Following an unfortunate accident which occurred at the economic convention, the Jedi Order suddenly has come under the scrutiny of the Chancellor's Office, just as they've started to need the Republic's funding more than ever. Emissarius Vlaven, the significant other of Chancellor Rie's favored second cousin Gianka, has been promoted to Vice Treasurer. There's talk that he seems to be the one pulling all the strings - but can the Jedi and their allies prove it, before it's too late?

The picture Annelia took, when ran against CSF records
Dr. Cassias
Labeled as a 'weird man' by Annelia, the doctor's reputation is one of that of a man who is very withdrawn and introverted. Little is known about his personal life, other than the rumors that he has a covert drinking problem, often acts emotionally aggressive around Cayde, and is Gianka's biological uncle. Gianka seems to share a tenuous relationship with him, however. When asked about the falsified toxicology report on Seegil's drugging, he responded with surprising recalcitrance and gave no explanation, instead redirecting those investigating to question Sanza Laa, the Chancellor's aide instead.
After being confronted by the Jedi and CSF, the doctor curiously admitted to having been the one behind Seegil's poisoning and the attempted vehicular homicide against Sanzo Laa, though no one present could fully believe his confession.
Genn Theos
This videographer and documentarian was first seen outside the Jedi Temple, filming the Jedi saber training demonstrations. Those present took an immediate disliking to him. Claiming to be making a documentary on the daily lives of the Jedi, what he's actually doing at the Temple is questionable at best and insidious at worst. He was last seen lingering in an off limit area with Vlaven during the Jedi Temple tours.
Sanzo Laa
Sanzo Laa is a notorious gossip with a low tolerance for stress and a passive aggressive personality. After the incident with Cayde and the Chancellor at the economic convention, the complaint filed against the young padawan was supposed to have been written by him, but the aggressive language seemed to mismatch his character.
He is highly suspicious of Burkenn and all of his family and associates, including Dr. Cassias. He was the target of what appeared to be vehicular homicide recently, and had Pike not warned him ahead of time, he might not have escaped the accident with only a minor concussion.
Chancellor Rie
Chancellor Rie is an overly optimistic Twi'lek with a soft spot for spontaneity and good food. However, his tendency to play favorites is a character flaw many regard as a political weakness. He is good friends with Dr. Cassias and is cousin to Senator Burkenn's, through adoption. The two of them are very close, and because of that, he loves to spoil Gianka.
Emissarus Vlaven
Though a politician, Vlaven is known for being verbally aggressive and is disdained by many for being scheming and two faced. He finds the Jedi hypocritical, and is not afraid to express his strong dislike for Pike and Cayde in particular. Yet, no one seems to have managed to catch him in the act of anything criminal. Rumor has it he has family in the Outer Rim of questionable alignment, and some speculate that he might have been the one responsible for drugging Heydan Seegil at the Serenity Gala. Despite all this, he remains Gianka's significant other, and she is rarely seen in public without him. The hologossip feeds say they're going to get engaged soon.
Senator Burkenn
Senator Forzod Burkenn is a modest and unusually humble politician. He has very few stances he is completely uncompromising on, and one of those is the complete outlawing of spice in every form. He loves his stepdaughter Gianka very much, but isn't particularly fond of Vlaven.
When interrogated by Annelia regarding his droid which had attempted vehicular homicide, he reported it had been gifted to him by Vlaven but tinkered with by Dr. Cassias on a few occasions. He also told her he'd had no idea the droid had gone off on its own.
Gianka Burkenn-Alexis
Youthful and naive, Gianka adores her father, and her boyfriend, Emissarius Vlaven. And yet, the young Gianka, is highly ambitious and hopes to one day follow in her father's footsteps and become a Senator. She shares her father's view on the outlawing of spice.
She has her secrets, though, and it likely isn't a coincidence that she both seems to always want an excuse to hang around the Temple while also looking so much like Cayde.
Later, Cayde reveals to the CSF that Gianka is in fact his cousin.
