[Why not...we are family now] Cayde replies when Volken asks him why he's interested. After all the man had basically declared adoption just now, right? However, it's difficult to tell if he's serious about that or just playing along with the joke.

[Careful...she would betray you] he warns. If it served her own agendas, anyway. Always trying to manipulate people to get her way. Was there anyone she actually cared about more than herself? He doubts it.

Navi has posed:
"Don't tell me you're not even going to let me finish the stim-drink you bought for me, my dear Lady," Navi observes, with a hint of a wry smile. "I know how you hate to waste money. Besides, I've barely been here five minutes. I'll probably be on the job in another five."

She gives Vons a quick little wave as he returns and addresses Cayde. At least the Padawan seems to be in good hands, for the moment.

Thaarin seems to be holding his own as well, so she just smirks the tiniest of smirks and drains her first drink, the liquid gurgling softly as the glass runs dry.

Volken Mons has posed:
"So you finally got a sense of humor. That's great! It's about time. Those stuffy Jedi have probably tried to keep you under lock and key because of your powers and stifled you abit. Live a little!"

Volken seems highly amused at Cayde's response. He then shakes his head, "It's mercenary work. FOlk like her are always willing to backstab if they think it'll fill their pockets with more credit. I've dealt with her type on Mandalore and -those- folk will do what she does -and- plant a mine under your feet at the same time and call it honor. I can handle her. -You- need to stay away from her though and dont give her any reasons to try anything since you know what she's like.... You're going to have your hands full dealing with Jorn...."

If he notices that he's being studied, he gives no indication of it...focusing his attention fully on Cayde.

Athena (159) has posed:
Thaarin watches Volken and Cayde this entire time,  his expression unreadable.

"Volken," Xera suddenly  says, coming over to interrupt, "I want you to meet my partner, Thaarin," she says, "we've been seeing each other off and on since he's arrived, but have solidified our relationship a bit more as of late," she says.

Thaarin looks Volken up and down, and it may occur to Volken that he's not like any alien he has ever seen before. Those scarlet eyes, they're hard to forget. Not to mention his looks might have some pegging him as royalty. He seems to have caught Ellari's attention, apparently. "Why, if that's what you wanted, you should have just said so earlier~" he says to Ellari, taking her hand and kissing it. "And you haven't, at all. I thought I'd made it clear you were the only woman I had eyes for tonight," he says.

He then turns to Volken, and flashes him a charming smile too. "Well hello there~ Volken. Well met," he says, offering the Mandalorian his hand.

Xera's expression tightens, and she slips her hands into her pockets so that no one will see that she's clenching her fists. "Oh, well... maybe you -could- stay a little longer," she says, "it would seem I'm out of good company for tonight."

Navi has posed:
"Of course, Xera... I wouldn't want you to feel unwelcome at your own party," Navi replies. Is she still smirking? It's hard to tell. "Though I hope you don't mean that I'm /not/ good company. That would be an awfully rude thing to hint at, since we were so dear to one another not so long ago. I still wonder about that, since it wasn't my feelings that changed."

Cayde Alexis has posed:
[Okay father] Cayde replies, although he doesn't give any indication of intention to follow that advice or not.

He gives Volken an inquisitive look at the comment about Jorn. [Is he difficult] he asks.

Ellari Zin has posed:
"You are certainly a charmer." Ellari remarks, as he kisses her hand. "Very well, but you've asked for a fairly complex translation. We can keep it simple for now, and say you can refer to a beautiful woman as 'mesh'la dala', or 'copyc dalyc'."

She notices him watching Volken and Cayde intently. "Worried about your young friend?"

Volken Mons has posed:
"I'll explain later." says Volken to Cayde upon realizing that someone was listening in or attempting to -just- before he's interrupted by him and Xera.

"Mmm...h'lo there." he rumbles ...takig a long moment to study Thaarin neutrally and considering his interactions with Ellari as well. His expression is somewhat flat. Maybe -he's- the one feeling jealous...

But then he gives the man a big grin and lifts his massive hand up and allows Thaarin to clasp it it and safely does so.

"Pleasure to meet ya..."

Athena (159) has posed:
Xera's lips press into a thin line, and then into a forced smile. "Well, I'm afraid, dear Navi, that it was your inability to see the need for change that ruined things, sadly. However, no thanks to you, I've taken care of it myself." She doesn't leave though, not yet, at least. She sits down next to Navi with a sigh.

"Ah," Thaarin says, "what privilege it is to be in the presence of such copyc dalyc," he says, grinning at Ellari. His pronunciation is perfect, if Ellari didn't know any better she would have thought him a native. "Well, I always worry about him. You'll understand why, later," He says to her.

Then he turns to Volken, shaking his hand firmly. "But how to decide which one is more copyc?" He winks at Volken, but what he'd really meant remains unclear. Is he talking about Xera, Navi, or is he teasing Volken? He may never know, as the tall blue man quickly turns to the bartender. "Bring out something strong for our vertically gifted guest, will you? He seems to be the kind of fellow who likes his liquor as strong as he is."

Ellari Zin has posed:
"Perfect pronunciation, consider me impressed." Ellari compliments. "You must be some sort of linguistic expert, among other things, I would guess."

She frowns slightly when he mentions worrying about Cayde. "Oh? That seems to contrast with what you'd said about him earlier." A pause. "He's disabled, somehow is that the reason? Deaf, or just speechless? Do you know why?"

Athena (159) has posed:
Thaarin smiles. "Ah, well, that's flattery now," he says, "no need to be impressed. I'm sure there are others who could do the same, if they simply applied themselves," he says.

"I believe he was born mute. I'm not sure why." He shakes his head. "But it's not in contrast with what I said earlier. He really does have a heart to help others, which is why he'll be a fine instructor. You'll see what I mean later."

Then he elbows her playfully. "You know, this club is actually a bit of a bore. I'm going to get out of here, and you're more than welcome to join me." He winks, and then heads for the door.
